Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of behavioral counseling Ivan Pavlov with modeling techniques to improve the character of completing tasks well through lesson study on students first grade. This type of research is quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test control group design. The sample is 34 students with df 33. The method of collecting data uses a character questionnaire to complete tasks well as many as 30 items. The results of data analysis are t value tcount 26.60> ttable 2.03 so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So there are significant differences. It can be concluded that Ivan Pavlov's behavioral counseling is an effective modeling technique for improving character completing tasks well.

Abstract

This research aimed to (1) perform inventory career planning of students, and (2) measuring students career planning based on gender. Data analysis used Rasch model for 45 students with actual power measurement 0.9272652. The research findings showed (1) inventory career planning has been fit with the theoretic model, and (2) female student have a tendency to a higher career planning rather than male student. In the future, to measurement of student’s career planning by using this inventory can only produce a high measurement information for students who have a mediocre ability. Further, the researcher need to consider to eliminate item No. 12 in this inventory due to the biased towards the male gender.

Abstract

There search objective was to develop and validation of the inventory; Counselor Knowledge & Competences Post Disaster Inventory (CKCPDI). The sample used 44 kauselor in Indonesia. Validation constructs, person and reliability using RASCH Model analysis. The results from the item analysis showed that 56 items were tested usefully. The reliability coefficient Cronbach (KR-20) of CKCPDI was. 84. It concluded that the validity of CKCPDI was satisfying interm soft the measure of the Counselor Knowledge & Competences Post Disaster, and the construct of CKCPDI can be helpful and applicable for a counselor and ready used for the other research.

Abstract

Childhood trauma is a risk factor that influences the development of psychotic symptoms. Negative-self-schema is a psychological response to trauma, which is known to have impact on psychotic symptoms’ level, thus postulated as the underlying mechanism linking childhood trauma and psychotic symptoms together. This research used descriptive and correlational type of research. This study examined whether negative-self-schema mediates childhood trauma and psychotic symptoms, while controlling depressive symptoms as covariates. The study recruited 397 participants from community sample of Indonesians (25.4% male; Mage = 22.28, SD = 4.93) and was conducted through online survey. Through mediation analyses, results showed that negative-self-schema significantly mediated the relationship between childhood trauma and both positive (ab = 0.08; SE = 0.04; 95% CI [0.01, 0.17]), and negative (ab = 0.08; SE = 0.03; 95% CI [0.03, 0.14]) symptoms of psychosis. This explains the importance of considering schemas’ role in translating the effect of childhood trauma to psychotic symptoms.

Abstract

This research purposed to describe the results of AUM PTSDL and its use by Guidance and Counseling Teacher or Counselor for Guidance and Counseling services to students. This research used descriptive method with qualitative and quantitative approach. The instruments of research used AUM PTSDL Format 2, The format of BMB3 and guideline for interview. The results of research are analyzed statistically and narrative. This research shows that AUM PTSDL results of Senior High School students in Padang who became samples in form quality score of learning activities still very low or less is average 36.30% from ideal score, and also their learning problems pretty much is average 28,14% from number of learning problems that may exist. Response dynamics of BMB3 student to data of AUM PTSDL results are quite positive, means that students are aware of their flaws and eager to fix it. Guidance and Counseling Teacher or Counselor welcomes positively to awareness and enthusiasm of students accompanied prepare themselves in use AUM PTSDL and utilization results to improve the quality of their learning activities by Guidance and Counseling services, which organized through various types of services and their supporting activities in specific format. The school’s leadership have role in facilitating the implementation of Guidance and Counseling services and supports Guidance and Counseling Teacher or Counselor performance at school.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe of the accountability of Layanan Dasar school counselor on school principals’ perspective. The study used descriptive study methods, used sampling technique was convenience sampling with a sample of 33 school principals, and instruments used were Mixed Standard Scale for Evaluating Student Behavior and analysis data used descriptive. The results of the study show that overall the level of accountability of guidance and counseling programs in schools in East Jakarta is at a low level (49%). Second, achievements based on indicators are not significantly different (10%). Third, the highest indicator of accountability is the responsibility, while the lowest indicator is the feedback mechanism. Fourth, each school falls into the low category of 50%, medium 30%, and high 20%. Based on the results there needs to be an effort to improve the accountability of the guidance and counseling program and base of feedback mechanism indicators, teacher Guidance and counseling must create a mechanism by which the principal can submit input.

