Abstract

The design of this Vacuum and Packaging Machine is made in order to increase the sale value and service life for processed Oyster Mushroom products. Not only that, this machine can do packaging in a short time and efficiently. This machine consists of Frame, Vacuum Motor, Impulse Sealer, Vacuum Clamp. This Vacuum and Packaging Machine has dimensions of length 700 mm x width 500 mm x height 700 mm. The impulse sealer used is Arashi Ais 400 type by using a VE115N 2 CFM type vacuum motor. From this vacuum motor will later be connected to the vacuum clamp as a tool to clamp the packaging during the process of vacuuming the air in the package. This machine is equipped with a limit switch on the vacuum clamp that works to connect the current to the vacuum motor so that the vacuum motor automatically turns on. The operation of this vacuum and packaging machine is quite simple by inserting the packaging containing the product into the sealer and at the end of the package clamped on the vacuum clamp, the vacuum motor will automatically turn on, the next step is to operate the impulse sealer so that the product is finished packed under vacuum. From the design results, the bending stress of the frame is 3.172 N / mm2, the working time of the vacuum and sealer is 1.54 s per package, and the estimated price of the machine is Rp. 1,879,000

Abstract

In 2007 the government has targeted rice production to reach 61 million tons of dry milled grain (GKG) through the National Rice Production Improvement Program (P2BN). To support this program, it is not only about inputs in the form of area and types of plants cultivated, but also about the need for agricultural tools and machines as supporting factors for farming. The role of mechanization engineering and technology is one of the efforts to create a better and more efficient agricultural system, which includes the provision of machinery and equipment, encouraging farmers to increase land productivity, overcoming transport problems and improving the quality of land and agricultural products. The development of mechanization technology based on physical and socio-economic conditions will have a positive impact on change and encourage the development of agricultural businesses.

Abstract

Due to the weaknesses of some existing areca peelers, some modifications were made. Modifications were made to the gear stripper, the addition of the inlet funnel, the gear stripper cover, and the exit funnel. The purpose of this modification of the design of the areca nut peeling machine is to make it easier for areca-producing farmers to peel their skin. Engine design specifications, using a 1/2 HP motor with a speed of 1500 rpm, 2-inch, and 10-inch pulleys, and a capacity of 5.16 kg/hour. The result of this modification is stated to be able to perform stripping with a large capacity. This machine is expected to be able to meet the needs of manual areca nut peelers to increase productivity.

Abstract

Energy needs in Indonesia continue to increase, while the availability of non-renewable energy sources is decreasing and is exacerbated by the increasing use of fuels that are not environmentally friendly, so efforts are needed to find alternative uses of renewable energy that are renewable and environmentally friendly. The Cirebon coast has good wind conditions which can be used to create renewable energy sources through the wind. This study aims to utilize the energy that is already available by designing a horizontal wind turbine blade. The method used starts from literature study, selecting airfoils, analyzing data, selecting the best airfoils, analyzing the best airfoils and ending with design drawings. The initial data used as the initial design is the Cirebon City wind data which has the highest average wind speed of 9 m/s. This study designed a horizontal wind turbine blade using QBlade Software with 3 types of NACA, NACA 4415, 6412 and 6415. NACA 6415 has a power coefficient of 0.40%, the highest coefficient is then obtained NACA 6412 with a coefficient of 0.41%, and The highest power coefficient was obtained by NACA 4415 with a coefficient of 44%

Abstract

Utilization of wind energy is one option to produce electrical energy in the form of wind turbines. Wind energy is also renewable energy that can be utilized because of the potential for wind energy in Indonesia with an average wind speed of 2- 6 m/s. The purpose of this performance analysis is to obtain high efficiency so that the S2091 taperless blade can rotate at relatively low Indonesian wind speeds. Airfoil S2091 has an optimal Cl/Cd value to produce 500 W of power. This performance analysis uses the Blade Element Momentum (BEM) method in which the blade is divided into several elements, starting from determining the radius, chord, and twist on the blade. The assumed parameters will be simulated using Qblade v0.96 software and designing 3D blade designs using SolidWorks software. The dimensions of the taperless blade with the S2091 airfoil have a radius of 0.8 m, a chord of 0.12 m, a twist angle of 6.96o - 9.96o, and a maximum Cp value of 47% at a TSR of 4.5. At a speed of 12 m/s the maximum power generated is 998 W when the angular speed of the blade is 645 rpm and the minimum power generated is 95 W. Then the average power generated is 640.94 W. The results of field tests have a maximum charging power of 138 .46 W and an average charging of 14.13 W. Then the power obtained is 257.80 Wh. From these data, the efficiency of the blade system is 30%–40% and the efficiency of field testing is 34.16%.

