Abstract

Nyala Api Asmara Hadi is a documentary film that raised about the life history and gait of Asmara Hadi as a multitalented person, where he was active in the struggle movement, became a writer and also a journalist. Asmara Hadi is also known as the son of Bung Karno's ideology, he is also known as someone who proposes the name Panca Sila. Asmara Hadi's life journey was lifted with a portrait of documentary style and documentary nostalgia with the main source, his own child and some of his comrades. It is intended that the disclosure of Asmara Hadi is based on an objective and correct view.

Abstract

This research discusses the moral message contained in animated cartoon series of Upin and Ipin, episode "Mother Day Special" to the learning process of children through the mass media of television as a medium of learning aid. This study aims to find out how the use of mass media television and the extent to which the mass media affect the public, especially children. The results of this study indicate that in the animated series Upin and Ipin, episode "Mother Day Special", there are some moral messages such as honesty, expressions of affection, love, appreciation, and gratitude. Other results indicate that mass media can be used as a medium of learning aids and greatly affect people’s lives, especially children.

Abstract

This film is based on phenomena that exist in society and are presented in the form of moving images. Surau and Silek movies are one of the fictional films that elevates the local cultural wisdom of the Minangkabau people, West Sumatera. This Movie tells the story of the culture of education in Surau, which is currently rare to find. This research seeks to reveal how a director represents Minangkabau ideology in the Surau and Silek Movies. The type of research used is qualitative by using Roland Barthes's semiotic method which develops two systems, namely signified and signifier and meanings contained and what they wish to convey. In the film Surau and Silek, religious and cultural values reflected in it have the meaning to change the perception of silat in Minang as the formation of the root character of Islam and can revive the surau.

Abstract

It has been 18 years The New Order didn’t exist anymore. But they still have a lot of impact on film and the audience. That impact happens on film beraucrat including distribution film and association of film worker, until method of film production including content story and the context. There are many changes on the influences of New Order. The influences isn’t always happen on verbal content like heroism film, collosal film, and political film, but also sneaking into drama film, teenager film, and also comedy film which is that film didn’t tell anything about political content, or the film that considered purely entertainment or commercial film. That’s become point of view of this article, using material content of drama, comedy, and teenager film to find the context of the New Order influences. There is some effort to planting New Order mind into the generation after 1998, while this regime treated and reconstructed some historical data according to their own truth, muffled freedom of expression on art (incuding film), and anti criticized.

Abstract

The development of communication media today, widely used by entrepreneurs to promote their products. One of the attractive promotional alternatives is to place ads on a film. Movies are able to convey an information and persuade an audience, so advertisers use the film as a promotional medium. This paper aims to convey the results of an analysis of product placement in the film. The object of this research are some products, namely beauty care hand body from Citra brand, Zalora's online shopping app and Biolysin's children's medicine promoted in the film in the movie of "Surga Yang Tak Dirindukan”. The film was directed by Kuntz Agus. In this study, the author uses descriptive qualitative research approach. The results showed that the product placement in accordance with the needs of the scene presented. Promotion through film media, can give understanding of the product to the public. With the understanding of the product, it is expected that people's buying interest will increase. Thus, the film can be one of an effective alternative media to promote products to the potential public.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) analyzing the psicology of Ludiro in the Opera Java film’s at the process to the Real stage according to the psychoanalytic theory of Jacques Lacan through the film forming alements, especially dialogue and the mise en scene; (2) motivating further research into psychoanalysis in the field of television and film. The subject in this study is the Java Opera film produced in 2006 by the SET Film Workshop and directed by Garin Nugroho. The object studied is Ludiro's character through film-forming elements and the psychoanalysis of Jacques Lacan. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with inductive analysis. Primary data of this research are Garin Nugroho's Java Opera film and the psychoanalytic theory of Jacques Lacan and secondary data in the form of thesis, journals, and books supporting the main theory. Data collection techniques were conducted by non-participant observation and literature study. The data that has been obtained is subsequently reduced and presented in the form of scene screencapture, chunks of dialogue and description to explain the discussion.

Abstract

The streets could be read as space all at once medium which full of social class representation. Through representation, text were not only seen as signs that had polisemic meaning but it was more as power contestation space where signs dominated each other. Media and text representation could appeared everywhere even in the hidden or careless rooms as toilets. This article which was a literature study discussed text that attached on vehicles such as cars and trucks. Each text showed the signs relation game in different social class and space which however met in the streets. In the space of streets, power context refered to subject that disseminated text and formed representation discourse.

Abstract

The Campus TV is a strategic forum for education and mutual relationships within the Indonesian art institutes organised by six art institutes in Indonesia under BKS-PTSI (Badan Koordinasi Seni Perguruan Tinggi Seni Indonesia). The purpose of the forum is to support the education of art and culture and also to promote values of the local wisdom using the streaming tv portal platform for the campus community and the general public. This strategy is to response the development of media and communication technology in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tukang Bubur Naik Haji is a television series on RCTI carrying religious and comedy genres. The popularity and continuation of Tukang Bubur Naik Haji: The Series since its beginning of the show on May 28, 2012 has ignited the issue that rating also contributes in maintaining the series continuation. The research is conducted to discuss about the contribution of rating based on Nielsen Audience Measurement Indonesia to thecontinuation of Tukang Bubur Naik Haji: The Series. The purpose of the research is to know the contribution given the research media to the success of a television show program as well as given the rating by Nielsen Audience Measurement Indonesia to the continuation of Tukang Bubur Naik Haji: The Series on RCTI. The result of the research is that the rating based on Nielsen Audience Measurement Indonesia plays an important role in the continuation of Tukang Bubur Naik Haji: The Series because in television industry business, rating is the currency used to sell the slot of shows as how Tukang Bubur Naik Haji offers to the advertising.
