Abstract

Reading is one of the activities that is often carried out during learning, but the reality seen by researchers is that reading levels in elementary schools are still low. Therefore, literacy activities including reading need to be familiarized to children from an early age. MIN I Yogyakarta as one of the superior madrasahs familiarizes children with reading through the literacy movement. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that: (1) the types of literacy found in class V MIN I Yogyakarta include basic literacy, science literacy, library literacy, and technology literacy. (2) strategies implemented by reading 15 minutes before learning begins, there is a reading corner in each class with students bringing books from home to school so that students can read whenever and wherever, the literacy movement is integrated with the 2013 curriculum, writing down the essence of reading or making a synopsis, discussions and presentations, procurement of library materials. (3) the impact caused by the literacy movement such as students showing a penchant for writing, increasing the number of visits to the library, creating a literate environment by getting used to reading, easing the teacher's burden in training students' ability to obtain information with high curiosity so that students have broad and deep knowledge and insight.

Abstract

Lack of religious motivation, makes students less responsible. Students just want to get good grades without having to learn by cheating. It is necessary to increase students' motivation and religious behavior in order to have good morality without having to do behavior that is out of religious values. Not only in terms of learning but also at home and in the madrasa. Therefore, the researchers raised the problem, namely: 1) How MI's efforts to increase religious motivation in students 2) How do MI improve religious behavior in students and 3) What are the supporting and inhibiting factors faced by MI in increasing motivation and behavior religion to students. This study uses literature study research by examining related theories to improve MI students' motivation and religious behavior. The results of various literature reviews will be used to identify increasing religious motivation and behavior of MI students. The results of the analysis show that efforts to improve the religious motivation of MI students can be realized in several methods, namely giving rewards, giving praise, providing added value, sanctions or punishment, creating healthy competition, instilling a sense of responsibility for an obligation and character education. The way to improve religious behavior in the dimensions of religious practice is realized in the main effort, namely first to enter into the intraculikuler, the second in the supporting program. Supporting programs can be classified daily and annually. For daily activities include remembrance after obligatory prayer, prayer, Dhuha prayer, noon prayer and Asr prayer, row class (murajaah), qiraati, and closing aurat. While the annual activities include Islamic boarding schools, qurban, and fasting. There are 2 factors that influence the school's efforts to improve religious behavior, namely supporting factors and inhibiting factors. For the first, supporting factors can be classified into two factors: school factors and collaboration factors with student guardians. For school factors include the participation of school residents, madrasah environment, school facilities and infrastructure. For factors of collaboration with student guardians include student guardian meetings, Ramadhan Monitoring Books and similar objectives for all school and student guardians. The second factor is the inhibiting factor of the school's efforts to improve religious behavior which comes from lack of family attention and negative interactions in the community.

Abstract

This study aims to describe character education as well as the similarities and differences in the independence of MI Baiquniyyah Bantul students and children under the Diponegoro Shelter and Study Center (RSB Diponegoro). This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study: First, independent character education: (1) MI Baiquniyyah students through: Getting used to managing the distribution of snacks and lunches, taking care of prayer needs; Independence education in the learning process; reward punishment; Cheerful Saturday; The routine of PPA Baiquniyyah students. (2) RSBD Assisted Children through: Independence Training/Counseling; Counseling; Do nature activities; Eradicate the societal stigma against anjal; Restore family function; Restore the daily routine of springy; RSBD inspires through skullcap and screen printing businesses. The two similarities and differences in the independence of MI Baiquniyyah students and RSBD target children (1) The emotional independence of low-class non-boarding students and children on the street still depends on their parents, while high-class students and children of the street have good emotional independence; (2) The intellectual independence of students in grades 1 and 2 and anjal children of the street is still low, while non-school students in grades 1 and 2, students in grades 3-5 and children on the street are quite good; (3) MI Baiquniyyah students do not yet have economic independence, while anjal children on the street do economic activities to help their families while children of the street type for their own needs; (4) The social independence of MI Baiquniyyah students and anjal children on the street showed good interactions, while anjal children of the street after receiving assistance at RSBD showed positive changes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) at MI Ma'arif Gondosuli Muntilan. This study used a descriptive research design with a qualitative approach. The results showed that there was an implementation of the school literacy movement at MI Ma'arif Gondosuli Muntilan. The implementation includes: (1) adding enrichment books, as for the types of books available from textbooks, references and reading or enrichment books; (2) carrying out the habituation stage of literacy activities, as for activities such as holding reading activities 10-15 minutes before; (3) display of posters, including posters on the environment, traffic safety and invitations to read; (4) reading and writing activities in thematic learning.

