Abstract

This research is a qualitative research which describes the condition of farmers and ranchers in the research location based on the observed variables. The method used is a survey method, with the sampling technique is Stratified Random Sampling. This location was chosen because it is one of the districts where the majority of the people are farmers and breeders with an integrated system of rice plants and cattle, while the population in this study is the people of the Semangga District who carry out integrated farming of rice and cattle raising. Sources of data in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data collection was carried out using several techniques, namely (a) Observation, namely direct observation in the field (b) Interview, conducted directly to farmers and ranchers with the help of questionnaires and (c) Documentation, namely taking pictures in the field. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis by looking at the average and percentage on each business characteristic. The conclusion of this study is that the average number of cattle kept is 2 heads with a land area of 3 ha, the highest percentage of education level is SD (49%) and the lowest is SI (1%), the average age of the respondents is in the productive age, namely 26-50 years (94%), the highest length of business is 6-10 years (53%) and the average family responsibilities are 1-4 people (94%).

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the productivity of gayo buffalo at different body colors comprehensively based on reproduction performance, to analyze the population structure of gayo buffalo, and evaluate the potential development of gayo buffalo based on the availability of forage in approach of study to KPPR Value (the capacity of ruminants population increasing) in Central Aceh District, Aceh Province. This research method used were the survey and direct observation (interview with the structured questionnaire). This research used the primary data was 250 buffalo or 65 farmers as respondent, and the secoundary data used to analyze the reproduction performance of gayo buffalo which was different body color, also used to analyze the potential development strategy of gayo buffalo. the productivity performance of gayo buffalo were analyzed from BCS (Body ondition Scoring) value to estimate body weight of gayo buffalo. The result showed that the reproduction performance closed to perfect, except the value of calving interval. The average of BCS value of the different gayo buffalo’s body color was found as <3, which the BCS value of female gayo buffalo was smaller than male, at the older ages. The result showed that the body weight of the female gayo buffalo in the different body color was higher balue than male, at the older group of ages. The result showed that the KPPTR value of Bintang Regency was 5,295,66 ST, slightly higher than KPPTR value of Linge Regency which was 5,212,99 ST

Abstract

The aim of research is to know effect green bean sprouts waste (GBSW) to body weight, consumption, feed conversion, R/C and B/C Peking Duck (anasplatyrhychos). Material of research used 80 DOD peking duck. Experimental design for this research used with completely randomized design (CRD) one way with three treatment T1(0% GBSW),T2(5%GBSW),T3(10% GBSW), and T4(15% GBSW) with 4 replicated each of them U1, U2 U3 and U4 and used Duncan. Peking duck age 0-2 weeks maintenance with intensive system and give them commercial feed. Alternative feed gived them in 2-8 weeks age, and giving for feed three times a day. The result of research showed that effect green bean sprouts not significant Different (P>0.05) to body weight, feed consumption and feed conversion Peking duck. The conclusion for this research is green bean waste for alternative feed in Peking duck not influence for body weight, feed consumption, feed conversion.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the carrying capacity of Bali cattle development in the Bali cattle breeding centre in the South Konawe Regency. The location determination was determined by purposive sampling with the consideration that this area is the centre of Bali cattle breeding in Indonesia. The variables that will be seen are the characteristics of the respondents and the carrying capacity of Bali cattle development, the carrying capacity of Bali cattle development based on Location Quotient (LQ) analysis. The results of this study indicate that natural resources are supporting the development of the Bali cattle business in the breeding centre area which includes a total population of 18,842 heads (27%) of the total population, has the potential as a basis for livestock development with an LQ value of 1.1.

Abstract

Maggot black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) is a black soldier fly larva that is often found in grass and leaves, has a chewy texture, and is able to naturally secrete amylase enzymes. Organic waste from fruit waste and bagasse has the potential to damage the environment but can be used as maggot feed. This study aims to determine the effect of adding bagasse on the performance of the maggot black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens). This research was conducted from April 1, 2022, to April 29, 2022, at UPT Agroscience Technopark, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Lamongan Islamic University, Jl. Veteran No. 53 A Lamongan, Kab. Lamongan, East Java. The research method used RAL, namely 4 treatments and 3 replications. With the number population, the data taken include population density, weight and maggot length. The results of the study with a population of p1: 276, p2: 234 and p3: 202 tails. It was found that the average maggot population density was 0.005 fish/cm2, the average maggot weight was 35 grams, and the maggot length averaged 21.61 mm.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the fertility of broiler chicken eggs crossed with Bangkok roosters, using artificial insemination techniques in broiler broodstock. Chickens used in this study are one male Bangkok chicken and nine broodstocks, then the eggs from the cross were taken and hatched using a semi-automatic hatching machine. The variables observed in this study were egg weight, fertility, hatchability, and hatching weight. The results of this drop are then percentage using an average count and the data obtained will be processed using descriptive analysis. The results of this study showed the fertility results of IB reached 81.48% and the hatchability of 69.23%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of perception of farmers in the application of zero waste farming systems on the integration of goats on pepper plantations using gamal tree supports. The observed variables are; perception of zero waste, innovation, productivity, technical, economic, environmental and social, waste management, added value, feasibility, and aspects of risk of loss. The perception value category consists of 5 levels, namely; very high, high, low and very low. Farmers' perception of zero waste agriculture is high (79.6%), innovation is very high (87.6%), productivity is very high (94.8%), technical perception is high (69 .2%), economic perception level is very high (90.8%), environmental and social perception level is high (67.6%), waste treatment level is very high perception (97.6%), value added perception level is very high ( 96,8%), the feasibility of the perception level is very high (85.6%), and the risk aspect of the loss has a high perception level (79.6%). The level of perception is high on the aspect of the zero waste perception indicator, technical, environmental and social, and the risk of loss aspect and very high on the aspect of the zero waste perception indicator, innovation, productivity, economy, waste management, added value, and feasibility.

Abstract

Sugarcane bagasse is an agricultural waste that could be processed into ruminant alternative feed. Sugarcane bagasse processing was very necessary to improve the nutritional as animal feed using fermentation application which was one way to increase the nutritional of sugarcane bagasse using cow feces inoculum and EM-4 (Effective Microorganism-4). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect nutritional quality of fermented sugarcane bagasse using different types of inoculum. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications that are ; P0: sugarcane bagasse without inoculum addition (control), P1: sugarcane bagasse + 5% cattle feces, P2: sugarcane bagasse + EM-4 10%, P3: sugarcane bagasse + 5% cattle feces + E-4 10%. The parameters measured include dry content, crude protein, crude fiber, and crude fat. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that a mixture of 5% cow feces and 10% EM-4 had a very significant effect (P <0.01) to increase crude protein and significantly (P <0.05) to reduce crude fiber. The conclusion of this research was the addition of 5% cow feces inoculum and 10% EM-4 (P3 treatment) was the best treatment because it increased crude protein content and decreased crude fiber
