Abstract

HIV testing is the most important entry point in HIV/AIDS prevention, care, support, and treatment services. In implementing HIV/AIDS and STI control, the government recommends re-testing for HIV at least once every 6 months in groups with high-risk behavior. However, the coverage of HIV testing in key populations vulnerable to HIV infection, including Direct Female Sex Workers (DFSW) is still low. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with HIV testing behavior among DFSW. The sample in this study amounted to 103 people. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate multiple logistic regression methods. The test results showed that the source of the information was related to HIV testing (p-value 0.045); odds ratio 4.401. Peer support was related to HIV testing (p-value 0.023) odds ratio 5.22. Support from field officers was related to compliance with HIV testing (p-value 0.000); odds ratio 19.02. There are two confounding variables, namely health worker support (p-value 0.28); odds ratio 3.747 and attitude (p-valule 0.242); odds ratio 0.461 as a protective factor. From the results of the analysis, it was found that field staff variables had more influence on HIV testing. Efforts to improve HIV testing behavior are carried out by increasing the number of information sources that are presented as attractive as possible. The role of field officers and peers as partners in encouraging DFSW to carry out HIV testing needs to be increased.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is affecting global health issues. The interaction between Covid-19 patients and Tuberculosis makes it the number one cause of death worldwide. Numerous deaths caused by Covid-19 are reported every day in Indonesia, leading to a reduced number of TB patients who require routine treatment to health services in the community. Therefore, this review aimed to identify challenges in treatment services for TB patients during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study design used was a systematic review to identify the challenges in treatment services for TB patients during the Covid-19 pandemic. The challenges are a low-capacity health system, lack of knowledge about health, less-optimum treatment for TB patients due to social restrictions, limited regular visits to health services, and low TB case detection. To prevent negative impacts in reduced treatment for TB patients, telemedicine can be used, proper knowledge can be provided through social media, and consistent policies can be implemented to strengthen the weakening health system.

Abstract

Breastfeeding is one of the first steps for a human being to get a healthy and prosperous life. UNICEF states that IMD is one of 10 steps towards successful breastfeeding that will have a positive impact on the health of mothers and babies. Babies who are allowed to breastfeed early are eight times more successful in exclusive breastfeeding and breastfeeding for a long time until the age of 2 years. This study aims to determine the effect of the development of the standby husband model on the husband's support in preparation for the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation. This type of research is a quantitative (analytic) research method using a quasi-experimental design with a post-test-only control group design. The research subjects were husbands of multigravida mothers with a gestational age of 32 weeks with a total of 94 people. Collecting data using primary data. Univariate data analysis using percentages and bivariate analysis using chi-square. The results showed that there was an effect of developing the standby husband model by giving a pocketbook to the husband's support in preparation for the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) with a p-value of 0.01, Suggestions are addressed to midwives who provide services to pregnant women and maternity mothers to include husbands in preparation for the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation by providing information about the need for husband's support in preparation for the implementation of IMD through the provision of pocketbooks.

Abstract

Babies who are not breastfed will be susceptible to infectious diseases. In 2016 the exclusive breastfeeding rate in South Lampung Regency was 49.76% while in 2018 it decreased to 47.08%. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of torbangun leaf decoction on breast milk production in postpartum mothers. The research design used is a true experimental design, researchers can control all external variables that affect the course of the experiment. Researchers conducted measurements before and after the treatment/intervention was given to the treatment group/experimental group. By giving Torbangun leaf steeping water to determine its effect on breast milk production in postpartum mothers, there is an effect on breast milk production for breastfeeding mothers after consuming Torbangun leaf drink. The results of the study obtained data that the dependent t-test obtained a t-count value of 17.169 with a p-value of 0.000. It can be seen that the p-value indicates that there is a significant difference in milk production before and after the administration of the torbangun leaf drink. The average milk production of breastfeeding mothers as seen from the baby's weight in the control group was 108.3 grams. The average milk production of breastfeeding mothers as seen from the baby's weight in the experimental group was 356.6 grams. There is an effect of breastfeeding mothers' milk production after consuming torbangun leaf drink.

Abstract

Anxiety experienced by the elderly in Indonesia is very high. Anxiety disorders in the elderly reach 5.5%, which is often experienced by those aged 60 years and over. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation techniques and reminiscence therapy on the level of anxiety in the elderly. This research is a quasi-experimental study, with a total sampling technique of 30 respondents who were divided into 2 groups. The instrument in this study used HARS. Data analysis using paired samples test and GLM. The results showed a decrease in anxiety levels after the intervention with p-value=0.000. The results obtained in these two interventions were a p-value of 0.000<0.05, it can be concluded that there was a change in the value of decreasing anxiety in the elderly before and after the progressive muscle relaxation technique and reminiscence therapy was carried out. Suggestions for further researchers need to do similar research with the addition of a larger number of respondents. Therefore, intervention was carried out not in groups, and different sample criteria were carried out to get maximum results.

Abstract

Characteristics are factors that contribute to the recurrence factor, this can have an impact on decreasing the quality of life for both patients and families. This study aims to determine the characteristic factors that influence recurrence in schizophrenic patients. The method used in this study is a cross-sectional approach with a sampling technique using the purposive sampling method, the number of samples obtained in 81 patients. The research instrument used a sociodemographic questionnaire and the frequency of recurrence. Bivariate analysis using Fisher's test. The results indicate that the respondents are in late adulthood 55 (45,5%), with most of them being female 42 (51,9%), with the last education being SMA/SMK 42 (51,9%) and a small portion not working/housewife 32 (39,5%). The frequency of recurrence was in the low category 47 (58%). There was a correlation between age characteristics and relapse of schizophrenia patients (p-value<0,05), but statistically, no significant correlation was found on the characteristics of sex, education, and occupation. Patient characteristics are part of the factors that cause recurrence, however, adherence to medication and good family support can minimize the incidence of recurrence and improve quality of life.

Abstract

The problem that often occurs in post-partum mothers after giving birth is the occurrence of breast swelling where there is a narrowing of the lactiferous ducts or the glands are not completely emptied or due to abnormalities in the nipples such as blisters or sinking nipples. Aloe vera gel compresses and cabbage leaves are useful to help reduce pain, swelling, and tenderness in wounds. This study aims to analyze aloe vera compresses and breast care compared to cabbage leaf compresses and breast care on breast swelling in postpartum mothers. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test post-test non-randomized control group design. The non-probability sampling technique is a consecutive sampling type. The research sample for each group was 15 respondents at one of the Central Lampung Health Centers in June-October 2020. The type of data analysis was the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that the average swelling of the breasts before being given an aloe vera compress was 4.53 and the average after being given an aloe vera compress was 2.47. The mean breast swelling before compressing cabbage leaves was 5.00 and after compressing cabbage leaves was 3.60. Giving aloe vera compresses is effective in preventing breast swelling in postpartum mothers with a p-value
