Abstract

This study aims to design a computer workstation that can be adjusted for employees to provide convenience and comfort in work. Data collection is done on employees at CV. Sri Lestari includes anthropometry of employee bodies and anthropometry of computer desks and chairs with direct measurement methods using a measuring ruler. The data obtained was carried out uniformity test, data adequacy test and percentile calculation and then the comfortable table-chair design were carried out for CV employees. Sri Lestari. The method used in this design is the anthropometry approach. The anthropometric approach is used to determine the dimensions of a computer workstation. Percentile 5 is used to identify aspects related to range, while 95th percentile is to determine dimensions about the dimensions of space. The results showed that from a comparison of sizes, computer tables that exist today regarding extent are sufficient by the user anthropometry and appropriate for the minimum needs of a computer desk for employees of CV. Sri Lestari. Its just that the size of the computer chair needs to be considered. If this is necessary to adjust the computer chair. The design of a computer workstation that can be modified can provide convenience and comfort for employees at work. The ability to adopt a product is a fundamental requirement in the design process.

Abstract

A yarn company strives to produce good and quality products, but the production process that is carried out by each person will produce products targeted at a target that has been set at 5%. This study uses the Six Sigma method but only until the improvement stage. The research is to determine the DPMO value and sigma level in the spinning production process, to know what factors cause defects and new parameters to reduce the defect. Based on the results of the study that the DPMO on the type of CD thread in the spinning section is 17,130 and the sigma level is 3,6. The level of sigma that has dominated the Indonesian industry average, but has a defect of 8.7%, the target set at 5%. Damaged and dirty apron, clogged trumpet, and leaky hose are factors that plan defects. Furthermore, with Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), the highest value of Risk Priority Number (RPN) in tangled defects is that the apron is damaged (140) and clogged trumpet (120), while the highest RPN value is gross dirty, i.e., dirty apron (150) and hose leaking lubricant (120).

Abstract

Loss on a working system is one of the causes of the cost of the process to swell. The loss that reaches more than 450 tons/month on a cooling water system at a chemical company in the Serang area causes the company's expenses to swell. This study aims to determine the cause of cooling water wash as a basis for process improvement by using Six Sigma and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). Data analysis results showed that cooling water loss is too little backwash filter duration, service filter duration is not optimum, and flow unreadable side stream. Improvements by increasing the length of the backwash, raising the service time of the sand filter to every two days, and cleaning the rotameter can increase the sigma value from 3.5 to 4.5.

Abstract

Studi ini mendeskripsikan pengukuran kualitas pengelasan pada pembuatan blast furnace shell. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan metode non destruktif menggunakan alat ultrasonic test. Tujuan dari pengukuran ini adalah untuk meminimalisir cacat pengelasan dengan melakukan intervensi pada proses pengelasan. Pengukuran awal dilakukan pada 178 join pengelasan FCAW (Flux Cored Arch Welding) pada pembuatan blast furnace shell. Hasil pengukuran awal ini menunjukkan 158 join (89%) memperlihatkan hasil pengelasan yang baik dan 20 join (11%) memerlukan perbaikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh kondisi lingkungan pengelasan dalam upaya meminimalisir cacat pengelasan yang terjadi pada pembuatan blast furnace shell. Intervensi dilakukan dengan penggunaan pelindung diseputar blast furnace shell untuk mengurangi angin yang menerpa pada saat proses pengelasan. Pengukuran selanjutnya dari 178 join menghasilkan 165 join yang baik (93%) dan 13 join perlu repair (7%). Cacat yang teridentifikasi yaitu undercut, porosity, slag dan include fusion dan crack (retak) yang berlebihan, sehingga hasil pengelasan tersebut dinyatakan repair. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kualitas pengelasan dapat diperbaiki dengan memperbaiki kondisi lingkungan tempat pekerjaan dilakukan, dalam hal ini kecepatan angin. Dalam hal ini terjadi penurunan cacat las dari 11% menjadi 7%. Namun demikian hasil ini belum mencapai target cacat las yang telah ditetapkan yaitu 5%. Untuk mencapai target tersebut perlu intervensi pada aspek lainnya seperti prosedur standar pengerjaan dan ispeksi material.

