Pedestrian Over Pass is one part of the pedestrian path that functions as a pedestrian crossing facility.Â Pedestrian Over Pass are located on highways with high vehicle intensity and railway lines. As a facilityÂ designated for pedestrians, the Pedestrian Over Pass should be effectively used. However, theÂ phenomenon that occurs at this time is that there are many Pedestrian Over Pass that are not used byÂ pedestrians, and they prefer to cross directly. Aside from not being used, many Pedestrian Over Pass areÂ damaged and do not meet the standards of provision. Likewise, what happened in the Merdeka Field areaÂ in Medan, there are several Pedestrian Over Pass that are not used and have been damaged and cannotÂ even be accessed. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting research related to theÂ effectiveness of using the Pedestrian Over Pass in the Merdeka Field area of Medan (Case study: JalanÂ Putri Hijau and Jalan Guru Patimpus). This study found that the effectiveness of using the Pedestrian OverÂ Pass in research are are Low.

The pedestrian pathway can interact socially between communities. A pedestrian should be able to ensure safety and comfort as well as aesthetic value for pedestrians. The pedestrian pathway is crucial in urban design elements, especially in areas with high activity levels. As in Taman Setia Budi Indah Football Field, the existing pedestrian path is not able to accommodate its users. Both of the pedestrian materials and pedestrian supporting elements do not meet the elements of comfort and security and aesthetic value. The researcher tries to find modeling of a pedestrian path in that area which fulfills the element of comfort, safe and aesthetic value. The research method used is a qualitative method of observation. The method is analyzed based on theoretical analysis based on the comparison of the variable that has been determined. Through the theoretical analysis found several criteria pedestrian that meets the elements of comfort. The results of the analysis are then made modeling pedestrian paths around the Football Field in Taman Setia Budi Indah in the form of additional pedestrian width and other supporting elements such as seating, lighting, bins etc. to improve the safety and comfort for the walkers and utilization of river potentials in the area such as the attraction when walking.

The purpose of this study was to find out the visitor's perception of the convenience of activities related to the presence of street vendors on Merdeka Square in Medan. The researcher collected data through the distribution of questionnaires consisting of three parts, namely in the first section containing Respondent Data, the second part contained eight Closed Questions, and in the third section contained four Open questions. This questionnaire was given to visitors to Merdeka Square as many as 45 respondents. The results of the Respondent's Answer are then tabulated, where each answer has an assessment weight. The first stage of processing the results of this assessment is to find the average analyzed based on Quartile on eight indicator variables, and test the validity of the questionnaire variables. Validity test is used to compare the correlation index r product moment Pearson with a significance level of 5%. which tells the assessment of all visitors to the presence of Street Vendors at Merdeka Square in Medan. The results of respondents' evaluations based on quartile analysis showed that the assessment score was at 958, which means that it was known that visitor perceptions of the presence of street vendors in Merdeka Square were quite negative. This is related to the convenience of Visitors in carrying out activities at Merdeka Square.

Merdeka Square is a public open space which is intended for all people. Public open space is a place as aÂ general basis where people carry out functional and ritual activities that bind the community, both in theÂ normal routine of daily life or in periodic celebrations. Merdeka Square is a place frequented by some ofÂ the citizens of Medan City. Even visitors from outside Medan came to take time to stop at Merdeka SquareÂ when certain events were held at Merdeka Square. This is what attracts people - certain people use theÂ crowd to become the potential to run a business. So it is not surprising that in the Merdeka Square area atÂ certain events and days it will be crowded not only with the presence of visitors to Merdeka Square, butÂ also the presence of the informall sector such as street vendors. The purpose of this study is to obtain orÂ produce a design proposal to organize the Street Vendors in the Merdeka Square Area in hopes ofÂ increasing comfort for visitors in the Merdeka Square Area.

