Abstract

The implementation of occupational safety and health principles was conducted by establishingpolicies, planning and its implementation, monitoring and evaluating occupational safety and healthperformances, as well as reviewing and improvement of that performances. The aim of this study was toevaluate the implementation of the principles of occupational safety and health in order to reduce accidentrates among construction workers at construction site of the Skyline project in Surabaya.This was an observational study with cross sectional approach. Data were collected by means ofinterviews and observations using a check list. The number of population was 535 and the sample consistedof 84 construction workers and 6 staffs of occupational safety and health committee which were drawnrandomly. Data obtained were analyzed descriptively using tabulation and interpretation.The results showed that majority of respondents aged 40 years (77,38%), duration ofemployment 1-5 years (52,38%), and their educational level were elementary and junior high school(48,81%). These respondents have adequate knowledge in safety and health principles. Occupationalsafety and health has been adequately practiced.Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the occupational safety and health inthis company had been adequately implemented. It is recommended to this company to maintain anduphold its occupational safety and health programs.

Abstract

Fatigue is a condition of decreased efficiency and decreased work capacity and endurance. Fatigue can be influenced by individual factors such as age, length of work and nutritional status. Fatigue can also be influenced by physical environmental factors, namely heat pressure. The purpose of this study was to know the influence of heat pressure on fatigue in workers in the workshop of Sub Assembly, Assembly MPL and Assembly CBL PT. X Year 2019.This type of research is observational analytic with research design using Cross Sectional approach. a sample size of 34 workers. Data analysis was performed by univariate analysis and bivariate test with a statistical test namely Chi Square Test.Research results on workers in the Commercial Ship Division of X mostly aged ≤ 40 years with 91.2% with working duration kerja 8 hours / day as much as 100%, having fat nutritional status as much as 58.8%, heat exposure did not meet the requirements as much as 58.8% and experienced fatigue as much as 88 , 2%. The results of statistical tests using the Chi Square test showed p value equal to 0,039 (p value ≤ 0,05) which means there is an influence of heat pressure on the fatigue of workers in the Merchant Marine Division of PT. X in 2019.It is recommended to add an air ventilation place in the form of a window, adding a blower and workers often consume drinking water provided by the company. Keywords: Heat Pressure, Fatigue

Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch on reduction of Nickel (Ni) heavy metal in wastewater by using a water plant lettuce (Pistiastratiotes L.) was conducted with the aim of knowing the level of Ni reduction in wastewater after the plants aregiven water plant lettuce (Pistia stratiotes L.). The technique used in processing wastewater of the metal platingis phytoremediation.This study was pure experiment with pretest-posttest design with control group used completerandomized design (CRD). This study was conducted in December to June, 2016.The results showed that the level of Ni in wastewater decreased after 1 day, 3 day and 6 day treatmentwith water plant lettuce. From the statistical test result, the reduction of Ni was significant with 5 plants by p =0.023 α. Based on the contact time duration, the result of statistical test was p = 0.000 α. The more thenumber of plants used, the greater the reduction of Nickel level. The longer the contact time of the water plantwith wastewater, the greater the reduction of Nickel level in wastewater.For further study, it is suggested to use plant that is hyper tolerant against contaminants and usedmore plants to proceed wastewater and more comparable with the level of Ni metal contained in wastewatermetal plating.Keywords : Nickel level reduction, water plant lettuce (Pistia stratiotes L.),contact duration, phytoremediation.

Abstract

Provinsi Jawa Timur merupakan provinsi tertinggi kedua kasus TB Paru di Indonesia. Pada tahun 2018 kasus TB Paru di Puskesmas Perak Timur Kecamatan Pabean Cantikan Kota Surabaya berjumlah 143 kasus. Kurangnya dukungan keluarga merupakan faktor penyebab masih tingginya kejadian TB Paru di Indonesia. Praktik perilaku pencegahan penularan penyakit TB Paru yang rendah merupakan faktor penyebab penyebaran TB Paru. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh dukungan sosial terhadap perilaku pencegahan penularan penyakit pada penderita TB Paru di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Perak Timur.            Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuantitatif dan pendekatan cross sectional study. Analisis data menggunakan Uji Regresi Linier Berganda. Sebanyak 59 responden diambil dengan simple random sampling untuk mengamati Dukungan Sosial meliputi dukungan emosional, instrumental, informasi, dan jaringan sosial.            Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas penderita TB Paru di Puskesmas Perak Timur adalah laki-laki (67,8%), berpendidikan terakhir SMA (52,5%), dan berusia kategori dewasa akhir antara 36-45 tahun (27,2%). Diketahui bahwa penderita TB Paru di Puskesmas Perak Timur sebanyak 74,8% telah menerapkan perilaku pencegahan penularan penyakit yang baik. Berdasar uji regresi linier berganda di ketahui bahwa nilai R square variabel dukungan sosial adalah sebesar 0,595. Dengan nilai sumbangan relatif dukungan emosional 55,55%, dukungan instrumental 5,31%, dukungan informasi 21,21%, dan dukungan jaringan sosial 17,93%.            Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial berpengaruh kuat terhadap perilaku pencegahan penularan penyakit pada penderita TB Paru. Bagi puskesmas sebaiknya mengoptimalkan sosialisasi terkait peran dukungan sosial bagi penderita TB Paru, sehingga masyarakat dapat berperan aktif memberikan dukungan sosial untuk meningkatkan perilaku pencegahan penularan penyakit pada penderita TB Paru.

