Abstract

At this time the case of azoospermia is quite common in infertile men. Azoospermia is a condition where the semen does not contain sperm. Many causes azoospermia, including the deletion of a gene at the locus that is located on the Y chromosome long arm (YQ) known as AZF gene (Azoospermia Factor). One of the genes in the AZF region are genes that AZFc DAZ (Deleted in Azoospermia). The purpose of this study was to detect the presence of the DAZ gene deletions in men with azoospermia cases using PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction). The study design was descriptive. Venous blood samples with EDTA anticoagulant taken from 10 men azoospeermia then extracted to obtain DNA. DNA samples were then carried out PCR with primers DAZ. The PCR products were separated by electrophoresis in 2% agarose gel and visualized using UVtranslluminator. Of the 10 samples, four patients including DAZ gene deletion was detected experience while the other six do not experience DAZ gene deletions. It concluded that found their DAZ gene deletions in men with azoospermia using the PCR method

Abstract

This study aims at determining the normal flora of Streptococcus sp., the inhabitants of the oral cavity in the tartar that can lead to health problems. This study is an observational study with cross sectional analytic approach performed on 47 samples of dental smear for Streptococcus sp. bacteria identification and EDTA blood samples for Hemoglobin level examination, hematocrit percent, the number of erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets in University of Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya students. The result of Independent Samples T Test data analysis in a cut point showed that the levels of hemoglobin, number of leukocytes and platelets look significantly different with p <0.05in individuals with normal flora Streptococcus alpha and Streptococcus gamma. The conclusion in this study, in individuals with normal flora Streptococcus alpha, can decrease hemoglobin level, whereas in individuals with normal flora Streptococcus gamma can increase the number of leukocytes and decrease the number of platelets.

Abstract

Health conditions, mental status and Life & Style can be lead to complications on Pregnancy can be causing death of mother and fetus (Depkes RI, 2014). The main factor that cause maternal death are postpartum bleeding / HPP (28%), preeclampsia (24%) and infection (11%) (Indonesia Health Profile, 2007). Those factors that cause maternal death actually could be prevented by pregnancy and early detection of the risk of pregnancy check up. The type of this research is analitic observational by using cross sectional design. The population is consist of 171 pregnant mother. The sample used are amount of 62 pregnant mothers. The sample used is probability sampling with stratified random sampling technique. Data collection using primary data with questionnaire instrument through interview. Furthermore, the data would be analyzed with simple logistic regression analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis with the level of meaning 5% (α = 0,05). Based on the results of multiple logistic regression analysis in Sawahan show disclosure information variable of danger signs with significancy Exp value (B) 5,657 are significant variables and variable of paritas with significancy Exp value (B) 9,060 are significant variables. Sawahan Public Health Center is the Public Health Center which has high of Maternal Mortality Rate. Puskesmas Sawahan must have information forum. So that, pregnant mother and the other patient or patient’s family should get more information about the danger signs of pregnancy, especially preeclampsia.

Abstract

Subdistrict Tanggulangin was relatively close to the source of the Lapindo mud flow, the release of mud content into the water will cause the death of aquatic organisms and lead to serious consequences for humans who depend their life on these waters. Therefore, researchers seek to determine the total water hardness and chloride content in Tanggulangin district. Water make up the population and sample, taken from 15 points in Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo. Total hardness determination was conducted using complexometric titration method, whereas chloride content wasperformed using argentometry Mohr titration method. Water sample from 3 of 10 regions in Tanggulangin is drinkable, namely the sample A (320 mg / L), sample C (170 mg / L), sample E (304 mg / L), sample F (298 mg / L), sample I (372 mg / L), samples J (340 mg / L). While the in the othersamples, the content of total hardness exceeds the maximum threshold (> 500 mg / L) which means unfit for consumption, and 5 of the 10 areas in the district is drinkable, namely the sample A (123.2 mg / L), sample C (49.7 mg / L), sample E (245.7 mg / L), sample I (182.4 mg / L), and samples J (64mg / L).

Sample numbers were 97 religious pupil that was collected from population with proportional random sampling. Variable test held using correlation analysis method. Correlation test results or the r value indicates the value of 0.792. Thus it can be interpreted that there is a strong relationship between sanitation and disease incidence in Pondok Pesantren Sunan Drajat. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the quality and quantity of islamic boarding school sanitation to increase the health of religious pupil.