Abstract

As a profession, guidance and counseling have a supervision procedure in order to maintain and evaluate purpose to make evaluatif decision in guidance and counseling service. A supervision it self not only about process and result of counseling service, but also an asessment using psychological test, this asessment was useful for complete an inforrmation about psychological competence and individual difference of student. This result of psychological tes will benefit for counselor and also for student to understand and clarification about decision making in counseling service and placement for student according their expertise. A phenomena in Indonesia about counseling profession has been found that was lack of supervision process in guidance and counseling service and also lack of interest about psychology test in school, there are, it’s just to preserve an administration and formality. Phenomena in that practical way maybe can be assumed that because there is lack of information about the ideal of supervision process and also lack of experience and knowledge also untrained a supervisor and counselor about their own abilities. In this case, this paper will describe how should be a supervision be conducted, and the result of this evaluaton study show that with psychological test for student has a significant satisfaction almost 74% with their placement in first grade at senior high school.

Abstract

Cross- cultural counseling is done in different cultures , given to minority groups that the counseling process is a cultural encounter between counselor and client it serves. Problematic behavior will be different in different cultures , as well as the adjustment. So that effective counseling process, counselors are required to have cultural sensitivity and break away from cultural biases, understand and can appreciate and have skills that are culturally responsive. Communication activities between nations is a consumption activity that occurs between different clients mores, race, language, religion, level of education, social status or even gender. Thus intercultural communication should be by the diplomacy of foreign astudents, a teacher at an international school , social workers and others.To be able to understand more , intercultural communication as well as some that affect communication (1) Comunication approach, (2) Communication barriers between cultures, (3) How can these barriers interfere with communication between cultures. At the time of counseling , the counselor does not deal with the client's culture but also cultural counselor with individual clients. This view is dangerous for the counseling process, as it would appear culturally insensitive counselor, unsympathetic and very likely impose its own cultural values to the clients it serves.

Abstract

Truancy is an undisciplined behavior in the form of absence from learning and is included in one form of student misbehavior. If it is not immediately handled it can have a bad impact and become a habit that is attached to students. Self management technique is one of the behavioral development techniques through certain strategies that are carried out consistently to direct people to a positive change. The purpose of this study was to decide the effectiveness of self management techniques to cut truant behavior. The research subjects were 7th grade VIII students of Muhammadiyah Middle School 4 Singosari Malang. This research is a Quasi Experiment research using the pattern of pre-test and post-test. The instrument used is the scale of truant behavior, experimental guidelines, and observation guidelines. The results showed that the score of truant pre-test behavior was 31.2 (high class), while the post-test results showed a score of 17 (medium class). And based on the results of the Wilcoxon test obtained a significance of 0.018 < 0.05 means that the effective self-management technique to cut truancy behavior

Abstract

This study identified the critical thinking skills of Guidance and Counseling students. The analysis of this capability was illustrated in the scalogram resulted from the RASCH model analysis. The respondents were Guidance and Counseling students at a public University, in Bandung, Indonesia. The data obtained was used as a pilot study in measuring the critical thinking skill test constructed by the author. The results showed that the students' critical thinking skills were in the low category, with a percentage of 44%. The scalogram picture showed that there were three students who gave inconsistent patterns for several questions which showed that the result was still valid. The result of this study could be a reference for giving group counseling to some students who had inconsistent response patterns. In conclusion, counseling with a cognitive approach needed to be held in improving the critical thinking skills of Guidance and Counseling students who had low levels of critical thinking skill as a follow-up to this research. The implication of this study was that the research data could be used as a reference in the preparation of the guidance and counseling service program related to critical thinking skills.
