Abstract

Breast cancer is a breast disorder that is most feared by women, because this disease cannot be cured if found at an advanced stage. An effective effort to find breast cancer early is one of them is BSE (Self Breast Examination). The lack of information and efforts to publicize breast cancer early detection has led to the discovery and treatment of cancer that has not been managed properly. One effort to provide information about BSE to young women is through health education. This type of research is quasi-experimental research. The design used was pretestt-posttest with control group design. The population of all high school female students YASPEND PABA Binjai, samples were taken 50 respondents using simple random sampling technique, divided into two, namely 25 as the control group and 25 as the treatment group. The statistical test used is the Mann Whitney test with α = 5%.From the data analysis, it was found that there was an effect of health education about BSE on knowledge (p = 0,000) and the attitude (p = 0,000) of respondents in the effort of early detection of breast cancer. It is recommended for the school to work with the Health Office through the Binjai City Education Office to organize counseling activities on BSE. so that teenagers can apply BSE routinely in daily life as an effort to detect breast cancer early.

Abstract

Stunting is one form of nutritional abnormalities in terms of body size characterized by a short body condition to exceed the -2SD deficit below the WHO standard. This study aims to determine the effect of consumption habits of energy sources, protein, and zinc to the incidence of stunting in school-aged children in Tanjung Langkat Village Kecamatan Salapian Kabupaten Langkat. This research is an observational analytic research with case control design. The number of research samples were 29 cases and 29 controls selected using stratified random sampling method. Data of energy consumption habits, protein, and zinc was done by interview using 24 hour food recall form and form food frequency and stunting data obtained from measurement of body height by using microtoise which processed by using Software WHO Anthroplus. Data analysis was done by univariante analysis, bivariate analysis, and multivariate analysis by using chi-square test and logistic regression test. The result of the analysis showed that there were three variables that had significant relation on the stunting event, energy consumption habits (p=0.036; OR=3.109), protein consumption habits (p=0.035; OR=3.148) and zinc consumption habits (p=0.002; OR=5,971). The most dominant factor influencing the stunting event is the consumption habit of zinc source with Exp. (B)=5.737. It is advisable to improve the provision of information and understanding to children and parents about the importance of consuming food sources of energy, protein, and zinc as well as expected to parents to pay attention and familiarize children consuming diverse types of food and suggested to the school to cooperate with puskesmas provide counseling related to the consumption of balanced nutritious foods, especially those that play a role in the growth of children.

Abstract

Humans live most of their lives in bed. In general, staying in bed does not cause problems, it will cause problems if humans do not have enough rest (night rest). During sleep, humans rebuild their energy. Problems will arise if someone who is suffering from an illness takes too long to rest in bed (Stevens, 2010). Based on the experience of researchers during the practice at the Djoelham Binjai General Hospital, there are still patients with bed rest who experience pressure sores, especially in patients who have been lying too long. This is due to the high burden of nurses, while bed rest patients have a very high dependence on nurses due to a lack of knowledge of patients about the procedure of changing positions while lying in bed, from 55 patients who had bed rest long enough to find 30 of them had pressure sores. The type of research used is descriptive with a survey method which aims to find out "The Relationship between Patients' Knowledge of Tiring Baring that Is Too Long With Decubitus Events in General Hospital Djoelham Binjai in 2017". Based on Table 5. It can be seen the results of the research conducted show that the majority of patients lying too long who experience decubitus wounds in the General Bangkat Hospital djoelham Binjai 2017 have a level of knowledge that is as much as 20 people (66.6%) .This proves that due to lack of knowledge patients who lie too long about pressure sores, the incidence of pressure sores in patients lying too late will increase. Keywords: Knowledge of bed rest patients, Decubitus.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the second largest that attacks women in Indonesia and the number one killer in the world. One of the early detection methods of breast cancer is breast selfexamination. Most women do not do self-examination due to their lack of knowledge of breast self-examination. The objective of this research is to investigate effect of the health education of breast self-examination as an early detection for cancer on the knowledge and attitude of female students of State Vocational High School 1 of Karanganyar. This research used the quantitative pre-experimental research method with the pretestposttest design. The samples of the research were taken by using the cluster sampling technique. They consisted of 31 respondents. The data of the research were analyzed by using Wilcoxon’s test and McNemar’s Test. The result of the test shows that the value of p for the variable of Knoweldge is 0.000 and that of p for the variable of attitude is 0.000, meaning that there is an effect of the health education of breast self-examination as an early detection for cancer on the knowledge and attitude of female students of State Vocational High School 1 of Karanganyar. Therefore, the following researchers in the same field are recommended to compare between the health education with lecturing and demonstration methods and the health education with lecturing and video methods two groups, namely: Control Group and Experimental Group.

Abstract

Poor nutrition causes the prevalence of stunting (short children) to be very high, affecting one in three children 12 - 60 months, which is a proportion of public health problems according to the criteria of the World Health Organization (WHO). The Tanjung Langkat Health Center report on infectious diseases suffered by children under five in the Tanjung Langkat Health Center working area, ARI and Diarrhea is quite high among toddlers, namely 17.7% and 29.8%. This research is an analytic research study with case control design, which is an analytic study concerning how risk factors are studied using a retrospective approach. In other words, the effects (illness or health status) are identified at this time, then identified risk factors exist or occurred in the past. The results showed that children aged 12-60 months who had low birth weight and got stunting in the working area of Tanjung Langkat 58 Padang Puskesmas in 2015 were 15 people (48.39%), while normal children who suffered stunting were 16 people (51, 61%). This research is not in line with other studies which say that stunting children have more history of low birth weight. It is expected that Puskesmas Tanjung Langkat health workers will get children born with low birth weight, so health workers provide information that they have a risk of suffering from stunting (short), and are advised to maintain their health and pay attention to their parenting.
