Abstract

This article is aimed to describe the results of validation test and limited trials of interactive multimedia-based learning media in Indonesia language teaching wich is value of character education for grade V elementary school students in order to support the implementation of Curriculum 2013. This research is a research and development research with 4-D model. The data are sourced from three validators, namely the lecturer in Indonesian language education, information technology and communication, and character building, five students and one teacher of grade V SD. The results showed that the well-designed media used in the learning activities as evidenced by the average validation value is in the valid category, the average of practicality test from the student's responses is in very appropriate category, and the average from teacher responses is in the practical category. Keywords: development, learning media, interactive multimedia, character values.

Abstract

Musical performances Grande Ouverture, Asturias, and Karak Lilisan in a guitar solo is instrumental performances by classical guitar performer who puts as the sole major player in a musical performance. A performances that shows the maturity of the skill of a player on the composition of the music being played. Abstract

Indonesia has a very diverse diversity of traditions, so it becomes a potential asset to be explored and developed. One of the potentials of this nation can be used as a source of inspiration or ideas in creating musical compositions. Each region in Indonesia has its own traditions, such as one of the oral traditions of the people of Pulau Temian, Kabupateb Tebo, provinsi Jambi. In this area there is a story called "Pik-Pik-Numpang-Tiduk", which is a lesson about modesty that is found in a meeting between men and women. "Pik-Pik-Numpang-Tiduk" revolves around the procedures for male lovers visiting the woman's house and how customary values and kindness are maintained. This activity is the basic foundation for creating a rhythm of a motive of the star, which is called the motive of a picnic star overlapping. This motif was then developed in accordance with the contents of the story "Pik-Pik-Numpang-Tiduk". and worked on a composition of orchestral music. The creation of this musical composition through the stages of identification of musical elements, exploration of musical ideas, and experimentation on intervals found in the habits of local villagers, so that it becomes a new color in the form of orchestral music compositions that have the characteristic of one archipelago and represents a description of the story of Pik-Pik Numpang Tiduk from the village of Pulau Temiang.Keywords: Pik-Pik’ Numpang Tiduk, Kelintang

Abstract

This paper shows Mochtar Lubis’ Kuli Kontrak has the political relations with the New Order’s negative stigma of communism; Kuli Kontrak was culturally part of spreading the stigma. Every element in the short stories collection has different functions, but interrelated, in maintaining the negative stigma. The elements discussed in this paper, first, the intrinsic elements, namely the narrative strategy is divided into three main parts. Second, extrinsic elements: namely the covers which contains a painting and endorsements from figures. Third, the political element: the year of publication of the book and political backgrounds in Indonesia at that time. Discussion of each element followed by politics of aesthetics analysis, namely analysis of the political impacts of the use of these elements to social conditions, either directly or indirectly, expected by the author or not.

Abstract

In this study, we discussed work field oriented course on Japanese Department’s curriculum in Indonesia. The method used is qualitative method with research data are curriculums’ used on several Japanese Departments in Indonesia such as Japanese Department of Universitas Andalas, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Gajah Mada, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Udayana. The purpose of this research was to discuss and explain the course in some Japanese Department that could be applied directly in the work field. Work field oriented course on Japanese Department were described and then analyzed the relevance and benefits for the students in the work field. The results showed that there were similarities in work field oriented course in some Japanese Departments although the name/label of the course was slightly different. This proves all Japanese Departments had same mission to produce graduates who was not only master in Japanese language but also had other skills that could be used actively wherever they are. Key words: work field, course, curriculum, Japanese Department, Indonesia