Abstract

Motor vehicle exhaust gas consists of NOx, SOx, CO, lead (Pb) and Hydrocarbons. Toll gate keepersare at high risk of exposure to lead (Pb) from motor vehicle exhaust gas. The purpose of this studyis to determine blood lead level of toll gate keepers.This study is an observational study with cross-sectional approach. Population of the study was 97toll gate keepers and 30 of them were taken as samples. Samples were taken from both morningand afternoon shift. Data was taken through observation, measurement of lead (Pb) level in air andmeasured blood lead level of toll collectors.Results shows that most of the toll gate keepers were over 40 years old (93.3%). 29 collectors(96.7%) has employment period of more than 10 years. 15 Toll gate keepers (50%) wear PPE ontheir duty. Level of lead in the air has exceeded the TLV. Test results of blood lead levels showsnormal level in all workers.Conclusion asserts that toll gate keepers of over 40 years of age and 10 years of employment period showed higher average concentration of lead (Pb). Collectors wearing PPE on their duty showed higher average blood lead levels. It is recommended to the company to conduct trainingon dangers of lead in working environment to all tollgate keepers. Tollgate keepers are alsosuggested to always maintain their personal hygiene to avoid the influence of heavy metals lead(Pb) in the body.

Abstract

Sampai saat ini pemanfaatan limbah marmer kurang maksimal. Perminggu dapat menghasilkan limbah ± 1 sampai 10 ton. Paving block pada umumnya menggunakan campuran pasir dan semen dengan perbandingan 1 : 5. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui adanya pengaruh perbedaan kuat tekan dan serap air dengan komposisi berbeda dan pengujian hari dengan mengacu standart (SNI 03-0691-1996).Disini mencoba memanfaatkan limbah digunakan untuk Paving block dengan 4 variasi campuran 1 Pc : 5 Ps, 1 Pc : 5 Lm, 1 Pc : 3 Lm : 2 Ps, 1 Pc : 2 Lm : 3 Ps dengan uji kuat tekan dan serap air hari ke-7, 14, 21 dan 28 hari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan rancangan Pottest Only Control Group Design dan data di analisis dengan uji One Way Anova.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan uji kuat tekan pada kontrol dan 4 variasi paling tinggi hari ke-28 sebesar 2,10 MPa dan variasi kode B 0,86, kode C 1,47 dan kode D 2,09 (MPa). Hasil uji serap air memenuhi standart maksimal penyerapan 10%. Berdasarkan uji statistik signifikan menunjukkan 0,001 0,05, yang berarti Ho ditolak ada perbedaan kuat tekan dan serap air Paving block dengan ketiga variasi kelompok.Kesimpulan kuat tekan Paving block kontrol dan 4 variasi paling tinggi hari ke-28 2,10 MPa dan komposisi D 2,09 MPa tetapi masih di bawah standart. Uji serap air Paving block memenuhi standart. Disarankan peneliti selanjutnya menambah campuran 2 Pc : 3 Lm : 5 Ps dan penambahan umur 35 hari. Kata Kunci : Limbah Marmer, Kuat Tekan, Serap Air, Paving Block

Abstract

Human needs water to meet the main needs for drinking water. In some areas in Indonesia, especially Dusun Karangwungu, Gresik shortage of water still frequently happens. The absence of water treatment in the reservoir exists in the area prompted me to conduct a research on physical, chemical, and microbiology of the water to be processed as drinking water. This is a descriptive typed study and data were collected through the use of secondary data, laboratory examinations, and observations. After sampling, the sample was then given the treatment of coagulation, fitasion and chlorination. Laboratory results were then compared with Minister Regulation No. 492 of 2010. The objective of this study was to proceed the reservoir water into drinking water in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation number 492 year 2010 on Drinking Water Quality. The results of the study showed reduction in 19 test parameters in accordance with Permenkes 492/2010. The results showed that the reservoir water can be used as raw material for drinking water by coagulation, filtration, and chlorination. To society is expected to use reservoir water into drinking water to meet the needs. Further research for additional parameters in accordance with the Health Minister Regulation 492/2010 and Breakpoint chlorination and Chlor absorbance Power in chlorination process can be carried out. Abstract

