Abstract

The result of the research indicated that there was an improvement on the students learning achievement after jigsaw cooperative model applied. This could be seen from: (1) the lesson plan used by teacher is getting complex in which its average score improved from 74,99% in the first cycle into 89,28% in the second cycle, (2) the teachers activity improved from 79,8% in the first cycle into 89,80% in the second cycle, and (3) the students learning achievement 78,69% in the first cycle into 93,26% in the second cycle. Based on this result, it was concluded the use of jigsaw cooperative model could improve the students learning achievement in civics.  Keywords: Civic Learning, Jigsaw Model

Abstract

This study aims to explain the improvement of experimental report writing skills using a scientific approach in thematic learning in class IV SD Negeri 15 Ulu Gadut, Pauh District, Padang City. This study uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. This type of research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting on each cycle. The subject of the study consisted of 36 teachers and students of SDU 15 Ulu Gadut, Pauh City, Padang. The results showed that: the application of the scientific approach to learning to write experimental reports was able to: motivate students to learn to write in real terms because they collected their own data from the object or phenomenon of the experiment that would be written; students feel challenged to explore their curiosity about natural phenomena; please students because they feel proud to be able to participate in writing activities; arouse students' writing interest because they can publish the results of their experiments in writing.Keywords: report writing, thematic, scientific

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the promotive and preventive benefits of the BPJS program for the health maintenance of elementary school students in the working area of Belimbing Puskesmas. This type of research is qualitative descriptive with data validity test with ktriangulasi technique and data analysis technique using interactive analysis model from Miles and Huberman. The findings of this study indicate that the promotive benefits of health promotion are done by displaying banners, pamphlets, stickers and leaflets. Information provided such as TB alert, dengue alert, and the dangers of smoking. Preventive benefits are undertaken in an attempt to prevent, avoid or reduce the risk of adverse outcomes of the disease, through immunization and diphtheria injections for all primary school children. Keywords: Promotive, Preventive, Rights, Health

Abstract

This study aims to describe the perception of PGSD students on the implementation of KKNIbased curriculum at Medan State University (Unimed). The research study focused on the implementation of 6 KKNI tasks, namely: routine task, Critical Book Report (CBR), Critical Journal Review (CJR), idea engineering, project, and mini research. This research is a descriptive quantitative research, by taking sample of research from Unimed student of PGSD as much as 240 people. Data were collected by using observation and questionnaire, then analyzed by using descriptive statistic. Outcomes resulting from the results of this study include: (1) research reports that contribute to the direction of policy courses and faculty in running KKNI in the future, (2) national journals with ISSN online that contribute to the development of science, especially related with the implementation of KKNI in Higher Education, and (3) recommendation of institutional policy toward the implementation of KKNI in the future. The result of the research shows that the perception of PGSD students on the implementation of KKNI is 3.33 (83.25%) with Good category. That is, PGSD students have a good perception on the implementation of KKNI in Universitas Negeri Medan.  Keywords : perception, PGSD, curriculum, KKNI

Abstract

This research is motivated importance of developing an integrated thematic teaching materials that can increase a student's progress in learning .. To overcome these problems it is necessary to find a solution in the form of the development of teaching . This solution is realized in the form of developing an integrated thematic teaching on problem based learning model is valid , practical , and effective . Designed teaching materials is a book teacher and student books .This type of research is the development of research using a model 4-D: the definition define, design, developing and disseminate. The results obtained, validation  of lesson plan gained an average of 3.6 in the category of very valid. Validation of teaching materials gained an average of  3.8 with very valid category. At this stage of the practicalities, the result that has practical teaching materials to be used. The use of integrated thematic teaching materials can enhance the activity and student learning outcomes. The student’s learning achievement reached 78,6%. The research finding shows that the integrated thematic teacher material is valid, practical, and effective to be used as one of the teaching materials in the fourth grade of elementary school. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce teaching materials on learning mathematics based on the Qur'an in elementary schools are valid, practical and effective. This research is development research using the ADDIE model. The results showed that the developed teaching materials are categorized very valid with the percentage of teaching materials 91.50%. The effect of practicality test of teacher responsse is categorized very practical with percentage 91,07%, and student responsse is categorized very practical with percentage 92,04%. Assessment of learning outcomes of students is classified very high. Based on these results it can be concluded that the mathematics materials based on the Qur'an in elementary schools declared valid, practical and effective.Keywords: Al-quran, teaching material, mathematics, elementary school

Abstract

The purpose of the development research is to produce a textbook on the development of Beginning Reading and Writing skills by using the VARK (Visual, Auditory, Read-Write, Kinesthetic) model in the practical grade I class. The development is based on the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) models that emphasize the contextual user needs (teachers and learners), resulting in a draft of the Beginning Reading and Writing skills development package using the VARK model in class I elementary school , which contains the identification of competency standards and basic competencies, identification of indicators, identification of learning objectives. The results of the trial of practicality demonstrate that the textbook of Reading and Writing Beginnings by using VARK model in class I elementary school is practical and feasible to be used by grade 1 elementary school teachers.  Keywords: Beginning Reading and Writing skills, VARK model, Elementary School

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of developing learning materials that can improve students' reading skill. Based on the above, developed learning materials oriented learning model of cooperative type CIRC. The purpose of developing this instructional material is to produce a valid, practical, and effective reading material. Type of research is research development . The development model is a 4-D model consisting of definitions, design, development, and disseminate. The result of validity test was valid with average value 3.35. The result of observation of the implementation of RPP states that the teaching material is practical with an average value of 90.90. In the effectiveness test stage, the average result obtained 92.33 and as many as 19 students from 20 people total reach Minimum Criteria completeness (KKM). Based on these results, it can be concluded that the reading material oriented cooperative learning model type CIRC in class IV Primary School that has been produced can be declared valid, practical, and effectiveKeywords: Development of Learning Materials, Reading, CIRC

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze and describe effectivity of headmaster role and function to implementing program for improving quality of education in private elementary school of Metro City. The research approach used is qualitative with case study design on the effectiveness of headmaster role and function as educator, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, innovator, motivator, and entrepreneur. Sources of research data are headmaster, vice headmaster, teachers, committees, supervisors, foundation, and administrative staff of schools with purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques used interviews, observations and documentation studies. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman interaction model is data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the study are expected to effectively implement the headmaster role and function and involve the stakeholders in an optimal manner. Abstract

This research was conducted as the student’s skill in writing descriptive texts in the second grade of SDN 07 Teladan Kota Bukittinggi was still low is because teacher lack an understanding of the step to write a good descriptive. Therefore, this research was intended to describe the improvement of the student’s skill in writing descriptive texts by using Direct Writing Activity strategy in the second grade of SDN 07 Teladan Kota Bukittinggi. This was a classroom action research which used qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subject of research was the practitioner teacher and 32 students in the second grade of SDN 07 Teladan Kota Bukittinggi. The result of the research indicated that the student’s skill in writing descriptive texts improved from 74,48% (adequtae) in the first cycle into 82,94% (good) in the second cycle. It can be concluded, that Direct Writing Activity strategy could improve the student’s skill in writing descriptive text in the second grade of Primary School.Keywords : Writing Skill, Descriptive Texts, Direct Writing Activity strategy
