Abstract

This study aimed to provide an alternative multimedia option for learning anecdotal texts that are easy and cheap for teachers and interesting and memorable for students. Teachers get many choices in multimedia learning media, which are certainly the most in-demand by students in schools. This case is especially for learning anecdotal texts that have not yet developed. The research method used the development of Rusman, Dedi, and Cepi Microsoft PowerPoint. Researchers used observational data collection techniques, interviews, and documentation. The spiral techniques were employed to analyze the data. The validation results from 3 experts consisting of lecturers, teachers, and computer experts were obtained by 82% and 39 students by 84%. These results indicate that the product is feasible after development.

Abstract

Practical activities are carried out to prove a concept being studied. Practical activities following 21st-century learning are a form of learning change, initially centered on educators to become student-centered. Learning tools that are designed and planned according to students' needs certainly create interest so that they can build a productive learning environment. This study aimed to see the student's needs for developing learning tools based on interviews and questionnaires distributed to students who took Praktik Jurnalistik media Televisi course. This type of research was Research and Development (R&D). This research was the initial stage of developing learning tools in Praktik Jurnalistik media Televisi course. The needs analysis results obtained data of 46% stating that learning Praktik Jurnalistik media Televisi can improve speaking skills. 39% of students stated that the journalistic practice module requires development; consequently, the journalistic activities' steps and work processes were structured. 37% of students read and used the module as a guide in journalism practice lectures. Furthermore, 42% of students stated the suitability of the activities of 16 meetings with the learning tools and course syllabus.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the development of Indonesian language learning materials and determine the feasibility of learning materials' linguistic and legibility aspects. The R & D (Research and Development) method was used to achieve the research objectives. This research was started by assessing the potential and problems, collecting data, designing the product, validating, revising, and testing products. As a result, the learning materials developed in this study were in the form of printed teaching materials, namely brochures. The teaching materials consisted of four components: titles, basic competencies or subject matter, supporting information, and assessments. The development of learning materials focused on basic writing skills, namely the ability to use effective sentences, develop paragraph writing, academic writing, scientific articles, citing rules, and writing a bibliography. The assessment results show that the Indonesian language learning materials developed are in good category, with an average score of 3.75 and a feasibility level of 75% (adequate).

Abstract

Writing is a skill that must be mastered through a long process. It needs presence, knowledge, time, and experience. In this activity, students were expected the capability to compose descriptive text. This research aimed to know and describe the students' writing ability taught using Show Not Tell Model and its effectiveness. The method used was quasi-experiment. Design research used that was nonequivalent control group design. The population in the research was the whole student class VII SMPN 1 Balongan Indramayu lesson years 2022/2023 while sampling only two classes, that was class VII B with 30 students and class VII D with 30 students. The technique interpretation sample conducted was technique sampling purposive. The instrument of this study was a test in the form of a test description—preparation of data conducted with a formula t-test. Based on the finding, the result of students' writing ability in composing descriptive text through Show Not Tell Model increased, as proved by the average score of 85.50. Statistically, it was proved by the Tcounted= 6.44 and Ttable=1.70. Moreover, the significant value shows that it is not greater than 0.05. Hence, it could be summed up that Show Not Tell Model effectively increases students' writing ability in composing descriptive text

Abstract

This research aims to describe the seller illocutionary speech act's form, type, and function in offering merchandise at the Bukittinggi City Market. This study is descriptive research that takes a qualitative approach. This research's data is in the form of the seller's speech when offering merchandise at the Bukittinggi City Market, specifically Lereng Market, Ateh Market, Bawah Market, Los Lambuang, and Ramayana. In the data provision stage, the matching method is used, tapping is the basic approach, and the listening-engagement technique (SLC) and free-engaged involved listening (SBLC) techniques are the follow-up techniques. In addition, recording and note-taking methods are utilized. In the data analysis stage, the matching approach is utilized, with the initial technique consisting of sorting the determining elements (PUP) and the subsequent technique consisting of differentiating comparisons (HBB). The results of the data analysis are provided informally. The result of this research, the types of speech acts employed by sellers to advertise their products include speech actions with a mode (1) declarative, (2) imperative, (3) interrogative, (4) imperative-interrogative, (5) interrogative-imperative, (6) imperative-declarative, and (7) imperative-declarative. The speech acts that are performed are direct and indirect. The role of illocutionary speech acts utilized by sellers to offer goods is in the form of illocutionary speech acts: (1) Forceful with the intent of implying and asserting; (2) Directive having the intent to command and coerce; (3) Commission intended for offering; and (4) Expressed to praise and appreciate

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of representative speech acts used by students and lecturers of Geography education at the Nineteen November Kolaka University in carrying out their final assignment guidance. This type of research is qualitative using the content analysis method, which focuses on the types of speech of students and lecturers. Data collection techniques using observation, record and notes. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that there are 8 types of representative speech acts used by students and lecturers of Geography education in conducting final assignment guidance, namely representative speech acts of retrodictive, descriptive, informative, confirmative, retractive, dissentive, disputative, suggestive, in this study were not found predictive and suppositive types.

