Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus yaitu siklus I dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21 September 2018 dan siklus II pada tanggal 28 September 2018. Hasil penelitian siklus I diperoleh hasil pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada aktivitas guru yaitu nilai 60% kategori cukup, sedangkan aktivitas siswa yaitu 62% dengan kategori cukup, nilai rata-rata 76. Ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara individu sesuai dengan KKM yang ditetapkan yaitu 68, siswa yang tuntas 24 orang sedangkan siswa yang tidak tuntas 8 orang. Hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal diperoleh siswa yang tuntas 75% dan yang tidak tuntas 25%. hasil belajar siswa silkus I belum maksimal, dengan demikian maka dilanjutkan ke siklus berikutnya. Hasil penelitian pada siklus II diperoleh hasil pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada aktivitas guru yaitu nilai 73% dengan kategori baik nilai rata-rata 78,77. Ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa diperoleh 28 orang tuntas dan 4 orang yang tidak tuntas. Hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal diperoleh siswa yang tuntas 87,5% dan yang tidak tuntas 12,5%

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate (1) whether the use of newspaper is more effective than that of magazine in improving students’ writing skills, (2) whether the use of newspaper is more effective than that of conventional medium in improving students’ writing skills, (3) whether the use of magazine is more effective than that of conventional medium in improving students’ writing skills, and (4) the most effective medium of all: newspaper, magazine, and conventional medium in improving students’ writing skills. This study was a quasi-experimental research using Pretest-Post-test Control Group Design. The data were collected in SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta. The sample of the research was the students of class X7, X8, and X9 which were determined by using cluster simple random sampling. There were four hypotheses of this study and the research findings revealed that the hypotheses were accepted. It was indicated by all of the Sig values, which were lower than the level of significance (0.05). Further, the implications on classroom instruction and policy making are discussed

Abstract

Indonesia has various teachers’ professional development programs from the pre-service English teacher up to in-service English teacher managed by the government in order to boost the teachers’ professional development effectively. In fact, English teachers particularly in the elementary level keep struggling in the terms of skill and knowledge. Therefore, by carrying out the literature review, this paper analyzed the current system and what is happening with the elementary English teacher in Indonesia. The results showed that the elementary English teachers’ professional development system in Indonesia is very well-planned and systematic, which starts from each teacher education institutions through their courses and continues to the PPG program. In the in-service program supervision, KKG, and PPGJ/ Certification are the three big programs which are mandated by the MOEC and MORA. It is also found that Indonesia has long process and tortuous certification program, powerful and rooted Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), non-independent teachers’ law, and unspecific pre-service education’ program. Even though not all of the teacher development programs in Indonesia are presented in this present study, the researchers suggest that there should be more specific program for the English elementary teacher in Indonesia’s pre-service education. It is also suggested to all educational practitioners in Indonesia and other Asian countries to form more professional learning communities (PLCs) since teachers can gain more knowledge through learning together

Abstract

The objectives of the study are (1) to describe the types of interference which occurred in the translation of bilingual books, (2) to investigate the process of interference occurred in the translation of bilingual children reading books, and (3) to state the reason for linguistic interferences occurrence in the translation of bilingual books. This research uses qualitative research method especially the applied theory. The source of the data is the translated books “Seri HewanTer” published by Kids Bestari (2014). The data area analyzed based on Bogdan and Biglen’s stages/steps especially searching the data, arranging the data and interpreting. The validity of the is taken by applying investigator triangulation involves multiple data sources in an investigation to produce understanding. Based on the analysis, it is found that there are two kinds of interferences found they are (1) syntactical interference and (2) lexical interference. The syntactical interference consisted of omission interferences (28), misorder interferences (9) and misformation interferences (73). Then, lexical interference (45) consisted of pronominal interferences (30) and redundancy interferences (15).

Abstract

Penerapan metode diskusi dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa aktif dan termotivasi dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode diskusi. Motivasi siswa dalam belajar melalui metode diskusi berangsung-angsur menunjukkan perubahan positif dimana pada siklus I nilai motivasi tertinggi adalah 85 dan nilai terendah 50 serta nilai pengetahuan dengan rata-rata 72. Dan pada siklus II nilai motivasi tertinggi adalah 95 dan terendah 75 serta nilai pengetahuan dengan rata-rata 80. Penerapan metode diskusi dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar PAK Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Sipoholon Tahun Pembelajaran 2018/2019. Kata Kunci : Metode Diskusi, Motivasi Belajar

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) hubungan reward dan punishment oleh guru PAK dengan motivasi belajar siswa, (2) hubungan perhatian orang tua dengan motivasi belajar PAK siswa, (3) hubungan reward and punishment dan perhatian orang tua secara bersama-sama dengan motivasi belajar PAK siswa. Tehnik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan jumlah populasi 163 Siswa dengan jumlah sampel 49 Siswa yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik acak proposional berstrata. Teknik yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah angket dan dengan menggunakan uji hipotesis korelasi ganda. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan: (1) reward and punishment dengan motivasi belajar dengan rhitung> rtabel yaitu (0.43 > 0.28) dan thitung > ttabel yaitu (3.24> 2.00), (2) perhatian orang tua dengan motivasi belajar dengan rhitung> rtabel yaitu (0.44 > 0.28) dan thitung > ttabel yaitu (3.36> 2.00), (3) reward and punishment dan perhatian orang tua dengan motivasi belajar dengan rhitung = 0.53, dan uji signifikan diperoleh nilai Fh > Ft yaitu (8.98 > 3.19) maka koefisien korelasi ganda yang diuji adalah signifikan sehingga dapat diberlakukan dimana sampel diambil.
