Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) Knowing the implementation of academic supervision to improve the ability of teachers in teaching and learning activities in SMA Negeri 3 Batam. (2) Analyzing an increase in the ability of teachers in the process of teaching and learning activities through the implementation of academic supervision in SMA Negeri 3 Batam. This research is a classroom action research. The research design uses the Kemmis & Tagart stages which consist of 4 stages (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) Observation, and (4) Reflection. The subjects in this study were students of class X in the academic year 2017/2018. The number of students as the study population was 350 students consisting of 35 students each from class X. Data collection techniques using test techniques and observation sheets. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis. The results of the study concluded that (1) Principal's academic supervision was carried out effectively to improve the ability of teachers, especially professional competence in the teaching and learning process in schools. (2) Teachers' academic supervision is basically to make some improvements, including students having critical thoughts, so that they can discuss with fellow teachers and students more deeply and can prove teacher performance, and the achievement of learning objectives in the curriculum. The principle of academic supervision is carried out regularly, on the basis of mutual consultation to build professional teacher coordination and creativity. School principals are advised to further improve supervision such as monitoring and guiding teachers, supervising intensity in schools and guidance in meeting the goals of National Education in order to improve learning in the classroom as a form of maximum service to students at school.

Abstract

Sports facilities and infrastructure in schools in Indonesia still do not receive special attention from the government and society. Sports facilities and infrastructure in all public high schools in Aceh Besar have not been properly surveyed, so that the need for sports facilities and infrastructure in each school is not met with certainty. This study aims to determine the existence and condition of sports facilities and infrastructure in SMA Negeri Aceh Besar in the 2014/2015 academic year. The approach in this research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the type of evaluation. The population in this study amounted to 28 public high schools, and the sample in this study amounted to 18 public high schools. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews and observations. The results of the data analysis show that: In all SMA Negeri Aceh Besar there is not a single public SMA that meets the standard of use or completeness of sports facilities and infrastructure. There are 141 sports facilities and infrastructure that are not available in SMA Negeri Aceh Besar, including: sports facilities totaling 79 types and sports infrastructure totaling 62 types. Sports facilities and infrastructure that are lacking in SMA Negeri Aceh Besar are 471 types, including sport facilities totaling 263 types and sports infrastructure totaling 208 types. The condition of sports facilities and infrastructure in SMA Negeri Aceh Besar is generally not good. It is hoped that the Aceh Besar Government will be able to complete sports facilities and infrastructure in schools, in realizing outstanding students in school-level sports events at the same level.

Abstract

Along with technological advances, the Government also made an agreement on the enactment of a single market in Asia known as the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA). In the face of MEA, teachers must have more ability in order to compete in the field of work and also able to produce students who are able to compete. This task is not light for the Government, especially for the teacher himself. For that purpose this research is done so that teacher have insight about what, who, why, how, when, and where the MEA. Especially to face the MEA that has been effective starting January 1, 2016 and then, there is no specific information about the perception and attitudes of teachers towards the implementation of the MEA. The importance of knowing the perceptions and attitudes of high school mathematics teachers in Banda Aceh is due to the perception and attitude of the mind-set that can lead to one's actions and treatment. Mapping perceptions and attitudes of high school mathematics teachers in Banda Aceh became a necessity for the program to be run by the Government to assist high school mathematics teachers in Banda Aceh appropriate and on target. After the research, the results obtained in the form of mapping the perception and attitude of high school math teachers in Banda Aceh. In general, the perception and attitude of the mathematics teacher in Banda Aceh is that the MEA never existed, the MEA is not something that needs attention, and does not want to know about the applicable MEA competition.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity of the development of multimedia learning physics with a multiple-representation approach to reduce misconceptions on the material momentum and impulses This research is a development study with ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research using descriptive analysis techniques, i.e., with the yield on the validity of multimedia learning by using instruments of validation, Multimedia learning has been through a phase test validity by subject matter experts with an average percentage of 95.83% with very valid criteria, a media expert at 82.64% with very valid, and learning experts of 81.25% with a very valid, so that multimedia teaching physics with multiple representations valid approach used as a medium of learning in the classroom.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims: 1) To determine the application of the Examples Non Examples Model in improving students’ skills in compiling the text structure reports; 2) To determine the increase in compiling the text structure of the report in improving the students' skills in compiling the text structure of the report through the application of Model Examples Non Examples This research was conducted using an interactive qualitative model and a class action research approach to PTK (class action research) which was conducted in 2 cycles. Each cycle included planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this classroom action research were students of class IX.8 odd semester SMP Negeri 2 Lubuk Pakam Kab. Deli Serdang. The results indicated that there was an increasing in the learning outcomes achieved by students in mastering the material. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that in cycle 1 the students' learning completeness in this material was only 63.00, while in cycle 2 by applying the Examples Non-Examples Model learning strategy increased in cycle 2 the average value increased to 77.67.

