Abstract

This paper endeavors to explore cotemporary epistemology of islamic economic schools classified into threecategories: Baqir Sadr, Mainstream and alternative schools. These mainstreams have been applying differenceapproaches and paradigms to analyze islamic economics. This study shows that islamic economics has ‘doubleparadigm’.Inthis case, paradigmis a model or frameworkfor observationand understanding, which shapesbothwhat wesee and howweunderstand it. this paradigmsareofferedbythe muslim economists and also areexertedto understand the islamic economics problemsin which the scientific problemin islamic economics istheoccurred-gapbetweentheories, normsand facts. Variousparadigmsof islamic economics — Subjectivism,Positivism,and Deterritorialism— areto understood and explained howthe gap betweennormand fact occursinislamic economics. this gap is a complex challenge that must be understoond and explained byapplying amulti-disciplinerapproach.

Abstract

Artikel ini berbicara mengenai metode hisab takwim yang digunakan oleh tarekat Syattariyah dalammenentukan awal bulan Hijriah. Perbedaan mendasar metode hisab takwim dengan metode yang diterapkanoleh pemerintah, NU, dan Muhammadiyah adalah metode hisab takwim ini bisa dikatakan masih sangattradisional tidak didasarkan pada perhitungan astronomis sedikitpun.Metode yang diterapkan oleh tarekat Syattariyah di Minangkabau menjadi menarik karena mereka memulaipuasa Ramadhan dan hari raya Idul Fitri selalu terlambat satu atau dua hari dari yang ditetapkan olehpemerintah, sehingga muncul anggapan bahwa metode yang digunakan Syattariyah tidak mempunyai dasar.Oleh karena itu, artikel ini ingin menelusuri metode hisab takwim tarekat Syattariyah tersebut dari segi asalusul, dasar dalil, dan metode penghitungannya yang menyebabkan keterlambatan Syattariyah dalam memulaipuasa Ramadhan dan hari raya Idul Fitri.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengulas tentang salah satu pendekatan atau metodologi dalam studi islam (approaches of islamicstudies) yaitu pendekatan teologis-normatif. Tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa pendekatan ini juga berkontribusidalam memahami agama yang bersifat doktrin, nash dan dogma. Namun, disisi lain, pendekatan ini jugamendapat kritikan dari berbagai pihak khusunya para pemikir muslim kontemporer. Pendekatan semacamini menimbulkan pola dan tata pikir deduktif tekstualistik-skriptualistik. Hingga akhirnya, berimplikasi padapola pemikiran dan pemahaman keagamaan islam yang bersifat absolutly absolute yang mudah terjebak padaproses sakralisasi pemikiran keagamaan (taqdīs al-afkār al-dīniyah). Nah, Pola pikir semacam ini (mode ofthought) akan berimplikasi pada perilaku dan praktik keberagamaan (mode of conduct) yang bersifat kaku,rigid, stagnan, ekslusif, dan jumud. Hingga pada tataran yang ekstrem, antar pemeluk agama saling kafirmengafirkan,terjadi ketegangan (tension), konflik dan kekerasan(violence). Olehkarenaitu, diperlukanpendekatanyang akomodatif, fleksibel dan memperhatikan aspek historisitas pemikirankeagamaan sertamampumerawatdan menjaga harmonisasidan kerukunanantar umat beragamadi tengah arusglobalisasidanerapluralitasagama di republikini.

Abstract

This article contains the urgency of pluralistic Islamic education at schools. In common, the function of educationis an attempt to change the paradigm and social conditions of society towards a better, including the Islamiceducation. In the context of a multicultural and multiethnic country such as Indonesia, the education whichbased on pluralism becomes a necessity. This is understandable when seeing the reality in which the violence inthe name of religion is still rife in this country. The behavior shows, when the education is defined as a processof value’s transformation, education has not succeeded in creating students who are ready to accept diversity,especially diversity of religions and beliefs. This is where Islamic education is considered as an important role. Onthis reason, the article contains a conceptual study is presented for the purpose of presenting the limits and purposesof research to find an educational approach, teaching methods, and the competence of Islamic education teachersinsightful pluralism. Here are a few approaches that can be used, namely the multi perspectives’ approaches,historical approaches, sociological, psychological, aesthetic, dialogical, reflective and expressive approaches. Themethod can be used, among others: the exemplary methods, harvesting, work in group, brainstorming, andcase studies. In terms of competence, teachers who have the ability to teach pluralism are teachers who has anopen attitude, tolerance, active, and able to a ccept differences.

Abstract

This study focuses on tracking the dynamics of Indonesian conversations on moderate Islam thought. It attempts toanswer number of questions concerning with the base and background of moderate Islam in developing its ideologybetween fundamentalism and liberalism pattern, form and typology and the development of moderate Islam movementin Indonesia. For this objectives, this study examines the role of the moderate Islam institution in Indonesia. This studyshows that Muslim thinkers have made some of the greatest intellectual and theoretical contributions to the debatesover Islam and human rights, Islam and democracy, and Islam and women’s rights. This position is in line with thestate concerns. This means that Moderate Islam in Indonesia has provided the foundations of civil society that madethe transition to democracy possible whereas in the Middle East Islam has been seen as anathema to democratization.

