Abstract

Background: Morbus Hansen (Leprosy) is a skin health problem that is still often found in the people of West Nusa Tenggara. Leprosy is caused by various factors, including personal hygiene, water conditions, and nutrition. In addition to being infected by Micobacterium Leprae itself, hygiene factors and initial therapy will determine the success of treatment and the prognosis of the disease which will then affect the health and quality of life of the community. In the research that has been done, it is said that leprosy in Indonesian society, especially Nusa Tenggara, is still very large, even many people do not know about the disease and come with a certain level of severity. Situation Analysis: Health workers play an important role in disseminating knowledge of leprosy (Morbus Hansen) which has begun to appear at a certain level of severity, which can affect the quality of life of sufferers. Through this educational activity, it is hoped that there will be an increase in public knowledge about early detection of leprosy which may appear with an already poor prognosis and complications that affect the success of further therapy. Approach Method: The approach steps taken in this program consist of counseling the general public regarding the early detection of leprosy (Morbus Hansen) in the Sumbawa community at the Manambae Hospital. Results and Conclusions: Of the 20 questionnaires distributed, only 3 got a score of 75 and 17 others got a score below 50. After education was done in the form of watching videos simultaneously and reassessment 15 people got a score above 50 and 5 people got a score below 50 Visitors who are skin and sex polyclinic and general poly at Manambae Hospital have very little knowledge about Morbus Hansen, this can be seen from the results of filling out questionnaires before being given education. There is a very significant comparison between scores before being given education and after being given education. In medical principles prevention is better than cure, so it is important to conduct education with the aim of preventing disease.

Abstract

Background: Skin health problems are one of the most common diseases in coastal communities, caused by various factors, including personal hygiene, water conditions, and humidity. In the research that has been done, it is said that skin disease in coastal communities is a major problem for people living in coastal areas. Until now, skin diseases in coastal areas are still a problem for most Indonesian people, most of whom live on the coast. Situation Analysis: Health workers play an important role in disseminating knowledge about skin diseases that often appear in coastal communities, one of which is by organizing early detection counseling activities. Through this activity, it is hoped that there will be an increase in public knowledge about early detection of skin diseases that may appear in coastal communities. Method: The approach steps taken in this program consist of counseling the general public regarding the early detection of skin diseases in coastal communities. Results and Conclusions: In the provision of education which was preceded by a pre-test first, it showed that the people of the coastal area of Ampenan had low awareness and level of knowledge related to Skin Health, from 30 people who had been given education it was known that 25 people got a score of less than 50. After being given education about skin health and early detection of skin health, then an evaluation was carried out. It was found that there was an increase in the score to 20 people with a score above 50. Through these results, it is known that education on the introduction and early detection of skin diseases is important because it can prevent the severity and increase the number pain caused by skin diseases

Abstract

The Mandalika area has become an area of ​​global concern because it has a GP motorcycle racing circuit. Mandaika is geographically closely related to the 9 buffer villages. The village is Sade Village, which is a unified area that must be maintained due to the land being taken as backfill for the circuit construction area. Changes in land use are a threat that is already in sight due to the land becoming barren, it is necessary to provide knowledge about the dangers of disasters such as floods and landslides due to extreme weather. The obligation to provide knowledge on the dangers of flooding and landslides has been carried out with the help of funds from the DPP SPP Electrical Engineering, University of Mataram, through the Community Service program carried out by the research group on Electromagnetic Technology and Environmental Conservation for Humanity

Abstract

Cemara Beach which is located in South Sheet Village, Lembar District, West Lombok Regency is a potential tourist location to be developed. To redevelop the Cemara Beach Area as a post-Covid-19 tourist location, a good marketing strategy is needed. The Mataram University Community Service activity carried out in the Cemara Beach area aims to provide marketing knowledge to tourism actors in order to prepare the right marketing strategy after the Covid-19 Pandemic. This activity was carried out by means of door-to-door lectures along the beach in Cemara Hamlet. This is because this service took place at a time when the Pandemic was still ongoing. The result of this activity is that tourism actors at Cemara Beach are able to develop tourism marketing strategies that can be applied after the Covid-19 pandemic. Of all the service activities in Cemara Hamlet, this community service activity succeeded in providing enlightenment about marketing science to tourism actors about the Marketing Strategy that will be carried out after Covid-19.

Abstract

Maringkik Village is a fishing village located in East Lombok. This village has promising tourism potential due to the condition of the island which is surrounded by beaches with beautiful landscape. The natural beauty of Maringkik Village is starting to be covered by a serious waste problem, one of the waste problems is the unavailability of proper garbage dump, so people throw garbage into the sea or on the coast which results in environmental pollution. Therefore, an effort is needed to overcome this problem. There are several efforts that are expected to decrease the waste problem in Maringkik Village, among others, implementing a waste audit, socializing waste management and waste banks, establishing a waste bank and processing plastic waste into Eco brick that can be created into useful goods.

