Abstract

Bagaimana Allah membenarkan orang-orang percaya di dalam proses keselamatan masih menjadi perdebatan di dalam kekristenan. Ada golongan yang berpandangan tindakan pembenaran Allah bersifat forensik dengan mengimputasikan kebenaran Kristus kepada seorang percaya sehingga ia mendapatkan status benar di hadapan Allah. Ada pula yang berpandangan pembenaran Allah itu bersifat moral dan transformatif dengan mengimpartasikan kebenaran Kristus di dalam diri orang percaya. Dan belakangan ini muncul pandangan New Perspective on Paul (NPP) yang merombak konsep pembenaran Allah tidak lagi bersifat forensik maupun etis, melainkan bersifat eklesiologis dengan memasukkan orang percaya di dalam komunitas umat Allah. Tulisan ini mengupas beberapa perikop kunci dari surat Paulus kepada jemaat di Roma guna memperlihatkan bahwa konsep kebenaran Allah dan karya pembenaran-Nya yang dipahami Paulus bersifat menyeluruh mencakup ketiga aspek tersebut. Kata-kata kunci: Kebenaran Allah, Pembenaran, Surat Roma, Paulus   How God justifies believers in the process of salvation is still under debate within Christianity. There are groups who view God’s justification as forensic by imparting the truth of Christ to a believer so that the believer attains a right status before God. Some view God’s justification as moral and transformative by imparting the truth of Christ in believers. And lately there is a New Perspective on Paul (NPP) that envisions overhauling the concept of God’s justification in that it is neither forensic nor moral, but is ecclesiological by including believers in the community of God’s people. This paper examines some key passages from Paul’s letter to the church in Rome to show that the concept of God’s truth and his justification, as understood by Paul, is comprehensive in that it encompasses all three aspects. Abstract

Diskusi teks Markus 1:41 merupakan salah satu diskusi teks yang paling menarik. Mayoritas sarjana menganggap bahwa bacaan σπλαγχνισθεὶς adalah bacaan sekunder, meskipun bacaan ini didukung oleh mayoritas saksi. Dalam tulisan ini, penulis akan menunjukkan bahwa bukti yang didapat dari analisis pregenealogical coherence makin memperkuat validitas bukti eksternal dalam mendukung bacaan σπλαγχνισθεὶς sebagai teks awal. Karena itu, bukti eksternal yang konklusif ini tidak boleh diabaikan begitu saja. Di akhir tulisan, penulis akan mendiskusikan secara singkat kemungkinan transkripsional (transcriptional probability) mengapa penyalin mengubah bacaan σπλαγχνισθεὶς menjadi ὀργισθείς. Kata-kata kunci: Kritik Teks Perjanjian Baru, Pregenealogical Coherence, Coherence-Based Genealogical Method, Markus 1:41, Teks Awal   Discussion as to the text of Mark 1:41 is one of the most interesting textual discussions. Although most witnesses support the primacy of the reading σπλαγχνισθεὶς, most scholars consider that the reading is secondary. In this paper, the writer intends to show that the pregenealogical coherence analysis on the text strengthens the validity of the external evidences in supporting σπλαγχνισθεὶς as the initial text. These conclusive external evidences, therefore, must not be set aside. At the end of this paper, the writer will discuss in brief as to why the scribes altered the reading σπλαγχνισθεὶς to be ὀργισθείς. Abstract

Teologi ialah disiplin ilmu yang berkembang secara dinamis, majemuk, dan progresif. Metode berteologi pada satu kurun waktu tertentu umumnya menjadi bagian dari dialektika tiada berujung metode berteologi baru yang dihasilkan. Tidak heran berbagai sintesis teologis diformulasikan demi mengarah kepada teologi yang prospektif. Anehnya, alih-alih bersifat prospektif, metode berteologi Oden bersifat retrospektif. Oden kembali kepada masa lalu, tepatnya kepada tulisan para bapa gereja. Yang menjadi masalah ialah apakah proposal Oden yang tertuang dalam metode berteologinya ini adalah proposal yang relevan, khususnya dalam konteks teologi yang majemuk di abad 21? Ini yang menjadi fokus penelitian penulis. Tulisan ini akan memaparkan dan menganalisis tiga metode yang amat kentara dalam metode berteologi Oden, yaitu teologi yang kembali kepada tulisan patristik, berakar pada warisan sejarah kekristenan Afrika awal, dan bermuara kepada penggembalaan. Melaluinya, penulis berharap mendapatkan analisis teologis yang objektif dan kontributif. Ini dikarenakan terlepas dari gerak prospektif metode berteologi pada umumnya, penulis meyakini bahwa metode berteologi Oden yang retrospektif tetap memiliki relevansi signifikan bagi konteks teologi abad 21. Kata-kata kunci: Metode Berteologi, Tulisan Patristik, Teologi Thomas C. Oden, Kekristenan Afrika Awal   Theology is a discipline that develops dynamically and progressively with complexity. The development of theological method in a certain time period generally becomes part of the dialectic without a clear maturation of the new method. No wonder various theological syntheses are formulated that lead to new prospective theologies. Interestingly, instead of being prospective, Oden’s theological method is retrospective. Oden has returned to the past—more precisely to the writings of the church fathers. The problem presented is whether or not Oden’s proposal, contained in his theological method, is a relevant proposal. Especially as it is formulated in the plurality of the theological context in the 21st century. This is the focus of the author’s research. This paper will describe and analyze the three most obvious aspects of Oden’s method of theology, namely a theology that returns to the patristic writings, is rooted in the historical legacy of early African Christianity, and pertains to pastoral shepherding. Through this study, the author hopes to contribute to objective theological analysis in the contemporary setting by developing a study on Oden’s retrospective theological method which has significant relevance for the 21st century theological context. Abstract

