Abstract

The amount of tobacco waste produced by the cigarette industry reaches 20 tons/day has the potential to pollute the environment if it is not processed first. Tobacco waste content is dangerous because there is heavy Arsenic metal that not in accordance with environmental quality standards, which is 24.19 ppm. Therefore, further technological and waste management approaches need to be taken to become a product that is beneficial and safe for the environment. The processing that can be done is to convert tobacco waste into biochar (Bio-Charcoal) using a Torefication equipment. In the Torefication process there are factors that influence, including temperature and time treatment. Determination of the right temperature and time will determine the quality of biochar produced. The purpose of this reseach was to determine the optimal temperature and time in achieving the best performance of Torefication equipment in the biochar production process from tobacco waste. Changing variables used were temperature (400oC, 450oC, 500oC, 550oC and 600oC) and time (30 minutes, 35 minutes, 40 minutes). The research parameters are % yield, missing components and equipment performance. The result of this reseach showed that the highest and lowest of % yield is 58.37% and 26.27%, the highest and lowest missing components are 73.73% and 41.63% and the highest and lowest equipment performance is 58.2 g/(jam.m) and 19.7 g/(jam.m). Based on statistical analysis the optimal temperature and time is at 450oC and 30 minutes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of the characteristics of soil chemical properties with POC Marolis, mahogany leaf compost IPM Malang and its combination in Tlogowaru, Kedungkandang, Malang. This study lasted for 100 days (one planting season) in rice fields inpari 30 ciherang varieties. Data retrieval method with observation method which includes (1) phase before planting, (2) vegetative phase and (3) generative phase. Soil sampling was taken with a depth of 30 cm. Soil sampling was tested at the Laboratory of Soil Chemistry, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, Malang. Parameters tested include pH, Organic C, total N, C / N, P Bray ratio, base cations (K, Na, Ca, Mg, KTK, KB). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the best treatment of the characteristics of the chemical properties of paddy soil is owned by a combination of POC and compost which has a relatively acidic soil pH when the vegetative and generative phases, organic C and N Total are classified as starting before planting up to the generative phase, K Base Cation is classified as moderate from the vegetative to generative phase, Na Base Cation increases to moderate when the generative phase, Ca starts before planting to the high generative phase, high KTK starts from planting to generative conditions.

Abstract

The change in the profile of the Praigaga River trough around the tin mining of Praimadita Village due to mining is done by three points: the upstream of the river has a width of 6 m and a depth of 120 cm forming the letter "V", while in the middle of the river has a light silting with a width of 4 m and a depth of 60 cm and downstream of the river experiencing more heavy weights, width of 4 m and a depth of 40 cm to form the letter "U". Result of Water Analysis at River Body, Physics and Chemical quality change in Sungai Praigaga which tested in Sukofindo Laboratirium showed that the decreasing quality was on Total Suspended Solid / TSS (deposition) with 14.4 mg / L and Middle 349 mg / L with difference 24.2 mg / L, downstream of 19.2 mg / L, whereas in Total Dissolved Solid / TDS (turbidity) has a difference in the upstream, middle and high downstream even though not exceed the maximum number. The diversity of wildlife species around the tin mining of Praimadita Village, according to the community around the decrease of fish catch, before and after the mining activity, is preceded by the existence of river basins and streams due to mining activities. Public Perceptions of Mining Activity in Preimadita Villages The environmental concerns caused by environmental concerns include land, water, air and forest.

Abstract

Krebet Sugar Factory (PG) located in Bululawang Malang, East Java is one of the large-scale sugar processing industries. It produces large amounts of sugar cane filter cake (437 Ton / day). Sugar cane filter cake containing organic compound such as C, H, and O. However, the utilization of sugar cane filter cake still low. Since it included in the category of organic waste then it potentially to be utilized as biogas raw material through anaerobic fermentation process. Therefore the research to determine optimum conditions of fermentation is urgently needed. In order to be part of that purposes this study aimed to obtained characteristic of sugar cane filter cake from Krebet Sugar factory and make established a small-scale fermentor. The result of the preliminary research were shown thath by using a 3 kilogram fermentor the methane gas or biogas produced in 21 days of fermentation. In order to optimize the rate of gas production fermentor scale up is needed. Therefore, a 20 kilogram scale fermentor was builded completed with a gas volume measuring and gas flame test devices. Based on those result sugar cane filter cake from Krebet Sugar Factory has promising result to be processed to be a biogas.. In addition, it can provide an alternative energy option for the factory in the implementation of Clean Production and provide opportunities to increase the efficiency production.

Abstract

Raci River is a river close to residential areas and also close to industrial areas. Most Raci communities use the Raci river as the main water body for domestic activities of racers, as well as being the final waste water body for industrial estates, so that the quality of Raci river water continues to decline from year to year. This study aims to analyze the water quality of the river in perspective using TDS parameters so that it can determine the level of pollution in the river Raci based on TDS parameters and also can determine the factors that affect the levels of TDS in the river Raci. The location of this research is in the area of ??Raci, Kab. Pasuruan, while for testing the river water is carried out at the UHD Laboratory of DLH District. Pasuruan. The method used in this study is the gravimetric method. The results of this study indicate that the levels of TDS in all three points, namely upstream, middle, downstream, showed a significant difference, the level of TDS to the advanced river flow is greater than in the initial water body. Raci river water quality based on TDS parameters exceeds the quality standard, which is more than 1000 mg / L based on the East Java Regional Regulation Year 2 of 2008 concerning Management of Water Quality and Water Pollution Control in East Java Province, so further research is needed to identify more about the pollution level category river water in the raci area.