Abstract

This paper certainly examines the relationship between religion and consumer’s choice towards the islamicbank in Bengkulu, Province. Concerning in religion preference system and its relation with consumer’s choicethe research is crucially expected to discover the relationship between religion, and the consumer’s choice ofislamic bank in Bengkulu. The reason why the issues must be studied is from theoritical foundation in whichbelief system like religion, and rationality is a main factor determining the consumer’s choice towards islamicbank in varied-cases (Yusof; Bahari; Adanan: 2014). Hence, there are various facts as an important settingof research—moeslem population in Bengkulu; level of FDR (finance to deposits ration) for many islamicbank in Bengkulu is 182,3% and also NPF level is 3.30%. Based on this setting, the study intentionaly usesthe grounded theory as approach. It directly legitimates two theories as guidance for the research—rationalitychoice theory and shopping preference theory.The research successfully finds a set of thesis that religion’s rules in consumer’s choice of islamic bank can bedescribed shortly in two models—religion as Model of ” and “for Reality. These models emerge in consumer’sbehaviour of how they select the islamic bank in Bengkulu. Empirically, it can be attested from the perception,and definition toward islamic bank as a personal experience. In fact, Islam as a part of religions modifiedas justification for their choice. Whilst consumers tend to be a loyal consumer of Islamic bank based on thebelief-- framework produced from their religion, for some users it is eventually because of the economics interest.For example, islamic bank choice is based on the ultimate-goal to gain exceeded-profit rather merits offeredby the conventinal bank.

Abstract

IAIN Imam Bonjol menjadi perguruan tinggi islam tertua di Sumatera Barat dan menjadi tonggak sejarahdalam menghidupkan kembali tradisi Islam di Sumatera Barat sebagai daerah pusat perkembangan danpembaharuan Islam di Nusantara, ditinjau dari tokoh, institusi/lembaga-lembaga pendidikan dan pemikiranpemikirantentang keislaman yang pernahberjaya. Sebagaisebuah lembaga pendidikan yang dibangun diataslandasan keIslamantentulah memiliki keunggulan dan keterbatasan. Keunggulandapat dilihat darikontribusinyadalam kehidupan masyarakatyang membawa perubahansecaraekonomis terutamabagimasyarakatdi lingkungan kampus. Abstract

The resistance of Minangkabau’s scholars against colonial policy of education in the early of 20th centurystarted from a scientific study has revealed that the pre-conditions that led to the birth of the movement is thepenetration of the colonial government against the people in this area and plan the implementation of policiesin the field of education, namely Ordinance 1928 and teachers’ Ordinance in 1932. This historical experiencewas seen by scholars Minangkabau might impede the freedom and the rights to broadcast the Islamic religion.Various reactions appeared and Islamic ideology seems to be the main driving to oppose colonial rule relatedteachers’ ordinancy and illegal schools. The spirit of nationalism that was born at the beginning of the 20thcentury were also encouraged scholars to take the fight against the colonial policy. In line with this goal, thescholars utilizing the network that has been built on Islamic educational institutions in the past to build aresource (strength) and then to form a committee as institutional resistance. Resistance itself they did in theform of protests by the general meeting of Minangkabau’s scholars and then proceed with the delivery of voteof no confidence to the colonial government. The resistance impacted the emerging alliance of young and oldscholars, the birth of a radical political party in Minangkabau and the pressure of the colonial government

Abstract

Pengantar buku Menjinakkan Islam, Strategi Politik Orde Baru ini ditulis oleh Fadlizon, WakilKetua DPR RI (2014-2015), bertajuk Kekuatan Islam Politik dalam Pentas Demokrasi. Fadlizonmengemukakan kilasan sejarah Islam dan umat Islam dalam tradisi politik di Indonesia. Sebagaikelompok mayoritas dalam populasi, umat Islam Indonesia sangat berpengaruh terhadap arahpembangunan demokrasi. Meskipun demikian, dalam perjalananannya Islam Politik di Indonesiatelah mengalami pasang surut, terutama dalam hubungannya dengan rezim yang tengah berkuasa.

Abstract

Pendidikan di era globalisasi seharusnya menekankan pada tumbuhnya pribadi yang terikat kepada norma-norma etnisitas atau kearifan lokal yang berkembang sesuai perkembangan zaman dan pribadi yang mempunyai identitas sebagai kelompok bangsa tertentu. Untuk menumbuhkan pribadi yang memiliki identitas budaya dalam menghadapi globalisasi tersebut dibutuhkan pendidikan yang trasformatif, yaitu pendidikan yang mampu mengembangkan kemampuan pribadi dalam memilih secara personal berbagai pengaruh di era globalisasi saat ini. Dasar-dasar local wisdom yang utama tersebut adalah nilai-nilai Pancasila. Pancasila adalah ideology genuine bangsa yang  digali dari sejarah panjang  dan budaya asli Indonesia. Pancasila seharusnya menjadi identitas bangsa Indonesia yang bhinneka. Sebagai idologi, Pancasila digali dari khazanah kebudayaan, sejarah kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia sejak dahulu kala. Dan nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam Pancasila, masih tetap aktual dan relevan dengan kehidupa saat ini dan yang akan datang, termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan.