Abstract

 This article is aimed at revealing the paradox meaning of some events in short story “Zina” written by Putu Wijaya. The short story “Zina” is chosen to be analyzed because it describes some unique events in the short story and they are beyond of common logic. The analysis of this short story is conducted by using deconstruction approach. It is a qualitative research and it is described descriptively. Based on the result of the analysis, it is found that the unique events that are found in short story “Zina” which seems paradox with common sense, in fact there is a truth inside. A wife who ask permission to her husband to have an affair with somebody else, a forbidden affair that is done in front of palace and bus way line, and an open affair in front of public are unique events that hide many paradox meanings. Some of paradox meanings are; the importance of husband’s admittance for a wife, the importance of new atmospheres in a family, and the importance of governing social awareness.    Keywords:  short story, paradox, approval, wife, husband, adulteryABSTRAK Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan makna paradok beberapa peristiwa dalam cerpen “Zina” karya Putu Wijaya. Cerpen “Zina” dipilih untuk dianalisis karena menggambarkan beberapa peristiwa aneh dan di luar logika biasa. Analisis terhadap cerpen ini akan dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan dekonstruksi. Analisis bersifat kualitatif dan disajikan secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh gambaran bahwa keanehan-keanehan yang terdapat dalam cerpen “Zina”, yang seolah-olah bertentangan dengan pendapat umum, pada kenyataannya mengandung kebenaran. Istri yang minta izin suami untuk berzina, perzinaan pasangan suami istri di depan istana dan lajur bus way, dan perzinaan terbuka suami istri itu di depan umum dan ditonton banyak orang merupakan peristiwa aneh yang menyembunyikan makna paradok. Di antara makna paradok itu adalah pentingnya izin suami bagi istri, pentingnya suasana-suasana baru dalam keluarga, dan pentingnya membangun kepedulian sosial.   Kata Kunci:  cerpen, paradoks, izin, istri, suami, zina

Abstract

Penggunaan abreviasi atau kependekan, khususnya  akronim, sudahmerambah ke dalam berbagai ruang media, baik media lisan, mataupun media tertulis. Salah satu media tertulis yang banyak menggunakan akronimisasi ialah  dokumen Universitas Andalas. Bentuk akronim  yang digunakan sangat beragam dengan  proses pembentukanyang  beragam pula. Proses pembentukan akronmi yang terdapat dalam beberapa dokumen di lingkungan Universitas Andalas banyak yang baru sehingga banyak yang  tidak sesuai dengan  proses pembentukan akronim yang sudah ada . Atau sebaliknya,  proses yang ada sekarang  dipandang sudah  tidak representatif  lagi untuk mewadahi proses pembentukan akronim  yang  digunakan pada masa kini. Selain itu, beberapa bentuk  akronim  yang digunakan tersebut  tidak lagi mengacu pada kaidah fonotaktik bahasa Indonesia.Fenomena inilah yang melatarbelakangi penulis  untuk memilih akronim  sebagaiobjek kajian.Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentukakronim  yang digunakandalam beberapa  dokumen di lingkungan Universitas Andalas dan menjelaskan proses pembentukan masing-masingnya.Teori yang digunakan adalah teori akronim dan proses pembentukannya yang dikemukakan oleh Kridalaksana (2010), Chaer dan  arifin (2015).). Selainitu, sebagai penunjang juga digunakan beberapa hasil penelitian Noviatri dan Reniwati mengenai abreviasi  (2014 dan  2015) dan kamus abreviasi bahasa Indonesia yang juga ditulis oleh Noviatri dan Reniwati ( 2015).  Kridalaksana (2010) membagi abreviasi  atas lima bentuk, yaitu: 1) singkatan, 2) akronim, 3) penggalan, 4) konstrkasi, dan 5) lambang huru.  Berdasarkan hasil  pembahasan ditemukan   227 (dua ratus dua puluh tujuh) buah bentuk akronim yang digunakan dalam beberapa dokumen di lingkungan Unand. Berdasarkan  proses pembentukannya, ada 21 (dua puluh satu) proses pembentukan akronim.  Sebagian besar dari proses tersebut merupakan proses pembentukan akronim baru.

