Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study evaluate the implementation of inclusive education program. The method use the qualitative analysis by explain and interpret data from each component evaluated and using model evaluation of CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Sources of data in this study include inclusive education experts, officer of Education Department, school principal, teachers, normal students, and students with special needs. The data were collected by documentation, observation, and interview. The research on contextual component show that the legal process of inclusive education has been shown clearly according to regulation of Education System in Indonesia. The purpose of inclusive education is already in accordance with that has been formulated. Input component indicate that the number of students with special needs enrolled in schools is large enough with various types of disorders. Teachers, curriculum, and infrastructure facilities still have to be improved. The components of process indicate that the plan, process and evaluation activities for each aspect are considered good and good enough. The product shows that the academic aspect of students with special needs based on School Examinations value is considered good and the social aspect is good.This research gives recommendation for government and inclusive school to improve their program preparation more optimal.Keywords: Evaluation Program, Inclusive EducationABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi implementasi program pendidikan inklusi. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif yaitu mendeskripsikan dan memaknai data dari masing-masing komponen yang dievaluasi dengan menggunakan model evaluasi CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Sumber data dalam penelitian ini meliputi pakar pendidikan inklusi, Dinas Pendidikan, kepala sekolah, guru, siswa normal, dan siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan dokumentasi, observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil temuan komponen konteks menunjukkan bahwa landasan hukum penyelenggaraan pendidikan inklusi secara jelas sudah tertuang dan ditemukan dalam UU Sistem Pendidikan Negara kita. Tujuan pendidikan inklusi pun sudah sesuai dengan yang telah dirumuskan. Hasil temuan komponen input menunjukkan input ABK yang bersekolah jumlahnya cukup banyak dengan berbagai jenis kebutuhan khususnya. Namun dalam komponen guru, kurikulum, dan sarana prasarana masih harus ditingkatkan lagi. Hasil temuan komponen proses menunjukkan kegiatan perencanaan, proses dan evaluasi pembelajaran untuk setiap aspek dinilai masuk dalam katagori baik dan cukup baik. Hasil temuan komponen produk menunjukkan produk perkembangan aspek akademik ABK berdasarkan nilai UAS dinilai cukup baik dan aspek sosialnya pun sudah baik. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk pemerintah dan pihak sekolah penyelenggara inklusi agar lebih meningkatkan kesiapannya dalam menjalankan program pendidikan inklusi yang lebih optimal.Kata Kunci: Evaluasi Program, Pendidikan Inklusi

Abstract

EFFECT OF BREAKFAST ON THE STUDENT LEARNING CONCENTRATIONBreakfast is a human need that is needed regularly every morning, for nutritional needs and brain development for students which should start early. The reduced concentration of learning one of which is influenced by the lack of nutrition in students. Student activities on campus will be disrupted if nutritional needs are not met. Nutritional problems that occur in Indonesia are still very many, one of which is Protein Energy Deficiency which greatly affects the concentration and ability of students to think. Measuring nutritional status is one aspect that very important so that no complications occur, namely malnutrition. So it is necessary to study specifically about how to keep the concentration of learning maintained to achieve goals that link the effect of breakfast on learning concentration and the impact on body health. The research design used is correlational research. The population in this study were all semester 7 Biology Education students.The sampling method was purposive sampling, through testing the results of questionnaires related to breakfast or no breakfast. Based on the results of the study found that there was an influence of breakfast on the concentration of 7th semester Biology Education students.

Abstract

The title of the research is integrating the teaching of culture based reading and essay writing to build students cultural awareness. Two main aims were conveyed in the research. First, it was aimed at supporting students to write an essay based on what they had read (to give them background knowledge and to build their reading habit) and the second was building students cultural awareness and helping them realize that their nation actually has fabulous local wisdoms. By realizing that the nation has deeply meaningful local wisdoms, they will love and protect the nation with their body and soul. The researchers integrated this teaching of local wisdoms by asking the students to firstly read a cultural based text and discussed what they understand about the text with their friends. The text contained a description about different cultures in several countries. The titles of the texts were for example: Maintaining Eye Contact in Some Cultures, Innocent Gestures that Mean Rude Abroad, The Ethics of Gift Giving all over the World, etc. After being read, the text was then discussed in the classroom. The students gave their opinion as well as their experience related to the topic. The last activity was writing an essay with the same topic yet the culture being discussed in the writing had to be about the students own culture. The method that was employed in the research was mixed method. The qualitative data was gained from classroom observation and the portfolio of students writings while the quantitative data was gained from questionnaires distributed to the students. The results were first the students found out how to write an essay and second, they realized that their culture has high values to be appreciated. Thus the love to the nation was well established.Key Words: Reading-Writing Integration, Cultural Awareness, Essay Writing.

