Abstract

This study focuses on the dynamics of women's acceptance of taboo gender issues on social media on Danilla Riyadi's Instagram and Youtube accounts. Through her social media content, Danilla is recognized as a singer whose behavior in front of the camera often triggers controversy such as smoking, drinking alcohol, showing tattoos, or saying obscene words. In the context of gender, what he does implicitly can be seen as a form of resistance to the gender taboo that confines women. This research looks at how the audience receives or perceives content with sensitive messages like this. The researcher used a qualitative approach, descriptive type, and the acceptance analysis method developed by Stuart Hall. The data was obtained through in-depth interviews with female viewers of Danilla Riyadi's account. The findings show that there are dynamics or diversity in the position of acceptance of the research subject towards Danilla Riyadi's content (dominant, negotiated, opposition). On the one hand, Danilla's content is accepted as a message that rejects gender taboo. But on the other hand, content is accepted as something that is detrimental to women, because Danilla's expression was deemed inappropriate for women.

Abstract

This study focuses is changing the way of Customer Service works during the Covid-19 pandemic. The change in the Customer Service mechanism during the Covid-19 pandemic became the background of the problem, therefore a study was needed regarding the working mechanism of Customer Service during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of the study was to analyze all forms of change and communication patterns in Customer Service services during the Covid-19 pandemic. The qualitative method used in this research is a case study approach. Involving two Customer Service and three customers as informants. The data collection techniques are data reduction, data presentation and conclusions (data verification). The results of this study found three differences in the mechanism of Customer Service during the Covid-19 pandemic which included changes in the layout of the room, changes in working hours and Customer Service attributes. The results of this study, researchers hope to contribute to improving the business of the banking sector and improve Customer Service hence that there is no miscommunication does not occur in the next time.

Abstract

Kasus kematian seorang guru SMP di Pemali Kecamatan Sungailiat Kabupaten Bangka pasca vaksinasi yang terjadi pada awal Mei 2021 masih menimbulkan spekulasi dikalangan masyarakat.Sehingga menimbulkan krisis komunikasi di tengah masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimna komunikasi krisis pada pemberitaan efek samping vak sin covid-19 di Pemerintah Kabupaten Bangka. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teori Komunikasi Krisis Situasional. Jenis penelitian ini dekriptif pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian pada strategi respons primer antara lain strategi penyangkalan, Pemerintah Kabupaten Bangka berupaya memberikan pengertian kepada masyarakat agar tidak menyimpulkan permasalahan sebelum ada penjelasan lebih lanjut dari ahlinya. Penyelidikan atau investigasi yaitu olehTim Komnas Kejadian Ikutan Pasca Imunisasi (KIPI) dan Komda KIPI Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Strategi pengurangan, memperkuat pandangan bahwa pemerintah Kabupaten Bangka mempunyai tanggung jawab yang tinggi terhadap krisis. Upaya yang dilakukan diantaranya bekerjasama dengan Tim Komnas Kejadian Ikutan PascaImunisasi (KIPI) dan Komda KIPI Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung untuk melakukan investigasi. Strategi pembangunan kembali, Pemerintah Kabupaten Bangka membantu dan mendorong masyarakat untuk melaksanakan vaksin covid-19. Adapun pada strategi respons sekunder yakni strategi penguatan yang dilakukan oleh Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Bangka menyampaikan informasi tentang tingkat pelaksanaan vaksin atau keberhasilannya kepada stakeholders, pers BangkaPos, Radio Republik Indonesia Sungailiat dan media massa cetak lain yang ikut merilis.

Abstract

Incidental news is the result of an algorithm system implemented by media companies. This study shows how background of the social media users influence incidental news consumtion. The method used is literatures review and short interviews with 20 adults working in various sectors with an age range of 23-25 years. The results show that background of profession and age are influencing the choose of news content. Responding to the emergence of incidental news, several respondents did not care about the origin of the news. As long as the content loaded interests them, there is nothing to question. they also think that incidental news can be an effective shortcut to reach the original source of the news. It can be concluded that adults generally feel helped in the news search process with incidental news. Nevertheless, in consuming incidental news, we should remain vigilant and careful because not all news sources are accurate and from the theory of incidental news emergence that utilizes digital track records that can threaten our personal data.