Abstract

This study entitled "The Education Value of  Love in the Prophet Household Life". Love is a potential feeling that exists since a man was born but needs to be developed further in order to have a strong sense to love  the people around and his family, it also have to be developed and mentored in order to improve human character. However the households nowadays do not reflect the Prophet teachings. Even husband and wife who were married themselves do not understand the meaning of marriage itself, marriage is supposed to a husband and wife should love each other, educating their children, because education should be implemented first in the family. Wives nowadays much complain to the material things, that should not be done by a wife, otherwise they had to be grateful for every pleasure given by Allah, as exemplified by Khadija, who never complained even though she lived in a shortage life. Based on the problems above, the research questions of this thesis are: How the analysis pattern of education in the Prophet household?. How forms of affection in relationship educational value ?. How affectionate behavior in the household and educational value ?. How the application values of the Prophet household affection in contemporary education ?. The Method that used in  this research is a literature study (library research) using primary and secondary data sources, then the data were analyzed using descriptive method of analysis of the available data documentation. The results of the research in this study is the analysis patterns of education in the Prophet household which shows that education have to be applied first in the family, because family is the first foundation in forming children character.

Abstract

The ability to read is the basic need for children's progress. Because it needs to be developed early since children are still in kindergarten. The efforts to improve children's reading Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh in 2018. This study was aimed to determine whether children's reading ability at the Al-Muhajirin Lamnyong Gumpong Rukoh Syiah Kuala District can be improved by using picture-word cards. The subjects of this study were 22 children, consisting of 12 boys and 10 girls. The method was used with the technique of giving action, namely the use of picture-word cards to read. The actions were conducted in 2 cycles and each cycle consisted of 3 meetings (3 weeks). The parameters observed were reading ability. The data collection instrument used was the observation sheet. The results showed that the ability of children to read at the Al-Muhajirin Lamnyong Gampong Rukoh Syiah Kuala District, Banda Aceh could be improved with picture-word cards..

Abstract

Educational supervision is an activity carried out by supervisors through the process of mentoring, coaching, providing information and knowledge to the teachers and headmaster as an effort to improve and to increase the competency, performance, quality of learning, professional development, and achievement of educational objectives. This study aims to describe the urgency of supervision implementation in educational institutions. This study used literature review approach: it is the description of theory and result of research that has been conducted as the research foundation. Supervision would be conducted democratically, comprehensively, constructively, objectively, and continuously through collegial, clinical, individual and artistically approach which are appropriate with the condition of the educational institutions. Supervision is important to do because through the supervision, it would motivate and improve the performance of headmaster, teachers, and other staffs, improve and develop the quality of education, and also achieve the educational objectives. The supervisors in carrying out the duties and functions should role as the consultant, coordinator and lead evaluator by creating harmonious relationship, honest, cooperative, patient, and a role model with other good attitudes.

Abstract

The purpose of the research in the design of this pseudo experiment investigated the improvement of students' math problem solving skills using problem solving approach. This research was conducted at State Elementary School 3 Seunuddon as many as 40 students. This research is an experimental study with one group pre-test-post-test design. The population in this study were all students of class V (five) by taking samples of two classes through random sampling technique. Data obtained through math problem solving test. Data were analyzed with Anava. Before used Anava first test homogeneity in research and normality in this study with a significant level of 5%.The result of data analysis shows that F on learning factor of Problem Solving and Learning Approach is 15,930 with significance value 0.000 smaller than level of significance 0,05 so Ho is rejected.Thus it can be concluded that there is an increase in problem solving skills of students using Problem Solving Approach is significantly better than that of students with ordinary learning.The researcher suggests: (1) in order to model the Problem Solving Approach to be an alternative for teachers in improving students' math problem solving abilities (2) learning tools are well prepared and adapted to capability indicators and time allocations to be achieved (3) to be selective in choosing materials Is taught by Problem Solving Approach because not all suitable material is applied with Problem Solving Approach