Abstract

ABSTRACTStudents of EFL countries find it difficult to break down their ideas from their native language into English, and one of the difficulties is related to conduct adjective phrases. The objective of this research is to discover kinds of difficulties that students face in writing adjective phrases. Qualitative research is applied in order to explain the problem more specifically and descriptive method is employed to maintain alongside the approach used. Triangulation data turn to be the instruments which include documentation, questionnaire distribution and semi-structured interview. The class for participating in this research is 4th semester of English students in Pakuan University. Students are participating in documentation by compiling their essays to identify glitches in adjective phrases before questionnaire session. Meanwhile, interview session is conducted to the lecturer of the essay writing class. The result shows that error in addition (56.67%) becomes the highest rate, then selection (21.67%), omission (15%) and ordering (6.67%). Associated with the reasons above, there are two major causes of students’ difficulties, namely interlingual and intralingual errors, but then the data show that students struggle in Mother Tongue Interference.Keywords: Writing Ability, Grammar, Interlingual Errors, Mother Tongue Interference (MTI) ABSTRAKMahasiswa dari negara yang menggunakan Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing menghadapi kesulitan untuk mengekspresikan ide dari bahasa penutur asli ke bahasa Inggris, salah satu kesulitannya mengacu pada merangkai frasa kata sifat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan klasifikasi kesulitan saat mahasiswa menyusun frasa kata sifat. Penelitian kualitaitf diterapkan untuk menjelaskan kendala lebih spesifik, serta dilengkapi dengan metode penelitian deskriptif.agar mempertegas pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu Triangulasi yang mencangkup dokumentasi, angket dan wawancara. Kelas yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian merupakan mahasiswa semester empat prodi Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Pakuan.  Mahasiswa andil dalam dokumentasi yang berupa pengumpulan esai untuk mendeteksi kesalahan dalam frasa kata sifat sebelum mengacu ke angket. Sedangkan wawancara ditujukan kepada dosen pengampu mata kuliah bersangkutan. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan kesalahan di penambahan kata (56.67%) menempati urutan pertama, disusul dengan pemilihan kata (21.67%), pengurangan kata (15%) serta runtutan kata (6.67%). Berdasarkan perolehan diatas, terdapat dua penyebab utama kesulitan mahasiswa, yakni kesalahan interlingual dan intralingual, namun hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa mahasiswa menghadapi kesulitan dalam pengaruh bahasa ibu.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Menulis, Tatabahasa, Kesalahan Interlingual, Bahasa Ibu

Abstract

ABSTRACTDetermining the implementation of the assessment and evaluation being used in Foundation of Listening Subject Lecturer become the objective of this study. It is conducted to the Foundation of Listening Subject lecturer in first semester of English Education Study Program, School of Education, Pakuan University, Bogor Indonesia. Qualitative approach and Descriptive are used as method. Observation, questionnaire and interview are utilized for data collection. The findings of the study are that most of the lecturer applied multiple choice question taken from TOEFL test book to test students knowledge, while the classroom performance is assessed by performance test.Keywords: Assessment, Evaluation, Foundation of Listening

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe method used in this research is a qualitative case study with qualitative approach. In obtaining justifiable data, researchers directly interact on the learning process and observe the implementation of learning. Data collection and data recording procedures are done through observation, interview and documentation. The validity of data used is credibility, transferability, dependability, and conformability. Data analysis used is descriptive qualitative. The purpose of this study is to describe the findings about the Learning Style used by Outstanding Street Children in PKBM Bina Insan Mandiri or often called MASTER School Depok City. Subjects in this study are one of the street students (tissue seller) with high achievers, teachers and students parents. The results showed that the Learning Style of Outstanding Street Children showed the combination of the three learning styles, but more dominantly the auditorial learning style that relies on the sense of hearing in the learning process. Such as: a. Easy to learn by listening, b. In teaching and learning activities students easily distracted if the class is not conducive, c. Students speak fluently, d. Like to tell stories, e. Fond of listening to stories, f. Glad to discuss, g. Fond of listening to music, h. Talking with rhythm. The result of the learning style of street students achievement can be known that by using auditorial learning style or relying on the sense of hearing street students achieving more understanding what is conveyed by the teacher on the learning process especially in the activities of storytelling. Based on the results of the research above it can be concluded that street students have an achievement of auditorial learning style that relies on the sense of hearing.Keywords: Learning Style of Street Children, Learning Achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini digolongkan dalam penelitian korelasional yang terdiri atas dua variabel bebas yaitu kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dan budaya organisasi serta satu variabel terikat yaitu kepuasan kerja guru. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada guru yang berstatus Pegawai Negeri Sipil di SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Cianjur dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 132 orang yang diambil dengan teknik proportional random sampling. Metode yang digunakan yaitu survei dengan pendekatan korelasional. Sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik korelasi dan regresi linier sederhana serta korelasi dan regresi linier ganda. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan pada taraf signifikansi 0,05.Hasil penelitian menghasilkan tiga kesimpulan yaitu: Pertama, terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dengan kepuasan kerja guru yang ditunjukan dengan koefisien korelasi koefisien korelasi ry1 = 0,552 dan persamaan regresi ?= 76,833+0,228X1. Kedua, Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara budaya organisasi dengan kepuasan kerja guru yang ditunjukkan dengan koefisien korelasi ry2 = 0,627 dan persamaan regresi ?= 48,031+0,368X2.Ketiga, Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dan budaya organisasi secara bersama-sama dengan kepuasan kerja guru yang ditunjukkan dengan koefisien korelasi ry12= 0,669 dan persamaan regresi ?= 48,578+0,118X1+0,272X2.Berdasarkan kesimpulan di atas, implikasi hasil penelitian adalah kepuasan kerja guru dapat ditingkatkan melalui kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dan budaya organisasi.

