<![CDATA[Forecasting technology is one way that can be used to predict product life cycle. Product life cycle is very important to know, especially by organizations, that are in small medium level, like SME. This research will be conducted in SME Surya Usaha Mandiri, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta.Forecasting product life cycle that has been done, will direct this research toward the stage of product development. Stages of development of the products are a necessary stage for an organization, especially in SME, to innovate the product. The purpose of this research is to propose the development of products, such as the stages of innovation that can be done in SME Surya Usaha Mandiri, forecasting conducted based on life cycle assessment of products and technology components using technometric model. The results of this research are proposed innovation based forecasting and product life cycle assessment in SME Surya Usaha Mandiri using technometric model. <![CDATA[Information technology plays a major role to enhance service activities in organizations as well as in higher educational institutions / universities. A special unit (Sisfo) at University X is dedicated to handles daily technology-based services. Every year the performance of the unit is evaluated to increase customer satisfaction and yet the result is contradictory. Using balanced scorecard, the result showed that the unit's performance is in a good category, but when it comes to the satisfaction questionnaire the result said otherwise. This puzzling result due to not so appropriate tools of measurement for the unit’ services.
This study conducted performance measurement using IT SERVQUAL to tap the perceived service and expected service of the Sisfo Unit’, form the eyes of the students as the largest customers, on the 6 dimensions: tangibles, responsiveness, reliability, assurance, emphaty and usability. Service dimensions that require immediate action are physical facilities such as hardware and software that are up to date, and processes related to academic activities such as failure to enter into a system, card recording errors, and students’ presence list errors.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this study is to discover the perspectives of cloud providers towards cloud computing adoption in Malaysia in terms of the challenges faced by cloud providers and reasons for the adoption. Data were collected through semi structured interviews with three cloud providers. The findings indicated security concern, difficulties in learning cloud computing infrastructure, changes in IT roles, high cost of bandwidth and life span of IT equipment as challenges faced by cloud providers in providing cloud service in Malaysia. This study also discovered cloud scalability, end-to-end management, high level security, and customizable as the reasons on cloud computing adoption. <![CDATA[A set of questionnaires was designed to study the current state of requirement reuse practices in Malaysia. This paper describes the design of the survey on requirement reuse practice instrument, and the assessment of its reliability and validity. Cronbach’s Alpha test was used to check on its reliability and respondents’ feedback, to assess the level of understanding, the level of difficulty in responding and the level of relevancy to the subject area including the duration taken to complete the questionnaire. Results from the feedback suggested three main issues that need to be looked upon as a way to improve the instrument design. Future efforts will focus on improving the structure and contents of the questionnaire in order to achieve higher reliability and better number of responses to study on requirement reuse]]>

<![CDATA[Service-learning pedagogy provides practical learning experience for students by integrating community service with academic learning. However, experience is not enough, reflection on that experience is essential to produce new understanding. The concept of collaborative reflection has been recognized recently however, there is lack of research on how to structure guided collaborative reflection to view the process of knowledge building and how technologies can support it. To shed light on this issue, this study proposed a computational workflow of structured collaborative reflection which is adopted from integrated collaborative reflection model and implement a prototype (i.e. named as ‘Co-Reflective’) to proof the concept how Computer Supported Collaborative Reflection System (CSCRS) is supporting collaborative critical thinking and knowledge building. For this purpose, design science research methodology was employed in this study. The evaluation of Co-Reflective is provided where we asked our participants to evaluate their experience and give feedback about system. Based on the positive feedback of participants we conclude that Co-Reflective can effectively support for guided collaborative reflection activities to promote collaborative critical thinking and knowledge building. <![CDATA[Learning style (LS) is a description of the attitudes and behaviors which determine an individual’s preferred way of learning. Since each student has different LS, it is important for the teacher to recognize the differences in LS. Thus, an appropriate technique to detect students' LS, improve the motivation and academic achievement are required. The common approach using questionnaires to identify LS is less accurate due to complete the questionnaire is a tedious task for students and tend to choose answers randomly without understanding the questions. Emotions such as anger, sadness, and happiness resulting the different questionnaire answers. Due to the approach constrains, this study has focused on automated approaches that identify student LS from student behavior in the learning process. Implementation of decision support system (DSS) as automated application systems is needed to help teachers make decisions in determining students' LS. Thus, the objective of this study is to propose the architecture of LS detection automatically using decision support system. The development of the architecture is applying the behavioral modelling, that are contained student’s behavior parameters for visual-auditory-kinesthetic (VAK) model. Evaluation of the architecture is tested with the precision DSS engine. The accuracy of the rule technique achieves significant 80% accuracy. <![CDATA[Insider threats become one of the most dangerous threats in the cyber world as compared to outsider as the insiders have knowledge of assets. In addition, the threats itself considered in-visible and no one can predict what, when and how exactly the threat launched. Based on conducting literature, threat in Automated Manufacturing Execution Systems (AMESs) can be divided into three principle factors. Moreover, there is no standard framework to be referring which exist nowadays to categorize such factors in order to identify insider threats possible features. Therefore, from the conducted literature a standard theoretical categorization of insider threats framework for AMESs has been proposed. Hence, three principle factors, i.e. Human, Systems and Machine have considered as major categorization of insider threats. Consequently, the possible features for each factor identified based on previous researcher recommendations. Therefore, via identifying possible features and categorize it into principle factors or groups, a standard framework could be derived. <![CDATA[PT XYZ is one of the mining companies in Indonesia that has many subsidiaries. From user interviews, there’s a problem in carrying out daily transactions in the procurement process. There is no integration between departments when using existing applications, lots of inappropriate data, and some documents with missing files. Thus causing data not on time and working time. The analysis was carried out using a conceptual model to see the problems and needs in PT XYZ. ERP system needs to be implemented, coordinating the company’s business processes and reset the company’s infrastructure and standardization. The ERP system in the material management module will be implemented using the ASAP method because this method is tailored to the company. The ASAP method can describe implementation activities to support project management and data migration faster than other implementation methods.]]>

<![CDATA[To date, public sector organisation begin to implement the digital workplace as part of their digital government initiative but yet there is proven the success of its implementation and how it impacts the government operation effectiveness. Therefore, based on a Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, this paper aims to investigate the current landscape, issues and challenges in workplace digitalization in public sector organization. A comparative analysis of the digital workplace approach was performed on nine Malaysian Public Sector organisations of the various business core function. This study found that there are nine factors related to digital workplace implementation. The main finding revealed that most organisation are not fully optimizing the digital workplace functionality and only using it as a digital repository. Based on this finding, significantly it can contribute the development of a new digital workplace framework for public sector organization in ensuring its contribution to operational effectiveness]]>