Surabaya city are scarlatina endemis area with the number of cases who are still high. Last three yearsdata, showing patient of scarlatina totality 3.379 people in 2010, 1.008 people in 2011 and 1.091 people in2012. Highest of scarlatina cases purpose in long exposure frequency pesticides to do spraying onoperators fogging the longer close fitting. Operators fogging have a risk exposure of pesticides. This willbe worse if not supported by the use of APD good and right. This research aimed to assessthe durationwork, long exposure and using of safety aparatus with cholinesterase levels on operators foggingThe kind of research used is research that is both a moment of observational (cross sectional). Datacollecting by means of observation and spread a questionnaire. An population research is the foggingguidance operator service and control a vector department of health city surabaya in the city of surabayawith the number is 70 operators fogging by samples41 responden taken in simple random sampling. Datanext presented in table form and analyzed in descriptive.The results showed that the majority of operators fogging over 3 years 70.7%, overall long exposure(100%) of less than 5 hours and as much as 78.0% operator fogging wear APD but not complete(100%)with normal cholinesterase ( 75 - 100% )With see the result of this research was then suggested to operators of the pesticide fogging shouldreduce exposure by them self, no smoking and eat / drink after if pesticides contact and always forwashing hands using soap with clean water.

Abstract

Tenaga kerja yang terpapar panas dapat mengalami peningkatan tekanan darah. Peningkatan tekanan darah juga bisa disebabkan oleh karakteristik individu tenaga kerja yaitu usia,masa kerja, status gizi, dan kebiasaan merokok. Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari pengaruh faktor yang mempengaruhi tekanan darah tenaga kerja yang terpapar panas.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian analitik observasional dengan desain cross sectional. Prosedur pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi lingkungan kerja, wawancara tenaga kerja, pengukuran tekanan darah (sistolik dan diastolik) sebelum dan sesudah bekerja, dan pengukuran tekanan panas dilakukan dengan metode Indeks Suhu Basah dan Bola (ISBB). Jumlah sampel sebanyak 36 tenaga kerja diambil secara simple random sampling. Selanjutnya data yang sudah dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan uji wilcoxon signed ranks dan uji kendall’s tau.Hasil penelitian pada pengukuran tekanan darah menunjukkan 77,8 % tenaga kerja mengalami peningkatan tekanan darah sesudah bekerja dan sebagian besar (91,7%) tenaga kerja terpapar tekanan panas 28oC. Sebagian besar (72,2%) berusia 40 tahun dengan masa kerja (86,1%) 5 tahun, dan (58,3%) memiliki status gizi normal, serta (69,4%) memiliki kebiasaan merokok.Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh antara tekanan panas, karakteristik individu (usia, masa kerja, dan kebiasaan merokok) terhadap peningkatan tekanan darah, p0,05. Tidak ada pengaruh antara status gizi terhadap peningkatan tekanan darah, p0,05. Disarankan perlu melakukan pengendalian teknik dengan menambahkan ventilasi alami berupa jendela, memperbaiki local exhaust ventilation yang tidak berfungsi dengan baik, serta menambahkan exhaust fan. Memberikan jam istirahat yang sesuai dengan SOP perusahan yang telah ditentukan dan memberikan tes kesehatan awal dan berkala. Alat pelindung diri khususnya baju kerja sebaiknya terbuat dari bahan katun. Kata Kunci : Karakteristik Individu, Tekanan Darah, Terpapar Panas

Abstract

Pacitan district are malaria endemic areas. Built in that area still has a high malariacases. There were 432 cases in 2010 and there were 233 cases in 2011 at the area. Thenumber of cases malaria in sub Tegalombo were 23 Cases. Purpose of this study was todescribe the Anopheles spp populations in the sub district Tegalombo Pacitan at 2013.The research was an observational research, it was cross-sectional study. The data wasconducted through observation, measurement, counting and examining laboratory.Anopheles spp in Tegalombo District was An.sconltus, An. vagu~ An.ermateas.An.berbrostris, An.subpictus, An.kochi, An.maculatus and An.teselatus. The most of thepopulation was An. vagus. Anopheles spp had higt biting activity 23.00-24.00 pm. Eight spesiesAnopheles spp have blood seeking behavior outside the home (eksofagik) and resting behavioroutside the home (eksofilik).It will be required confirmation of Anopheles vagus as vector malaria disease. Thesociety should be using long sleeves for their activity, and using net for their sleeping time. Itis necessaryto explain the risk of malaria transmission and prevention of it.Key word: Community of Anopheles spp and behavior of Anopheles spp.
