Abstract

Introduction: In Indonesia, there has been a 10% increase in the span of five years for exclusive breastfeeding, however this is still far from the national target. One of the factors that can cause low rates of national exclusive breastfeeding is that not all babies have received an early initiation of breastfeeding. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding for babies aged 7-12 months in the work area of Wiyung Public Health Center, Surabaya. Methods: This study was a quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach. The study used a questionnaire as the research instrument given to 30 respondents, namely mothers who had 7-12 month old babies in the work area of Wiyung Public Health Center, Surabaya. Results: The percentage of early initiation of breastfeeding in babies aged 7-12 months was 53.33% meanwhile the percentage of exclusive was 73.33%. Using Chi Square Fisher Exact Test, it was found that there is no relationship between early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding for babies aged 7-12 months in the working area of the Wiyung Public Health Center in Surabaya. (The value of p = 0.574 with a value of α = 0.05, p>α). Conclusion: The early initiation of breastfeeding is not the only factor influencing exclusive breastfeeding for babies aged 7-12 months in the work area of the Wiyung Public Health Center in Surabaya. Further research is needed on other factors that can relate to and influence exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Introduction: ICH (intracerebral hemorrhage) is a medical emergency with high mortality and morbidity that occurs in 15-20% of stroke cases. However, in the Multicenter Surgical Trial in Lobar ICH (STICH) study no benefit was found from the initial operative handler in Lobar ICH patients. Many clinical and radiological factors that affect outcomes of patients. Methods: The design of this study was a cross-sectional study. Clinical and radiological factors were analyzed by chi-square test and Kruskal-Wallis test. Then significant results were sought Relative RiskResults: This research was conducted from January 2017 to September 2018 starting from sampling to processing data. Sampling was carried out at the medical record center of Dr. Hospital. Soetomo Surabaya. Data collection is done by using secondary data in the form of patient medical records. All of the collected intracerebral hemorrhage patients were 302 and the total patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included in the study as the study subjects. Patients who met the criteria obtained 247 research subjects. Conclusion: There are several factors that influence the outcome of ICH stroke patients. Radiological factors and clinical factors both have an impact on outcomes. Further research is needed to find out which factors can be a diagnosis for choosing treatments that provide better outcomes. Statistically more than 1 variable is needed to determine an action that results in a more significant outcome of living patients. This shows that the choice of treatment for patients with different characteristics requires different treatments. Further analysis is needed to look for indications of the use of Operative or Conservative actions16.

Abstract

Introduction: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a group of neuropathic symptoms regarding to the compression of median nerve which passing through carpal tunnel. There has been a great number of prevalence of CTS in Indonesia, which leads to decreasing quality of life, lack of work productivity, and increasing health cost. Analgesic treatments have been drug of choice for carpal tunnel syndrome for years. However, the effectiveness of the drug and the risk of adverse effect of drugs have always been an issue for analgesic use. An observational study on profile of analgesic drugs administration for carpal tunnel syndrome patients in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital SurabayaMethod: A descriptive observational retrospective study has been conducted to observe the profile of analgesic drugs administration, including type and dosage of drugs, classification of drugs, drugs administration route, early and advanced type of analgesics, and duration of analgesic administration. Sociodemographic data and clinical characteristics (main symptoms) of carpal tunnel syndrome patients are also included in this study. Results: Out of 202 subjects of this study, most patients are women (84,16%), the group age of 50-59 to years old, and the most frequent job is household wife (43,56%). The most common analgesic drugs used for carpal tunnel syndrome patients is 50 mg sodium diclofenac for 78 patients (38.61%). All of those subjects are administered with oral analgesic (100%). 185 patients (91.59%) are administered with analgesic combinations. The duration of analgesic usage are 7 days as an early analgesic in 82 patients (40.59%).Conclusion: CTS is a syndrome due to median nerve compression of the hand, Women, household wife, and age of 50-59 years old are found to be vulnerable to this syndrome. Analgesic drugs mostly used is 50 mg natrium diclofenac, orally, combined, with the period of 7 days for early medication
