Abstract

Learning tools that are used in the schools are still not optimal in facilitating the development of learners. The purpose of this study is to produce a device with a math learning 5E learning cycle model of Lorschbach valid, practical, and effective. This type of research is the development of research. The model used is a model development Plomp. The results showed that the study of mathematics by 5E learning cycle models developed Lorschbach have valid criteria in terms of content and construct. Practical learning device has been good in terms of enforceability, ease, and the time required. Learning device has also been effective in terms of activity and learning outcomes of students with an average value of learners activity increased and the level of mastery learning outcomes. This means learning devices effective in improving learning outcomes of students. Based on these results it can be concluded that the study of mathematics by 5E learning cycle Lorschbach models developed in the study of mathematics in class V SD can be declared valid, practical, and effective.Keywords: Learning tools, math, learning 5E learning cycle model of Lorschbach

Abstract

This study aimed to describe effecitivity of the learning outcome IPA using inquiry method. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research (CAR). Research procedures conducted through four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study uses a qualitative and quantitative approach. Subjects were teachers and students of fourth class in elementary school 08 Padang City. Data was obtained from the results of observations and test results of learning. The research was conducted by two cycles and each cycle consisting of two meetings. The results of the research that has been conducted every cycle seen an increasein the average value of student learning outcomes are: (a) the cognitive aspects of 75 to 93, (b) the affective aspects of 74 to 95, and (c) psychomotor aspects from 76 to 94. It can be concluded that the CAR using the inquiry method can improve learning outcomes of science fourth grade students of fourth class in the state elementary school 08 Padang City.Key words: Learning competency; science learning; inquiry method

Abstract

Learning activities in primary schools are still dominated by teachers, consequently the students' critical thinking skills are low. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation and improvement of students' critical thinking skills on the characteristics of wake up flat by using Contextual teaching and learning model. The results showed an improvement in the observation of students' critical thinking skills as well as aspects of teachers and students. The students' critical thinking ability in cycle I was 69 and increased in cycle II to 86. The result of observation of student aspect in cycle I was 76.75% with good qualification, and increased in cycle II to 92% with excellent qualification. It was concluded that, Contextual Teaching And Learning model can improve students' mathematical critical thinking ability.Keywords: critical thinking skills; Contextual Teaching And Learning model

Abstract

This study aims to improve science learning result in fourth grade of SDN Koto Tinggi, Tanjung Raya, Agam, through a Scientific Approach. This research is an action research using Kemmis and Mc.Taggart models which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycles consists of planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection action. The results showed an increase in the results in learn science, especially in the topic of natural resources by using a scientific approach. This was proved by the average percentage of students in pre-cycle was 44.16% and increased to 63.33% after cycle I and 77.5% in cycle II. The implications of this study indicate that the use of a scientific approach makes the students more active and independent in learning with an integrated understanding. Teachers can develop an innovative approach that meets the needs of students, so the learning process will be more dynamic and meaningful.Keywords: Learning Result of Science; Scientific Approach; Action Research

Abstract

This study was aimed at determining: (1) the effect of Genius Learning strategy toward concept understanding compared with conventional; (2) the effect of Genius Learning strategy towards concept understanding with high mathematical disposition compared with conventional; (3) the effect of Genius Learning strategy towards concept understanding with low mathematical disposition compared with conventional; (4) the interaction between learning strategy and mathematical disposition in influencing concept understanding. This study was designed as quasi-experimental research by using a 2 x 2 factorial. The data were obtained by using mathematical disposition questionnairesand concept understanding test. Data were analyzed by using t-test and Anova.The result of the data showed that: (1) understanding of the concepts taught by Genius Learning strategy was higher than conventional; (2) understanding of the concepts with high mathematical disposition taught by Genius Learning was higher than conventional; (3) understanding of the concepts with lower mathematical disposition taught by Genius Learning was higher than conventional; (4) There was no interaction between learning strategies andthemathematical disposition in influencing students’ understanding of the concept.Keywords: Concept Understanding; Mathematical Disposition; Genius Learning

Abstract

This research is a collaboration between faculty and students, with the aim of generating a synergy in the final work. The purpose of this study was to increase student’s ability to sing national anthems with direct teaching on 4th grade of SDN 01 Bandar Buat Padang. This study uses qualitative and quantitative approach to the type of research is the Classroom Action Research (PTK ). The results showed the increase of student’s ability to sing outcomes in the first cycle is obtained an average of 74,6 % , while in the second cycle gained an average of 87,6 %.Keywords: Singing Skills; Direct Learning Model

Abstract

This research aims at finding out the effects of using the Think Pair Share (TPS) type of the Cooperative Model toward 5th grade students’ learning outcomes of the civics subject at SDN 58 Lubuk Buaya Padang. The design of the research was Quasi Experiment. The population was all 5th grade students of the school. The samples were members of class VA and VB which consisted of 20 and 21 students. Based on the analysis of t-test, it was found that tcount > ttable (3,943 > 2,023). Thus, H1 is accepted. It means there is a significant use of the Think Pair Share (TPS) type to toward the 5th grade students’ learning outcomes of the civics subject.Keywords: the TPS learning model, learning outcomes

Abstract

SOLO Taxonomy is one of the frameworks used in analyzing the quality of responses in problem solving. This research aim to analyze the student’s responses level in doing problem solving item based on SOLO Taxonomy overviewed from motivation to learn. The research method used in this study was a qualitative research with the data sources of this study were 75 students period 2016/2017. The results of the study showed that student’s responses in doing problem solving wave concept at prestructural level is 62,17%, Unistructural Level is 27,63%, Multistructural level is 58,22%, Relasional level is 48,50%, and Extended Abstract level is 37,82%; Motivation to learn’s student high category are better at responding to answer item based SOLO Taxonomy than motivation to learn’s students low category.Keywords: Student’s reponses; SOLO Taxonomy; Motivation to Learn