Abstract

This study aims to knows: 1) the density of vegetation (NDVI) using Landsat-8 OLI/TIRS (Operational Land Imager/Thermal Infrared Sensor). The data used in this research are  the data density of vegetation and an area that is tapped from Landsat imagery 8 OLI/TIRS (Operational Land Imager/Thermal Infrared Sensor) in 2018 years.  The method used in this study is the interpretation of Landsat 8 to calculate the density of vegetation index or diffrerence Normalized Vegetation Index (NDVI) obtained by calculation near infrared to red reflected by plants. Technical analysis using Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing, to determine the value of the vegetation canopy density using the results of calculation of the NDVI, then value the NDVI class reclassified (reclass) into four classes, namely the density of sky or water, stone and open field, shrubs, and forest. Results of the study indicate are: 1) the density of vegetation in the study area with  class of clouds and water  has extensive 1,1 ha, Stone and open field an the area of 7416.1 Ha, bushes  has extensive 8552.0 Ha, and forest has extensive 3945.8 ha.

Abstract

This research aims to determine a description of socio-economic factors as well as youth interest in the ornamental plant entrepreneurship in Desa Sidomulyo, Kecamatan Batu, Kota Batu. socio-economic influence on youth interest in entrepreneurship of ornamental plants in Desa Sidomulyo, Kecamatan Batu, Kota Batu. Socio-economic factors that have the most dominant influence on youth interest in entrepreneurship of ornamental plants in Desa Sidomulyo , Kecamatan Batu Kota Batu . Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The data were tested its validity and reliability . Samples were 50 respondents with sampling technique using purposive sampling. This research used statistical analysis techniques in the form of multiple linear regression to test the effect of income, family environment, community environment and social status of entrepreneur interest either partially or simultaneously. The results of the research were characteristic of respondent's data, income level, family environment, community environment, social status and youth entrepreneur interest. Based on multiple linear regression test indicated that income, family environment, social environment and social status have positive and significant influence to youth entrepreneur interest either partially or simultaneously. From several socioeconomic factors studied, income factor have dominant influence to interest of youth to entrepreneurship of ornamental plant in Desa Sidomulyo Kecamatan Batu.

Abstract

IRT Tiga Saudara was one of home industry in banana chips field product. Therefore it needed the one method to optimize the raw material inventory and decrease the order cost. The raw material inventory control could use lot sizing approach. The Result showed that accurate forecasting method was linear regression method, because it had Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) was 510.416, so it was still in upper control limit and lower control limit after Moving Range chart test. The lot sizing method that had lowest total inventory was Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), with optimal order was 526 kg and it was ordered 72 many times during 12 period in one year, reorder point level when raw material before end was 299 kg. The safety stock was 73 kg, so that the total cost was Rp. 790.500,-.

Abstract

Access Road for Shooting Field Armed Battalion 10 Kostrad Bogor is one of the special roads or primary local roads located in the Province of West Java, which connects the Battalion Headquarters with the training ground namely the shooting range. Damage to the road structure in general climbing and decreasing the original use of flexible pavement is no longer able to withstand traffic volume and load, so to overcome this feasible pavement on this road uses rigid pavement. The data needed is CBR data and daily traffic for planning. This writing aims to get a redesign of rigid pavement planning and road reinforcement that already exists with the method used is the Portland method (Bina Marga) which is based on Pd T-14-2003. From the results of data processing obtained traffic growth (5%), Daily Traffic Plan 580 vehicles / day for 1 lane 2 directions, subgrade CBR 4.5%, effective CBR 43%. Plate thickness at 22 cm pavement, percentage of fatigue damage (0% <100%), percentage of erosion damaged (10.80% <100%), thickness of foundation pavement used 10 cm Skinny Concrete Mixture. The connection uses dowel reinforcement ? 33 mm, length 450 mm, distance 300 mm. Tie bar uses ? 16 mm, length 700 mm, distance 750 mm. Wire mesh reinforcement ? 8 mm - 150 mm.

Abstract

Citrus is one type of fruit that is highly favored by the people. Continuous use of pesticides can have a negative impact on the environment and people. Profenofos pesticides are used to control pests in citrus plants. The aims of this study is to identify and qualitatively analyze pesticide residues in citrus fruits in District of  Dau, Malang. The sample of this research is 3 kg of citrus fruit produced by 3 farmers and 3 kg of citrus fruit produced by 3 traders of Tegalwaru Village, Dau District, Malang. Qualitative analysis of pesticide residue is known based on profenofos retention time of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) at PT. Angler Biochem Lab. The results showed that the residual level of profenofos in the farmer sample was found 0.108 ppm higher than the merchant sample of 0.050 ppm.