Abstract

THE SOCIAL MULTILITERATION MODEL IN UNDERSTANDING THE VALUES OF STUDENT MORALITIES IN SDN 1 CIKALAHANGLearning that has been done so far only emphasizes the cognitive aspects without introducing the moral values. The social multiliteration learning model in understanding the moral values of students is considered very important because students are required to master an understanding of social phenomena and global demands. Therefore, life skills and careers can be built in students; responsibilities in learning; working and creating; students' ability in civilization; and understand the moral knowledge contained in the learning process. This study aims to describe the needs of learning model and design social multiliteration learning model in understanding the values of morality of students at SDN 1 Cikalahang. The writer uses a case study research with a qualitative approach. Observation and interview used to collect the data. Questionnaire needs and unstructured interviews used as the instruments. Indicators of needs analysis include models, media, competencies and evaluation of learning. Analysis of the needs for learning model obtained a total score of 94 which is very good category, while the design of social multiliteration learning model in interpreting moral responsibility is very necessary because the current morality of students is decreasing. The implementation of social multiliteration learning models can help students in interpreting the moral knowing of responsibility character through the activities of raising rabbits, as well as seen from the effectiveness and attractiveness of student learning interests.

Abstract

EFL reading classes are often teacher-centered and only focus on direct knowledge transmission, the emphasis is often put on the production of comprehension rather than the processing skills. This research attempts to maximize the students participation in evaluating the process of reading by using speed reading program, to find out the strategies they use in the reading process, and to know the students perceptions on speed reading in order to enhance their reading comprehension skill in English. The participants of the study are twenty one students of English Education Study Program of Faculty of Teachers Training and Educational Sciences, in the fifth semester of 2017/2018 academic year. The data were collected from the students reading graphs, reflection journals, and interview. The major findings of this research are: (1) the average of students reading rate is below the ideal speed 300 wpm, but the average result of comprehension score is excellent. Both reading rate and reading comprehension show a progress. (2) Most of the students had used cognitive strategies and unconsciously used metacognitive strategies also. (3) Most of the students showed positive perceptions toward the speed reading program, they were also motivated and able to evaluate themselves to develop their reading skill. It can be concluded that at this level, they have acquired some reading skills and strategies, and by evaluating and recognizing their own weaknesses, they have tried to improve themselves to get better.Keywords: EFL, Case Study, Speed Reading, Strategy, Perception

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the strategies applied by the learners in learning English pronunciation. This research attempts to answer the following research questions: (1) what are the strategies applied by the learners in learning English pronunciation? (2) What is the impact of the strategies applied by the learners toward their achievement in learning pronunciation? The participants of this study are 30 students who are still in the second semester in English Education Study Program, Pakuan University. The data were collected through classroom observation, questionnaire, and documentation in a form of audio recording, and in-depth interview with six representative participants. The major findings of this study are: (1) the strategies applied by the participants of this study are based on the strategies proposed by Calka (2001). From six strategies, cognitive strategy is the strategy whose the tactics mostly applied by the participants. (2) There is a good impact of pronunciation strategies toward pronunciation learning. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi strategi yang diterapkan oleh pembelajar bahasa Inggris dalam mempelajari pronunciation Bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini difokuskan untuk menjawab pertanyaan; (1) Apakah strategi yang diterapkan oleh pembelajar dalam memepelajari pronunciation bahasa Inggris? (2) Apakah dampak dari penerapan strategi belajar terhadap pembelajaran dan kemampuan pronunciation? Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 mahasiswa semester 2 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Pakuan.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi dalam kelas, kuesioner, dokumentasi berupa rekaman suara partisipan saat membaca kata dan kalimat, serta interview perwakilan dari partisipan. Temuan dari penelitian ini antara lain; (1) Strategi yang diterapkan oleh partisipan adalah strategi yang disusun oleh Calka (2001). Dari enam strategi, kognitif strategi adalah strategi yang taktiknya paling banyak diterapkan oleh partisipan. (2) Ada dampak yang sangat baik dari penerapan strategi pembelajaran pronunciation terhadap kemampuan pronunciation. Dampak tersebut juga terlihat dari proses pembelajaran yang menjadi lebih mudah.