Abstract

This research objective to describe and analyze the Principal Coaching Strategies in improving the quality of education. This research was carried out in Private Aliyah Madrasa Al-Amin District Labokeo Southern Wowoni island with the informant's research is the principal and the teachers in the school. The approach used is descriptive qualitative in-depth interview by (deep interview) and documentation, to the informant as the primary data collection techniques. Through the technique of determination of informants in snowball obtained the main informant the principal and teachers at Private schools. While secondary data on Madrasah Aliyah documents obtained from the private Al-Amin Wowoni Island Regency, South Labokeo at the relevant point of view. The research result found that strategy done by a principal in improving education covering coaching academical or supervision academic covering design program of instruction, learning, carry out commitment to work, evaluate learning, during tutoring hours to students, manage class, using media and source of learning, as well as training discipline the teacher then administrative guidance management includes teaching, management kepegawaian, management student, management facilities and infrastructures, and financial management.

Abstract

Communicating activities in everyday life must pay attention to aspects such as the interlocutor, the context of the conversation, and the place and time of the speaking activity. To make sentences effective and efficient, speakers can use deixis in communicating. Deixis is a word that moves depending on who is speaking and the context of the conversation. The use of deixis can be helpful in direct or verbal and indirect or written communication activities. Examples of indirect communication can be realized in literary works like novels. The researcher chose the novel Muara Rasa as the subject in connection with the research to be conducted. The research objective is to describe the types, forms, and functions of persona deixis used in the Muara Rasa novel by Devania Annesya and the use of persona deixis in the novel “Muara Rasa by Devania Annesya learning Indonesian in junior high school class IX. The data in this study are dialogues containing persona deixis in the novel Muara Rasa by Devania Annesya, which was published in December 2015 with 186 pages. The data analysis technique used in this research is the matching method. Based on the research that researchers have done in the novel Muara Rasa. Three types of personal deixis are used in the novel Muara Rasa: the first-person deixis, the second-person deixis, and the third-person deixis. Judging from its shape, the form of persona deixis found in the novel Muara Rasa, is the first single form of persona deixis, namely the form of me, with 244 uses. The form of the first persona deixis is plural, i.e., our form has 40 usages, and ours has 13 usages. The form of the second persona deixis is singular, the form of you as many as 179 uses. The second form of persona deixis is plural; your form has 27 uses. The form of third person singular deixis is the form of dia as many as 57

Abstract

Character education based on local wisdom is one character education model that is quite effective in shaping Indonesian human character. This study aims to describe the pattern of implementation of character education based on local wisdom in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at Nurul Huda University. This research was field research conducted using qualitative methods. The results show that the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at Nurul Huda University implemented character education based on local wisdom in every learning activity. The local wisdom that forms the basis for character education is the local wisdom of the Islamic boarding school and the Komering culture. Character education is based on local wisdom reflected through the vision and mission, the learning process, and student activities under the auspices of the Study Program. Through the implementation of character education based on local wisdom, students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at Nurul Huda University are expected to become virtuous individuals of superior quality, dignified, and have a Pancasila spirit.

Abstract

Based on the results of the needs analysis at MTs Muhammadiyah Karangkajen Yogyakarta and SMP Negeri 11 Yogyakarta, it can be reflected that the use of learning media, especially persuasive text materials using application-based media, has yet to be maximized. Therefore, developing learning media based on the Kodular application is hoped to be a solution to learning persuasive text material. This study aims to; (1) describe the stages of Kodular application media in learning persuasion text material for class VIII SMP/MTs students; (2) describe the implementation of Kodular application media in learning persuasive text material in class VIII SMP/MTs students; and (3) describe Kodular application media's feasibility in learning persuasion text material for class VIII SMP/MTs students. The type of research used was R&D (Research and Development) using the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subjects of this study were students and expert validators. Meanwhile, the object of this research is media based on Kodular application in teaching persuasion text to class VIII SMP/MTs students. Data collection techniques used in this study were in the form of observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this study uses quantitative-descriptive analysis, which can present data from the validation test results from experts in the form of numbers and describe the stages in developing learning media based on Kodular applications. The results of this study indicate that the Kodular application-based media that contains persuasive text material is "Very Eligible" to apply in the learning process at school. This feasibility is evidenced by the results of the average score obtained from experts amounting to 93. The average score obtained from the assessment of media experts is 100, from material experts is 95, and from teaching experts (teachers as users) is 83, 8. In addition, the results of the responses from students to this Kodular application-based media were 89.5. Further, research on developing media based on Kodular applications in persuasion text learning in class VIII SMP/MTs students is expected to assist students in optimizing the learning process and support learning outcomes to achieve the learning objectives.