Abstract

In Islam, the command to read occupies a major position, even the first revelation that the Prophet Muhammad received was an order to read. Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, ideally reading interest is high. But the facts say otherwise. Low interest in reading also occurred in Grade 4 Ahmad Dahlan SDIT Salsabila 2 Klaseman, even though the school library was already available with various books. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with field research. The research subjects were the 4th grade students of Ahmad Dahlan at SDIT Salsabila 2 Klaseman, teachers, principals and guardians of students. The results showed that the cause of children's low interest in reading was influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors are in the form of student motivation, but these internal factors are influenced by external factors, namely education in the family environment, peers/play and the school environment. A good family or peer environment will lead children to have good habits, including reading. Meanwhile, external factors in the school environment include four things: (1) there is little rest time available, (2) the distance between the class and the library is quite far, (3) most peers fill their break time by playing, and (4) there is no model of habituation to the library from the teacher. Efforts made to improve a reading culture are: (1) utilizing the principal's policy on literacy, (2) making class libraries with beautiful designs, (3) cultivating a sense of belonging to class literature, making them together with materials and books from children , (4) supply of books from the class library, (5) provided playing equipment (sitting games) near the class library, (6) cooperate with student guardians, always discuss it at the monthly meeting, (7) provide rewards for those who diligently read, and (8) announcing the results of the reward in front of their friends, (9) the teacher sets an example of fondness for reading.

Abstract

A society that has a civilization in science and technology that is developing rapidly, it turns out that it is not balanced with awareness in religion. The method in this study is a literature review that discusses the idea of ​​Islamic Value-Based Scientific Literacy. So that the more a person has high knowledge, the closer that person is to God and the more that person has high knowledge, the better his behavior will be because he will understand how to behave in his life well. Scientific literacy based on Islamic values ​​can also be interpreted as the ability to engage with science (science) on related issues and with scientific ideas (ideas) as a reflection as a religious citizen.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the implementation of the Free Literacy School (SLG) program at STKIP PGRI Ponorogo. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The location of the study took place at STKIP PGRI Ponorogo, address on Jalan Ukel number 39 Kertosari Babadan Ponorogo East Java province. The research subjects were participants who had attended the Free Literacy School (SLG). The research instrument used was interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Free Literacy School (SLG) program received a tremendous response from participants living in Ponorogo and its surroundings. The efforts made by the committee in implementing the Free Literacy School (SLG) program are: (1) presenting a number of practitioners and academics from various regions who are experts in their respective fields, (2) the entry into force of attendance requirements for participants who take the Free Literacy School ( SLG), (3) arranging topics on literacy materials, and (4) giving certificates of appreciation to participants who meet the criteria. Therefore , the implementation of the School of Literacy Literacy (SLG) program needs to be continued for the following years which will certainly develop in other institutions and regions. Considering the noble purpose of this Free Literacy School is to make the young generation who are literate and literate.

Abstract

The era of globalization has had quite a broad impact on various aspects of life, especially in the provision of education, so students' scientific literacy which includes knowledge of science, science processes, development of scientific attitudes, and students' understanding of science can be integrated with moral values. The method in this study is a literature review that discusses the importance of integrating scientific literacy and moral values ​​in the era of globalization. Solutions to be able to overcome various problems of the globalization era that occur both political, economic, social and cultural problems as well as problems of moral and intellectual decadence especially among students, it is necessary to strengthen moral values ​​and scientific literacy.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the implementation of the literacy school program (LSP) as an educational policy that seeks literacy skills in mathematics, science, reading and writing of students. The literacy school program (LSP) is the result of educational innovation in the field of strategy. The literacy school program emphasis on literacy activities that include thinking skills using sources of knowledge in print, visual, digital, and auditory forms. This article uses a library research with literature and internet. The implementation of literacy school program (LSP) in primary school is applied as regulation of Ministry of Education and Culture number 23 of 2015 concerning the cultivation of character strengthens the efforts to establish the culture of literacy.

Abstract

Reliable and qualified Human Resources (HR) can be realized through improving the quality of education where this can be achieved through literate HR. High literacy skills will produce creativity in the form of new ideas or ideas that are useful for solving problems. Children with concentration disorders such as ADHD need learning stimulation that can help increase creativity through literacy. So it is necessary to develop literacy models in order to increase the creativity of children with ADHD to be more optimal. Literacy models that can be developed include: 1) Multisensory literacy models; 2) the play therapy model and 3) the personal-social guidance model. The right literacy model will help children minimize and reduce the symptoms of ADHD which in turn can focus on developing interests and talents to be more creative.
