Abstract

Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that grows inside the cervix (the lowest part of the uterus attached to the top of the vagina). A Pap smear is a method in which a cell is taken from the cervix and examined under a microscope. Any woman who is 18 years old, or a woman who has been sexually active should begin a Pap smear. This check should be done every year, although there are no symptoms of cancer. An examination of more than a year if it reaches the age of 65 years or three previous consecutive checks shows normal results. Abstract

Based on the data from the Central Bureau of Statistics in 2014, the population of the elderly reached 20.24 million or 8.03% of the whole Indonesian people. The older a person is, the more vulnerable he is to degenerative diseases, and one of them is dyslipidemia. The objective of the research was to find out the risk factor for the incidence of dyslipidemia and to determine the value of Odds Ratio of risk factor for dyslipidemia. The research used case-control study design. The data were gathered from patients’ medical records and from the respondents. The samples were 135 respondents with 45 of them were in case group and 90 of them were in control group. The result of bivariate analysis showed that all independent variables were correlated with the incidence of dyslipidemia (p<0.05). The result of multivariate analysis showed that the variable which had the most dominant correlation  was smoking habit at p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05) and OR-value = 9.929 (85% CI 3.428-28.762) which indicated that smoking habit was the most influential risk factor for the incidence of dyslipidemia in the elderly. Keywords: The Elderly, Dyslipidemia, Gender, Obesity, Diabetes Mellitus, Smoking

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive and sexuality health in Indonesia is still low, this can be seen from the many cases of pregnancy out of wedlock, violence during courtship and abortion with high-risk drugs. The understanding of adolescents about reproductive health is the provision of adolescents in healthy and responsible behavior. But not all teenagers get information about reproductive health. This limitation of knowledge and understanding can bring teenagers towards risky behavior. This is a lack of information about sexuality and reproduction. Cadres health has a big role in realizing the optimal level of community health. Community service is carried out in two (2) junior high schools, namely Dharma Pancasila Private Junior High School (260 students and 21 cadres trained) and Al-Fhatiyan Private Middle School Medan (199 students and cadres trained by 16 students). The method used is by: 1. counseling with material on adolescent reproductive health; 2. cadre training; 3. Cadre mentoring. Evaluation of program success: pre test and post test cadres and student participants. Based on the results of the questionnaires distributed to students, the majority of data was 13 years old (47.5%), male sex (54%), high school parents education (62%) and entrepreneurial work (96.6%). The results of the dependent test obtained data, average knowledge before health education 26.23 and after health education39.58. The mean difference is 13,349 and the standard deviation is 3,911 and 95% CI 13,707-12,990. Based on the results of statistical tests obtained P = 0.001, it can be concluded that there is an influence of adolescent reproductive health cadres on student knowledge. For attitudes obtained data on average attitudes before counseling 27.57 and after counseling 39.58. The mean difference is 13,349 and the standard deviation is 3,802 and 95% CI 12,362 - 11,664. P value = 0.001 it can be concluded that there is an influence of adolescent reproductive health cadres on student attitudes. This PKM activity is useful in increasing knowledge and attitudes towards adolescent reproductive health. With increased knowledge of the behavior of adolescents to risky sexual behavior, and if the attitudes of adolescents towards sexual behavior are good, it is expected that sexually well and adolescents are expected to be responsible for their reproductive healthKeywords: cadres, education, health, reproduction, adolescents

Abstract

Breast cancer is a non-contagious disease, currently a major health problem both in the world and in Indonesia. The incidence of breast cancer is believed to be related to several risk factors. This study aims to determine the relationship of reproductive factors (age of menarche, parity and history of breastfeeding) with the incidence of breast cancer in women. Case control research was carried out at DR. M. Djamil Padang with univariate and bivariate analysis using Chi-square test. Of the 72 samples (36 cases and 36 controls) it was found that respondents with menarche age were 80.6% at risk in the case group and 19.4% in the control group, respondents with risk parity were 33.3% in the case group and 66 , 7% in the control group, respondents with a breastfeeding history were at risk of 65.6% in the case group and 34.4% in the control group. There is a relationship between age of menarche and history of breastfeeding with the incidence of breast cancer. There is no relationship between parity and the incidence of breast cancer. Strengthen health promotion efforts as an effort to prevent breast cancer. Keywords: Reproductive factors, breast cancer

Abstract

Stroke is one of the serious health problems in modern life today. The prevalence of stroke increases with age. The World Health Organization (WHO) stipulates that stroke is a clinical syndrome with symptoms of global brain dysfunction that can cause death or abnormalities to persist for more than 24 hours, without other causes except vascular disorders which can cause a person's reduced mobility due to muscle strength downhill. This study aims to determine the effect of ROM (range of motion) on limb muscle strength in non-Hemaoragic stroke patients at H. Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan. Quasi-experimental research design with a sample of 90 people. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using the Wilcoxon test. The significance of hand muscle strength before and after administration of ROM is 0,000. This means that there are differences in hand muscle strength before and after administration of ROM. The significance of leg muscle strength before and after administration of ROM is 0,000. This means that there are differences in leg muscle strength before and after administration of ROM. This proves that ROM influences the strength of the respondent's hand and leg muscles. Hospitals should set standard operating procedures for special handling of ROM so that the results obtained can be maximal and uniform for all muscle strength problemsKeywords: ROM, limb muscle strength, hands, feet