Abstract

The hotel industry has felt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The social restriction policy implemented by the government to prevent the transmission of the virus has made mobility levels decline, and hotel occupancy rates have drastically decreased. This pandemic has created severe crisis management. This research was conducted at two five-star hotels in Yogyakarta to determine how public relations practices deal with crisis management. One hotel is a local brand, and the other is included in an international hotel chain. The novelty of this research is in the nature of the crisis, which does not have a pre-crisis stage. The research was conducted with qualitative research methods and using a subjective approach. The data was dug in depth from hotel management, employees, and customers. When the research was conducted, the crisis had not yet ended, so the researcher focused on efforts to overcome the crisis and had not yet arrived at the post-crisis condition. The results showed that there was a shock from the management over the impact of the pandemic. Therefore, these two hotels need time to overcome the crisis in different timescales. Further, the leadership began to take the necessary strategic steps: forming a crisis management team, working with professional consultants (for international chain hotels), preparing crisis management plans, identifying laws or government regulations regarding Covid-19, and taking action. At the same time, marketing and public relations are spearheading in improving marketing and maintaining the brand during times of crisis. However, the hotel is still faced with the aspect of occupancy amid low supply. Meanwhile, public relations maintain a brand image as a form of investment that can be reaped when the crisis is over.

Abstract

Artikel ini memuat analisis konten e-demokrasi yang terbangun dalam media sosial Twitter. Peneliti melihat fenomena polemik publik dalam terhadap isu pemecatan Pegawai KPK RI yang tidak lulus Tes Wawasan Kebangsaan (TWK). Data diambil dari Twitter dengan total mencapai 7789 tweet dan komentar dikumpulkan dalam rentang tanggal 27 September hingga 2 Oktober 2021. Analisis data menggunakan Software Nvivo 12 Plus. Tweet diklasifikasikan ke dalam lima kategori yakni Logika dan Analisis, Menyebut Pemerintah, Informasi, Kekhawatiran dan Impresi. Tweet kemudian didistribusikan ke dalam sentimen positif, netral dan negatif untuk melihat peta perdebatan yang terjadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perdebatan banyak terjadi dengan kategori Impresi yakni didominasi oleh perdebatan saling serang hingga labelling antar kelompok. Opinion leaders dalam perdebatan ini didominasi oleh akun influencer, media massa, dan aktivis anti korupsi.

Abstract

The interest of Instagram users to find out information from another party's Instagram account is the unique and interesting content contained in it. When content is considered useful, followers will provide positive comments and opinions. This study aims to determine the extent to which Instagram content uploaded to the @interstudiofficial account and student opinions affect the image of InterStudi colleges. This research method uses an explanatory quantitative approach, which was carried out on 97 respondents who are followers of the @interstudiofficial Instagram account. This study wants to explain the relationship between the three variables. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that Instagram content and student opinions have an effect on the image of the InterStudi college. These findings explain that the Instagram account uploaded by the @interstudiofficial account must have a positive value so that followers will provide comments and opinions which ultimately have a good effect on InterStudi's image.

Abstract

Reputation is not only about corporate management, product, and their value. But it also includes the process of how to get a good reputation from the stakeholder perception. One of the ways is through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programs. This research objective tries to find and explain the significant effect of the public’s perception about CSR programs by Pertamina on corporate reputation measured by Customer-Based Brand Equity (CBBE). This research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods. The theory that underlies this research is stakeholder theory with the concept of Customer-Based brand equity. The result of this research shows the significant effect of local communities’ perception about corporate image and CSR programs is very high (99,40%) on local communities CBBE as the measurement of corporate reputation. These results indicate that the CSR program plays a vital role in determining the company's reputation in the local community's perception. Improving the CSR programs, CSR personnel, CSR executives are very affecting the corporate image and building a better CBBE and corporate reputation.

Abstract

Pluralism is an excellent wealth and social capital. On the other hand, pluralism has the potential for latent conflicts that can threaten security and peace in society. As one of the provinces in Indonesia that has a complex level of pluralism, Papua is inhabited by various indigenous Papuan tribes and tribes originating from outside the Papua Province. In this article, the researcher describes the communication strategy carried out by the Cenderawasih Military Command XVII and Jayapura X Lantamal. The two institutions which are the institutions of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are responsible for creating a conducive situation in society. This research is a qualitative research. Data were collected by interview and literature study. The results of the study indicate that the application of intercultural communication strategies by the TNI as a form of its unity with the people, namely: smart-power, which consists of soft power is applied to non-armed parties, while hard power is applied to armed civilian groups. The strategy of intercultural communication is carried out with a religious, cultural, and equality approach. This research is expected to be an evaluation material for Kodam XVII Cendrawasih and Lantamal X Jayapura.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is a new situation and condition which brings a lot of changes, mothers with Down syndrome children certainly also feel their own experiences during this pandemic. The purpose of this study was to find out the meaning of a child with Down syndrome in the mother's life, and how mothers with Down syndrome children manage the activities and activities they face during Covid-19. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data was collected by means of in-depth interviews and documentation with a total of five informants. The results obtained indicate that: 1) The meaning of a child with Down syndrome for mothers is formed from the experience of mothers having a child with Down syndrome, namely as an experience of a spiritual journey, a source of learning, and as a complement to life. 2) There are various efforts by mothers with children with Down syndrome to manage activities and activities during Covid-19, including managing children's school activities, managing children's activities & activities, and managing children's behavior, independence, & responsibilities while at home.
