Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the structure of diction on the poetry "Padamu Jua" by Amir Hamzah using structural analysis method. Poetry "Padamu Jua" is examined through data collection steps; (1) intensive reading of poetry "Padamu Jua", in (2) analyzing the structure of diction and describing it. After going through the process of structural analysis research, it appears that Amir Hamzah's effort to write this poem "Padamu Jua" selects certain words that are closely related to artistic expression of ideas.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulty of students in analyzing anecdotal text structures. This happens because students lack an understanding of the explanation of learning material caused by students' lack of focus when listening and lacking interest in reading. The formulation of the problem from this study is, is there a difference in the results of the posttest of learning analyzing the anecdotal text structure between the experimental classes applied by the STAD model and the control class that is applied to the discovery learning model? The purpose of this study was to find out the differences in students' abilities in analyzing anecdotal text structures using the STAD model with those using discovery learning models. This study used a quasi-experimental research method with a posttest-only control design research design. The research sample is one class as the experimental class and the other class as the control class. The research instrument used was the test sheet. The results showed that there were significant differences between the two classes. The average value in the control class is 53.0 with the smallest value of 20 and the highest value of 100. While the experimental class obtained the average value of 79.4 with the smallest value 0 and the highest value of 100. The results of the normality test using SPSS shows that the significance of 0.423. The results show that the data is homogeneous because the significance value is> 0.05, which is 0.436. The results of the T-test obtained a value of 0,000 <0.05. These results indicate that there are significant differences between the two samples.

Abstract

This study is a preliminary study to see the acquisition of children’s language in terms of syntax. The subject of the study was a native child of Sundanese language from Cilesang Bandung area. The data used for the analysis of this research is authentic data that is incised through audio recording. The data can be analyzed with three main features of the syntax aspects of paragraph length, sintactic structure and the number of speeches. The minimum Length of Utterance (MLU) estimation following Brown’s Stages of Development is used to determine the stage of development of children. From the analysis conducted in this study it can be seen that Fahlevi has MLU 1,21 which means being in phase II that is at the age should be. Based on research Fahlevi has been able to speak from one words which means Fahlevi has been able to tell the full sentence in his age.

Abstract

This study aims at (1) analysing the poem entitled Cermin 1semiotically (2) describing the results of the analysis of poem entitled Mirror 1 by Sapardi Djoko Damono and (3) defining the outline of the theme of the poem. Descriptive method is used to describe the contents of a poem. The poem Cermin 1 was analysed semiotically to acknowledge the meaning and signs of literary words so that the meaning could be conveyed to readers. The result shows that the poem has a function to declare something that is not textual, but the mirror only wants to show it, not voicing. Therefore, the shadow on the mirror can introspect itself because the shadow couldnever did such bad deeds. It can only be silenced in the mirror as a signified, with a mirror its signifier.

Abstract

Artikel ini berusaha untuk mengungkapkan ciri-ciri sastra postmodernisme dalam cerpen Penangkaran Binatang dan cerpen Adam Ma’rifat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-analisis. Hasil penelitian dari kedua cerpen tersebut menunjukkan bahwa adanya perwujudan sastra posmodernisme, yaitu tidak lagi terstruktur, tidak terikat, bersifat insidental, teks dibebaskan dari pemaknaan. Terdapat empat perbedaan fenomena sastra postmodernisme dari kedua cerpen tersebut yang berupa: dalam cerpen PB, (1) plot tidak jelas, (2) irama spontan dan dramatik lakonnya, (3) berbentuk campuran skizofrenik antara cerpen, esai, dan surat, dan (4) ambivalensi, tarik-menarik antara bercerita dengan berpuisi. Dalam cerpen AM, (1) ketidakrealibitasan tokoh aku, (2) bahasa tidak bisa mentransmisi pesan secara mudah, (3) cerpen kurang bisa terakses, (4) tidak mengikuti aturan hukum tengah, cerpen berbentuk satu kalimat dari 17 halaman.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the significant influence of the Investigation Group method of learning to know the ability to examine and write personal letters. The research method used is experimental method with pretest and posttest group design. The hypothesis proposed in this study can be proved true, because the hypothesis is applied using the statistical test turns out the average value of the students' experimental class ability in reviewing and writing personal letters using the Investigation Group method. The Investigative Group method significantly influences the ability to examine the elements and traits of the language as well as personal letter writing, it can be proved by the activeness of the students who use the Investigation Group method and can encourage and be creative in the students themselves.

Abstract

A poem is a kind of literature that is interested in all society. Not only for reading it, but some of them are interested to produce a poem. In the language thing, poem tends to free,  unbounded with the particular rules. The use of analogical terms makes us difficult to comprehend the hidden meaning inside it. This research is done to describe the meaning of the poem that saw with using semantic analysis that focuses on analyzing lexical meaning, grammatical meaning, reference meaning, and analogical meaning. The research method that we used is a descriptive qualitative method. The result discussion showed that poem can be analyzed using semantic. This poem tells the love story.

Abstract

This research is based on the low ability to write inspirational texts of students in junior high school. Thus, researchers offer a model of experiential learning as an alternative to teaching and learning so that learning can be more meaningful. In this case, the formulation of the problem taken in the research is how students respond to the use of experiential learning models? The study aims to determine students' responses to the experiential learning model. The method used is descriptive qualitative. From the data processing method in this study, the results of 9% of students' positive responses to the use of experiential lerning models were obtained.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mixed use of code in the Indonesian language among students IKIP Siliwangi Bandung. Language is an arbitrary and universal symbolism system of sound. The use of the first language is closely related to the conscious and natural acquisition of language. Without someone aware of the use of code mix is often in use while learning a second language. The method used is descriptive qualitative method, sampling of this research is Indonesian language education student IKIP Siliwangi by limiting 25 students of IKIP Siliwangi. The instrument used is a questionnaire created by google form. The method of this study shows that there is a significant influence on the use of language denied students IKIP Siliwangi Bandung. This research is expected to provide an overview to all parties involved so that it can improve the way of using the language appropriate for use in any situation.

Abstract

The research to discuss about using dialect Minang Language. At novel Terusir by Buya Hamka wuth using theory linguistics dialektologis social as a descriptive methods. In a novel Terusir consiset a Minang dialect language in daily activity. In this case have interpretation with Indonesian language in term of gramatical and lexical. Source of research Minang language in a novel Terusir by Buya Hamka using technique list that is writen and compared with Indonesian language. Analysis techniques in a research make a simple to understand utilized interpretation of Minang  language in Indonesian language. The result from the research be  found the same words, between dialect Minang in novel Terusir with Indonesian language in daily activiy. The quanty of different words between dialect Minang and Indonesian language it 12% word the percentage of utilized dialect Minang at the novel Terusir get 60 % (precents) this case indicate the work indine a using Minang language the  compare with Indonesian language. Althought this work is refresments by readers majority except Minang