Signage is one of the constituent elements of the city; there are so many types of signage, this study is limited to one type of signage only which is billboards. The diversity of existing billboards will be interesting when properly planned if the presence of billboards are not set properly and by its function than it is not impossible that the expected atmosphere can turn into an unpleasant atmosphere and damage the value of visual aesthetics. In the aesthetics there are harmony and contrast; as is a theory that supports the success of the design of public space regarding aesthetics is good to avoid the monotony and has a quality appeal. The research problem is how the billboards influence visual aesthetics on Ahmad Yani Medan road viewed from the aspect of harmony and contrast. Population in this research is billboards located along Jl. Ahmad Yani Medan. To complete the necessary data in this study, the researchers conducted data collection through observation and also the collection of related literature which became the main instrument in collecting primary data. This study is descriptive in which the data obtained in the field is collected and then analyzed, and the results described gradually in the form of writing. This study found that the influence of the existence of billboards along the road Ahmad Yani Medan has not fulfilled the aesthetic aspects in harmony and contrast.

It is true that Merdeka Square is accessible to everyone, can be used for various activities. In the context of behavior, space is said to be open if it allows people to act freely, can be visited and left freely and does not have the relationships needed for ownership, size, type of use, or landscape character. But City Public Open Space is not only based on that, but also there are qualitative values that must be maintained, namely access (achievement), compatibility (compatibility), views (views), identity (identity), sense (impression), and livability (convenience). This research produced a model for Merdeka Walk located in Merdeka Square, Medan.

Pedestrian paths are very important in urban design elements, especially trade areas. Similarly on Jl.Â Medan Railway Station and Jl. Medan Red Cross, but this need is not comparable to the conditions of theÂ pedestrian path on both roads which have been damaged and not maintained, causing inconvenience.Â Because of this, the researchers tried to find the concept of the pedestrian path to the two roads. TheÂ research method used is a qualitative descriptive method. Then the method is analyzed based onÂ theoretical and empirical analysis. Through the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis found severalÂ results in accordance with the hypothesis of the researcher. The results of the analysis are then made anappropriate concept on Jl. Medan Railway Station and Jl. Medan Red Cross.

A comfort open space has a function and a huge influence in housing because it becomes a means of activity throughout the housing dwellers. Debang Housing Taman Sari Medan is one of housing in Kecamatan Medan Selayang which has open space. The purpose of this research is to know the perception of occupant to the comfort of open space. There are several convenience factors that are used as indicators in research such as Circulation, Climate, Noise, Smell, Shape, Safety, Cleanliness, and Beauty. The research was done through qualitative descriptive analysis, where the data collection technique used questionnaire from the population and the specified sample. The process of collecting data, sampling technique until the criteria of research become an important process of research method. This study shows if the perception of occupants of the comfort of open space of housing Debang Taman Sari Medan is quite comfortable and needed supporting facilities for park users.

Samosir Regency does not yet have a habitable residence because of limited income, so many of the people live in the villages. In addition, the Samosir region is also an earthquake prone area. Researchers aim is to create livable houses that are able to meet the health requirements and meets the need of resident in Samosir Regency. The design also requires special research on healthy and earthquake-friendly house. The method that will be used in this design are 6 (six) steps, namely ideas / ideas, information, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and action. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, the use of red brick with a continuous foundation of river stone is the choice of a good structure for earthquake-friendly homes in Samosir district. This residential modeling also included the social elements of Batak Toba culture into it so that this housing could only be applied in the Samosir Regency area.

One of the interesting cultural potentials to be studied is traditional houses. This traditional house has its own uniqueness in every area. One of the uniqueness can be seen from the many ornaments in it. Diversity has its own meaning and function. Ornaments is one of the historical heritage of Indonesia where almost all the tribes in Indonesia can be found various kinds of ornaments that reflect the techniques of each region in Indonesia. Ornament Batak Toba is one of the many ornaments that exist in this country Indonesia. Toba Batak ornament can be found in North Sumatera Province precisely in Samosir regency which always apply Toba Batak ornament as decoration or as identity in important building for Batak Toba, for example in traditional house building in Huta Siallagan, Tomok Village and Huta Bolon.This research is classified in research using descriptive-comparative research method, doing the study by comparing the existing ornaments in these three villages with theories about Ornaments Gorga Rumah Adat Batak Toba, then do the analysis of the condition in accordance with the theory used as a reference