Abstract

Bayan Village is one of the villages in Bayan District, North Lombok Regency, which consists of 1.530 families with 5.255 people, most of whom work as farmers and ranchers. One of the potentials used by the community is in the tourism sector. Several potentials in the tourism sector in Bayan Village are Bayan Beleq Ancient Mosque, traditional houses, customary forests, terracing areas, Mandala swimming pool columns, and Singang Petune waterfall. However, the tourism potential is still not widely known to the public, so many tourists do not know about the tourism potential in this village. Therefore, through the Thematic Real Work-Study activities, University of Mataram with the theme Digital Village are expected to help the community and village officials in developing and promoting the tourism potential of Bayan Village. The implementation method used is observation, website creation, and socialization. The observations show that there is still a lack of public knowledge regarding the management or use of the internet network for tourism promotion. The attractive potential is still not sufficiently explored. A website has also been created to promote the tourism potential in Bayan Village. As the final stage, there has been socialization about the importance of tourist villages as a catalyst for micro-economic improvement.

Abstract

Cassava is one of the biggest commodities produced by the people of Geres (East Lombok). The high yield of cassava is not matched by the lack of utilization, so the selling value in the market is subordinate. The effort needed to enhance the selling value of cassava in the market is by making MOCAF. MOCAF is modified cassava flour with the principle of modifying cassava cells by fermentation. Regarding the development of the MOCAF business which rare and has great potential, so that the KKN Geres 2021/2022 with the theme of using cassava as MOCAF to support food diversity in Geres Village and expand the selling power of cassava. The purpose of the first activity is providing an explanation concerning MOCAF which is expected to increase public understanding due to the processing of cassava into MOCAF. The second activity is through direct training on the manufacture and packaging of MOCAF with the local community. The results of the activity are upgrading community knowledge and skills in processing cassava into MOCAF, as well as media like pamphlet to guide for making MOCAF.

Abstract

Residents of the village of Gabahan Rt. 05 Rw. Most of Jombor's 12 sub-districts work as farm laborers and hand laborers and desperately need additional income to meet the needs of their families. They have never received counseling or training on organic composting by universities or other institutions. From the results of the interview, several residents wanted counseling and training on the manufacture of organic compound fertilizer as an alternative to increase financial income. They want counseling with this theme because most of them do not understand how to make organic compost. The purpose of the service is 1. To provide counseling on how to make organic compost. 2. To provide training on how to make and pack organic compost. The training was carried out for 2 times. The method used is lectures and questions and answers, as well as practical guidance on how to make and pack organic compost. The target of this counseling and training is to increase the understanding of how to make 20% organic compost among the residents of Gabahan RT. 05 RW. 12 Jombor. From the results of the training in making organic compost for PKK women in the hamlet of Gabahan RT 05 RW 12 Jombor, it can be concluded that there was an increase in understanding of the process of making organic compost from an average score of 37.5 to 88.45 or an increase in understanding of 122, 4%. The results of the compost can be used by women as plant fertilizer, but can also be sold to increase income.

Abstract

In the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is characterized by the acceleration of information and technology where information is easily spread throughout the world, teachers have a very important role to prepare students so that they are able to process and understand information well and equipping the students with the skills to read is one of the ways out that teachers need to do. In teaching reading, teachers are required not only to train students' skill to understand texts, but also to train their skill to think actively, creatively and critically and thus, reading learning can provide adequate literacy skills to students. This community service activity aims to socialize the learning model of reading information texts to English teachers from private high schools in East Lombok district as well as train them in applying the model. This activity took place at Al-Badriyah Islamic High School and was attended by 27 teachers. The results of this activity showed that the participants looked enthusiastic and active in participating in the existing series of activities – paying attention and listening to the materials presented by the team, discussions or questions and answers related to presented materials and English learning problems and practicing learning models to read information texts. In addition, the results of the questionnaire for the evaluation of community service activities show that the participants welcomed this activity because they could increase their knowledge and insight, especially those related to teaching reading so that they hoped that there would be similar activities provided in the future.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service program is to provide knowledge about the importance of management, organization, the importance of entrepreneurship for the community, especially youth. The methods used in this activity as part of the mentoring are light discussions, lectures, discussions about the importance of management knowledge, local potential to develop an entrepreneurial spirit as well as entrepreneurial and economic insights in Islamic teachings. The result of this community service activity is that the community in Preparation village, Penanggak village, can develop knowledge about the material presented by seeing the enthusiasm and appreciation of the participants, the youth who participated from the many questions during the discussion. Awareness of the importance of skills in managing the 'village' organizational unit, and inculcating the entrepreneurial spirit of the community and youth are important factors to build and develop the village and the community in it so that it will soon become a definitive village and an independent village. Assistance from various parties is needed in order to increase management capacity and entrepreneurial spirit in the Preparation village of Penanggak village, Batulayar sub-district.
