Abstract

Within the growth of the audio-visual digital industry, specifically on video-based social media, YouTube, requires video content creators to develop and transform themselves. This research will explain how a multi-channel network (MCN) company works and collaborates with creators to actualize an interesting content production and a worth-watching videos on YouTube. This research also will discern how a multi-channel network company helps their creators that in need to produce content and use their channel optimally. This research shows that content production collaboration using five stages of diffusion of innovations by Everett Rogers analyzes deeper on how Collab Asia as a multi-channel network company perform the collaboration to produce video content on YouTube works out well. This research shows that all five stages of diffusion of innovations from both sides, Sandy SS as content creator and Collab Asia as the multi-channel network company, goes well.

Abstract

The presence of avatar features in mobile online team games where most male players use femalecharacters with attractive appearance, which can be referred to as crossdressers in the real world,and look like cross-gender or home activities in online games. Besides, various speculations havealso arisen about their cross-gender goals and being a place to live. The formulation of this studyproblem is how the definition of gender identity in cross-gender players in mobile games toramonline Indonesia. This result research method was carried out with a phenomenological approach,the data collected through interviews and participants' observations. The results showed that playersshape their identity into women based on their background, such as the potential benefits gained orbecause of an experience experienced as a result of gender stereotypes that occur in the game. Coderefers to players who create female characters and seek to shape their image as women, whileplayers who do not have such meaning cannot be said to be home even though they are the samemale players who use female characters. The potential benefits obtained can be information, items,money in the game, and the player's personal pleasure in acting and shaping his identity.

Abstract

The study of self disclosure in educated communication between students and academic advisory lecturers focuses the problem on non-academic issues that affect students' academic achievement. The purpose of the research is 1) to analyze student self-disclosure to academic advisory lecturers based on the dimensions of self disclosure; 2) analyze student self disclosure to PA lecturers based on factors that influence self-disclosure. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis technique. The results revealed the dimensions of self disclosure: dimension size/frequency, frequency of frequent consultation, consultation time is not long; The valence tends to be negative; dimensions of carefulness and honesty still need more in-depth observation; there is a familiarity that is intertwined. Meanwhile, based on the influencing factors, that is, there is no dyadic effect; the size of a two-person audience; topics from academic problems develop to non-academic issues. The valence factors are favorable to negative; religion, ethnicity, community, gender, and age: relatively the same; partner factors between student-PA positions are not equal. Abstract

Perempuan sebagai bagian dari masyarakat mempunyai partisipatif aktif dalam pembangunan seperti penentuan perencanaan pembangunan sampai pada proses evaluasi hasil dari partisipatif mereka dalam pembangunan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang dirasakan. Salah satu wujud implementasi tersebut adalah dengan menjadi Juru Pemantau Jentik (Jumantik). Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui komunikasi partisipatif berbasis gender relawan Jumantik dalam kaitannya menjaga dan memberantas jentik nyamuk di lingkungan RW 09 Kelurahan Petukangan Utara Jakarta Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan wawancara dan observasi untuk mendapatkan data. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa partisipatif perempuan dalam komunikasi partisipatif sebagai sukarelawan Jumantik merupakan kesadaran untuk dapat menjaga lingkungan mereka. Bentuk komunikasi partisipatif yang digunakan berdasarkan model multi-track—monologis, dialogis dan kombinasi. Partisipasi perempuan dalam pengawasan lingkungan program Pemberatasan Sarang Nyamuk (PSN) juga turut meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka yang pada akhirnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan tersebut tidak hanya mereka sendiri rasakan namun juga lingkungan masyarakat di mana mereka tinggal.

Abstract

Unbound within space, time and not require lots of money to make digital media more popular in public. Other than that, the wide market reach also makes company owners consider to spend their advertising on online media. As well as advertising in Liputan6.com, that can be said, have increased, because of these circumstances. The activities of the people who use gadget more frequently for looking up some informations has become kind of support for the increasing of advertising spending in digital media. The aim of these research is to see how the advertising transition in Liputan6 television program into Liputan6.com digital media. This research uses a qualitative descriptive as the method, with literature study technique. The analysis, shows that digital advertisements gaining more attention, especially in Liputan6.com media. It happens because people consume the internet often, the advertising concept of Liputan6.com is more attractive, and the difference cost of advertisements between Liputan6 program and Liputan6.com digital media.