Abstract

This development poses a challenge to fulfill it by increasing the ability to provide or produce it. These conditions require companies to try to make their products available according to consumer needs. So the company should impose a system of Safety Stock, and ROP (Re-Order Point) or a message back point to ensure the availability of raw materials and the way of production. But sometimes the company doesnt pay attention to the lot size inventory efficiency issue. As a result, manufacturing companies tend to make large purchases without regard to the costs incurred. The purpose of this study is to identify safety stock, inventory costs, lot size, and reorder point for raw materials to then plan the billet raw material inventory. The data in the company has varying characteristics of the demand level so that the data is processed by the Lot Sizing Silver Meal method, the Economic Order Quantity and the Period Order Quantity. From the results of research and analysis, it is known that the safety stock of billet Q275 / 5SP raw materials is 1,046.68 tons and Re-order Points are 11758.04 tons. And from the three optimal lot sizing methods chosen, the Period Order Quantity method with the total cost of ordering raw materials per year is IDR 340,800.00 as much as four orders. Then inventory planning is carried out which results in a complete inventory cost of Rp 2,815,219,200 or resulting in cost efficiency of 17% compared to company policy which is Rp 3,407,764,327

Abstract

The raw material used by this company is the result of refining petroleum in the form of naphtha and crude c4. In this discussion, there was often a buildup of ships in the Anchorage area before leaning on the Jetty because there was no ready storage of raw materials to receive cargo. To overcome the problem in inventory naphtha, it uses the exponential smoothing method by finding the smallest MAD. And to overcome the difficulty in C4 crude using the reorder point method to determine the existing safety stock. Based on the results of calculations using the exponential smoothing method, the smallest MAD is obtained which is 5099.66 with a value of α 0.9. And with the estimate of safety stock for naphtha tanks that is equal to 11898.5 tons with a safety factor of 95%. The results of the reorder point calculation on Crude C4 obtained a safety stock of 1959 Tons with ROP (Reorder Point) of 3959 Tons which means that when supplies have reached ROP, it is recommended to send the Crude C4 product to the shipment so that excessive production does not accumulate in the tank.

Abstract

Foaming Agent company is a company engaged in the chemical industrial manufacturing, especially the additive industry for plastic and synthetic rubber. In the production process, the Foaming Agent Company has a problem with one of its products, Azodicarbonamide (ADCA). The number of defects caused becomes a problem primarily related to the course of production and the relationship with the customer. The research was conducted using the Six Sigma method by implementing DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). This study aims to identify the factors that cause defects and the most optimal choice of options to increase the level of sigma in the ADCA production process. Based on the results the most significant aspects that cause defects in ADCA products is Average Particle Size; 66.77% of the overall production defects. The sigma level that obtained before and after the improvisation is 3.68 and 4.03 with the average achieved savings per month are Rp.600 million. The results of the gradual decrease in defects showed that the options implemented at the improvisation stage were successful, but still needed improvisation so that the companys performance can be even better

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Pulper machines. The research was conducted using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness method. The research conducted at a company engaged in the Pulp & Paper field. Data collected by interviews and conducting direct observations in the area during February 2017. Based on the research, it can conclude that the Pulley OEE value was obtained by 77.31% with the main factor causing damage was Broken Ragger by 46%. The proposed improvements that can be given to minimize the incidence of broken ragger are training of ragger machine operators regularly, planning maintenance of scheduled ragger machines as well as providing tools to make it easier for operators to repair damaged machines

Abstract

CV. SDH Cilegon is engaged in construction services in carrying out production process activities; companies still experience product failures caused by humans, raw materials, machinery, methods and the environment and factors that often occur are humans because all production activities are carried out by humans, including machine operation. For work methods, returning to human factors again where the wrong approach to work can result in disability in production. Raw materials and the environment also affect the defects that arise. Sixty-three units dent failures that often occur; there are foreign bodies of 47 units, imperfect shape of 33 units, so the total number of defects is 143 units.

Abstract

From the observations on the construction company, the plate welding defects in steel construction often appear eight types of defects in the form of porosity, Under Cut, Overlap, Porosity, Underfill, Slag, Inclusion, Pin Hole, End Crater, Start Stop. This study aims to determine the types of defects that often appear, find out the causes and provide remedial solutions. This study uses six sigma methods with the stages of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Based on data processing obtained defects in the welding results that often appear namely undercut, porosity, overlap, underfill, spatter, pinhole, end crater, and start-stop. Found the dominant defect of processing Pareto diagrams in the form of Undercut 29%, Overlap 21%, Spatter 18%, Porosity 8%, all four types of defects reached 76%. Factors that cause defects in the welding results are seen from the aspects of the machine, human, method, material, and environment, namely the ampere in the machine that has been unstable, the operator is exhausted, the operator is less skilled, adjusting the ampere in the welding is too large, lack of cleaning, the distance of the bow is too far, the material is dirty, the material is wet, the environment is less comfortable, and the wind blows around the welding area. Some improvements that can be done are checking equipment before work begins, repairing pre-welding preparations in the form of cleaning the material to be carried out welding work, fixing welding techniques, increasing discipline and work motivation and the area to be carried out welding work must be covered with waterproof tarpaulin and the wind is protected from wind and rain. The improvement results can reduce the DPMO value from 51841 to 35377, and an increase in the sigma value from the initial sigma by 1.7 to 2.1.