Abstract

This article discusses the relevance between the image and the speech in Japanese. This study is a qualitative research that discusses and explains the relevance between the image and the speech in strip comic. The aims of this research to analyze the relevance between the image and the speech that triggered the formation of story in strip comic. The data of this study are taken from “Shin Kobochan” strip comic by Masashi Ueda volume 28, 29 and 30, published in 2014 by Houbunsha. The theories employed in this study are Sperber and Wilson’s relevance theory, which aims to see the relevance between the speech and the images in the form of humor utterances, Danesi and Peron’s iconicity theory, Pierce’s theory of semiosis process, which aim to interpret the images and Grice’s implicatures theory which aims to reveal the implicit meaning of the utterances. The results show that Images showing the speaker and hearer performing certain activity are required in the process of understanding the whole humor, so that the communicated meaning and the message can be found. Keywords: relevance, image, utterance, icons, and semiosis

Abstract

The music composition "Impressioniss Unggan" through the construction of musical material, issued an "impression" of the result of the merger of the original rhythm and tone of the music Calempong Unggan in modern musical harmony system vertically and horozintal. Then the musical understanding detected and understood due to phsikoakustik analysis or any listener to hear the music thoroughly enters into the depths of music. The aim of the Impressionists was to "explain the music, not to describe the music, not for reflection object but an emotional reaction to the object. Also interpret impressions through search found from reality". Abstract

This research is aim at explaining form, function, and meaning of sign in A Mild cigarette advertisement. The problems in this research are what are form, function, and meaning of sign in A Mild cigarette advertisement. The kind of research is descriptive and qualitative approach. The research data is sign in A mild cigarette advertisement in verbal and non-verbal language form. The source of data is television, internet, and story board. In analysis data, sign in a mild cigarette advertisement uses Pierce theory and Saussure theory. Then, the function of sign is described and explained uses Searle theory. Next, the meaning of sign is implemented by using Barthes theory. The result of research indicates, first there are 7 data are used form of sign in verbal language and nonverbal language. Second, there are 4 functions of sign from 5 who stated by Searle, (1) representative function includes speculation, report, showing, and saying; (2) directive function includes persuasion, suggestion, and influence; (3) expressive function includes critic, blame and disappoint; (4) co-missive function includes threaten and capable. Third, there is one meaning of sign produced includes hyper realit. Key words: sign, advertisement, and hyperrealityABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguraikan wujud, fungsi, dan makna tanda dalam iklan rokok A Mild. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah wujud tanda, fungsi tanda, dan makna tanda dalam iklan rokok A Mild. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif.  Data penelitian adalah tanda terdapat dalam iklan rokok A Mild dalam wujud bahasa verbal dan bahasa nonverbal. Sumber data penelitian adalah media televisi, internet, dan baliho. Dalam analisis wujud tanda dalam iklan rokok A Mild, digunakan teori Peirce dan Saussure. Selanjutnya, fungsi tanda dideskripsikan dan dijelaskan dengan menggunakan teori Searle. Kemudian, makna tanda diimplementasikan dengan menggunakan teori Barthes. Hasil analisis disimpulkan sesuai dengan rumusan masalah dalam penelitian, yaitu pertama ditemukan tanda  menggunakan wujud tanda dalam bahasa verbal dan bahasa nonverbal. Kedua, ditemukan 4 fungsi tanda dari 5 yang dikemukakan oleh Searle yaitu, (1) fungsi representatif,  yakni berspekulasi, melaporkan, menunjukkan, dan menyatakan; (2) fungsi direktif, yakni mengajak, menyarankan, dan mempengaruhi; (3) fungsi ekspresif, yakni mengkritik, menyalahkan, dan mengeluh; dan (4) fungsi komisif meliputi mengancam dan menyatakan kesanggupan. Ketiga, adanya makna tanda hiperrealitas dihasilkan dari iklan rokok A Mild. Kata Kunci: tanda, iklan, dan tanda hiperrealitas