Abstract

The implementation of government public relations in the Pekanbaru City Government is carried out by the Public Relations of the Regional Secretariat and the Information Division of Public Communication, Diskominfosantik, in which two different divisions carry out the same task and function, namely government public relations activities. However, the Pekanbaru City Government has succeeded in maximizing its efforts to disseminate information on city branding with one of the most active media centers in Indonesia. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods, with interview and observation techniques, and uses data analysis techniques Huberman Miles. The results of this study explain that government public relations activities at City Government Public Relations are applied to the management of information dissemination through media relations, to build Regional Head personal branding based on mediascape analysis of Pekanbaru City, while the IKP Division conducts information dissemination through the media center to build Regional Head personal branding and OPD corporate branding through actively published live news release content. The management of the two communication channels refers to setting the intermedia agenda.

Abstract

Social big data is the recently popular for big data management with a new approach that specifically refers to data generated from social media. Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta as a reputable higher education institution with social media accounts @UMYogya, is a potential contributor in the context of big data. This research is a descriptive study that aims to reveal the potential of social media @UMYogya quantitatively by using tools in the form of social media analytics features. Social media as a mid-tier influencer has an intense engagement with its social media viewers at a significant level, by implementing a social media management scheme that refers to the big social data diagram, social media @UMYogya as a representation of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta potentially increasing the ‘impact’, involving stakeholders and developing social media by referring to the potential of social big data itself.

Abstract

Inspired by the Media Repertoire idea in various studies, this article analyzes what digital immigrant groups build-in using Smartphones in everyday life. The repertoire is the selection of media used periodically based on its usefulness and became an identifiable routine. This study grouped Smartphones activities for various interests into 5 themes including; Entertainment, Transactions, Consumption, Production/Participation, and Social Welfare Services. How the results of the online repertoire on Smartphones based on these 5 themes. Whether the frequency of use using The Uses and Gratification theory can form a Repertoire of 5 grouped themes, the researcher take this data at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang for lecturers and active employees who are a group of Digital Immigrants by distributing online questionnaires and sampling techniques using the formula Slovin (N: 107). To identify the online repertoire in Smartphones using PLS (Partial Least Square) analysis so that it can be known as the coefficient value in variable X in influencing variable Y. The results showed that consumption theme has a coefficient value of 0.849 > from t-table 0.6 which means it has the largest contribution compared to other 4 dimensions so that consumption is an online repertoire in Smartphones in the Digital Immigrant group and the frequency of use (Uses & Gratification theory) has a dominant influence in the formation of online repertoire in Smartphones with a statistical value of 4,526 > from t-table 1.96. The conclusion is that the duration and frequency of using smartphones can make Indonesian people, especially digital groups of immigrants, become active consumers to shop online in e-commerce.

Abstract

The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic in various parts of the world has provided speculation and news that takes care of public spaces including Mass Media in Britain and Germany. The role of the Internet and the mainstream press media cannot answer in terms of disseminating information about COVID-19 to the public. This research examines how the British and German Mass Media reported the spread of COVID-19 and about how the mass media played a role in reporting on the health crisis that occurred in the two countries. The object of research chosen was the online news platform in the form of British and German mainstream media, each of which had a different character. This study aims to understand the role of the media in coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic health crisis, the theory used in this study is the framework and theory of social media responsibility. So it can be seen to what extent the media has played a role in providing information about the health crisis that occurred in the two countries.

Abstract

Media convergence is a step to maintain existence amid the many emerging new media. The innovations carry out have increasingly developed since the Covid-19 virus pandemic. This study aimed to see the existence of RRI Pekanbaru after conduct media convergence and to see the impact of media convergence felt by both internally and listeners of RRI Pekanbaru. This study used a descriptive qualitative method and strength by Roger Fidler's concept of Mediamorfosis. This study showed that there was not much audience or audience segmentation because audiences were looking for information or entertainment through social media. The step taken by RRI Pekanbaru to maintain its existence in the digital era is to keep abreast of technological developments, especially during the Covid era. The convergence that brings creates an increasingly interactive character capable of obtaining direct consequences for the message conveyed.