Abstract

Polymer Matrix Composite (PMC) is a composite material that uses a polymer matrix most widely used in industry, transportation, and everyday life. Plywood is one of the current industrial needs that is growing rapidly and is becoming a leading export. However, besides that, the availability of raw materials is decreasing along with deforestation. Resulting in the need for alternative raw materials. Straw is one of the largest wastes that is not utilized optimally. It can be used as straw as a reinforcing material for environmentally friendly composite materials. Composite material was made using the hand lay up method, with straw fiber purchased with 4% NaOH treatment using Yukalac 157 BQTN-EX unsaturated polyester resin and MEPOXE A hardener. Then, tensile testing was carried out with volume fractions of straw fiber 5%, 10% 20% and 30 % This shows that the volume fraction of straw fiber affects the strength of the composite material. The tensile strength value of the straw fiber composite meets the minimum standard for tensile strength in plywood. Judging from the surface structure of the composite material, there are voids or air bubbles. However, the most visible in the sample with fractions of 10% and 20%. Further research needs to be done with other tests such as hit test, sandpaper test to meet the requirements for SNI standard plywood.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the value of tensile strength, impact and microstructure test results on ST 37 steel plates due to variations in current strength of 80 A, 85 A and 90 A and 1G, 2G and 3G welding positions. The results of this study show the value of Max.load, current strength of 80 A 3G welding position gets the highest value of 5650 kgf, value of Tinsile strength, current strength of 80 A 3G welding position gets the highest value of 44.78 (kgf/mm2), then the strain value, the current strength of 80 A for the 3G welding position gets the highest value of 0.9% and the value of the modulus of elasticity, the current strength of 80 A for the 3G welding position gets the highest value of 97.94 (GPa,KN/mm2), In the value of the impact test results, the current strength of 80 A is the 1G welding position that gets the highest value, which is 116 Joules. Abstract

This 2019 DIPA Grand’s research designed and fabricated the size of hydraulic ram (hydram) pump utilized in Pakandangan, Padang Pariaman Regency. There is a water source in this area which has not been functioned adequately to irrigate the paddy field of 10 hectares due to the location of the paddy field which is higher than the water source. However, the use of designed hydram pump has no been maximized as the pump’s optimal performance was not determined yet. Therefore, a hydram pump was designed by varying the load of waste valve in the weight of 400 g, 600 g, 800 g, 1,000 g, and 1,200 gr. It was also varied in the volume of the chamber when the pump operated which were 4.86 lt, 5.76 lt, 6.48 lt, 7.29 lt, and 8.1lt. The height (Hd) of the inlet pipe was 1 m, and the lift height (Hs) of the outlet pipe was 5 m. The results obtained from Pump performance increases with increasing cylinder volume. The increase in the load of the exhaust valve volume of the tube remains a significant decrease. Hydram pump performance occurs at a load of 400 g with a tube volume of 8.1 l with an efficiency of 53%

Abstract

The problem of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has not stopped. It was necessary to implement the Covid-19 protocol to avoid spreading, one of which is to wash hand regularly using and circulating water. Based on these reasons, it was still necessary to develop automatic hand washing equipment which is currently a primary need in public places, offices, and educational facilities. This study aims to modify the automatic sink using the Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller as a data processor and Ultrasonic HC-SR04 as a sensor; testing the function of the tool, namely automatic soap and water faucet, hand dryer, piezoelectric buzzer as an air level alarm, by utilizing the results of AC condensation as an water source. The results of this automatic sink modification can meet Covid-19 standards and can be used by all groups, especially schools and offices that have started to be active, so that with this tool it can reduce the spread of Covid-19. In addition, it is that the source of water from the condensation can be used as an alternative to water to save the current increasing use of PDAM water.

Abstract

In the Bukittinggi City Hospital building which has 6 floors, there is a water pump and a reservoir used to supply clean water for daily needs. Based on the reality in the field where there is no secondary data to determine the type of pump and reservoir. The purpose of this analysis is to obtain clean water discharge requirements, obtain the type of pump and ensure that the reservoir used for building C RSUD Kota Bukittinggi is in accordance with the type of pipe and reservoir installed in building C, floor 6. By using field studies and interviews and applying the formulas related to pump calculations. In determining the type of pump to be used in the building, it includes the required water discharge, determining the capacity of the components to be used such as pipe diameter, water tank capacity on the ground floor and roof of the building and the total head on the pipe. Based on the calculation results, the required water discharge is 0.08333 m 3 /min, the upper reservoir has a capacity of 150,000 liters, the bottom reservoir is 5,000 liters and the Hot that occurs is 18.429 m. Then the required pump specifications are 40 x 32B2 -51.5 Grundfos CM 10-3. The pump specifications are not much different from those that have been applied in the field.