Penderitaan merupakan peristiwa yang dapat dialami setiap orang. Penderitaan telah membuat orang menangis, mempertanyakan atau bahkan meninggalkan Allah. Apakah penderitaan menjadi bukti bahwa Allah tidak ada? Bukankah kalau Allah ada maka penderitaan tidak ada? Apakah penderitaan menjadi bukti bahwa Allah sudah kalah dan tidak lagi berkuasa atas dunia? Artikel ini akan menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan tersebut melalui perspektif the already and the not yet dari rasul Paulus. Penulis menjelaskan bahwa penderitaan merupakan panggilan orang percaya karena berada di masa the already and the not yet, yaitu masa di mana Yesus Kristus telah menang atas kuasa dosa, kutuk alam semesta dan pemerintahan Iblis serta merupakan masa hadirnya pemerintahan Allah di dunia, meski semua ini belum mencapai kepenuhannya. Karena itu orang percaya tidak perlu takut atau meninggalkan iman Kristen. Kata-kata kunci: Penderitaan, Paulus, Eskatologi, The Already and the Not Yet, Ciptaan Baru, Pemerintahan Allah, Pemerintahan Iblis, Kuasa Dosa, Kutuk Alam Semesta    Suffering is something that is experienced by everyone. Suffering has made people cry out to God, question God or even leave God. Does suffering prove that God does not exist? Doesn’t God’s existence nullify suffering? Does suffering prove that God is impotent and no longer has power over the world? This article will address these questions through the framework of the already and the not yet schema developed by the apostle Paul. The author explains that suffering is a part of the call of believers because it is experienced between the time of the already and the not yet. A period when Jesus Christ has won over the power of sin, the curse of the universe and the government of Satan and is the time of God’s government in the world, even though all this has not yet reached fullness. Therefore, believers need not fear suffering nor leave the Christian faith because of it. Abstract

Pluralisme menjadi kesadaran baru yang menganggap bahwa semua keyakinan memiliki kesamaan secara umum satu dengan yang lain. Implikasinya, tidak ada satu pun agama yang boleh mengklaim bahwa ia adalah satu-satunya keyakinan yang paling benar di antara agama-agama lainnya. Indonesia sebagai negara pluralis juga menghadapi problematika pluralisme agama. Dalam menghadapi ini, muncul pemikiran Kristen pluralis yang menekankan persamaan di antara agama-agama sehingga meniadakan keunikan kekristenan: Kristus dan karya keselamatan-Nya benar sedangkan agama lainnya salah. Tulisan ini akan mengenalkan model berapologetika yang membela keunikan iman Kristen di tengah tantangan pemikiran Kristen yang pluralis tentang pluralisme agama di Indonesia: apologetika prasuposisional triperspektivalisme John M. Frame yang diuraikan melalui apologetika konstruktif (normatif), defensif (eksistensial), dan ofensif (situasional). Kata-kata kunci: Apologetika, Prasuposisional, Triperspektivalisme, John M. Frame, Aplikasi, Pluralisme Agama Pluralism exhibits a new awareness that assumes that all beliefs have general similarity when compared one with another. As a result, there is no religion that can claim that it has the claim to ultimate truth when compared with a host of other options. Indonesia, as a pluralistic nation, exhibits the challenges of religious pluralism. Because of that reality, there are frameworks of Christian thought that have arisen that emphasize the similarity of several religions which erodes and ultimately eliminates the uniqueness of Christianity. However, Jesus Christ and his work of salvation is absolutely true and the other religions are false. This article will introduce an apologetic model that can be used to defend the uniqueness of the Christian faith among the challenges of religious pluralistic thought in Indonesia. John M. Frame’s triperspectivalism presuppositional apologetics is proferred and developed through constructive apologetics (normative), defensive apologetics (existential), and offensive apologetics (situational).
