Abstract

Manpower is an element that is dealing directly with the various consequences of industrial activities undertaken. Unqualified physical work environment such as noise that has exceeded the NAV is one of the examples faced by the workforce in the workplace. One of the activities that produce noise is the activity in the fiberline department in the pulp making industry which is the pulp making area. This study aims to map the noise and its effect on employee fatigue in the pulp making industry in the fiberline department. Research stages include noise measurement, noise mapping, filling out questionnaires by employees about work fatigue, calculation of questionnaire results, determining the effect of noise and work fatigue with regression analysis, and correlation determination. The noise mapping results at 30 point measurements indicate that the bleaching and pulp engine border areas exceed the safe threshold noise. Regression analysis results show the higher the noise level, the higher the level of work fatigue in employees. The result of correlation analysis is known that the correlation is positive or strongly correlated which shows that the effect of noise on fatigue is very strong. The noise mapping results can be known which area exceeds the noise threshold, so the company can anticipate the negative impact, as well as the strong relationship between noise and work fatigue.

Abstract

Generally, furniture industry apply make to order in production systems and job shob (batch) in flow production. To produce a number of products with a uniform design of the required tools in the form of jig. Problems occurred at one of the furniture industry is the high sets up time due completion of the jig for use. Damaged Jigs, no precision, and unavailable jigs become the main reason for set up time be longer. The impact of time disrupted production and production targets are not reached. These problems can be overcome with management tools so that the tool/jig is ready for use in times of need. Using the tool management long setup time can be reduced because equipment is not ready for use and storage techniques by replacing the jig into removing the clamp handle can minimize the need of storage space. The settings storage location having regard to the level of usage can accelerate the process of supply to jig machining settings that the setup of jig include storage layout using the principles of popularity, making the procedure management of the jig in the room. The results obtained that with tool management setup time can be reduced to 61.17%.

Abstract

National Defence Agency is a Non-Ministerial Government Institution is which under and responsible to President and headed by a Chief. Land Agency produces products that prioritize on quality and legacy of law. Human resources have a major role in every company's activities. Although supported by facilities and infrastructure and excessive resources, but without the support of reliable resources, activities in an agency / company will not be resolved properly. Workload is a situation where workers are faced with tasks that must be completed at a certain time. The Problems in this research is the amount of workload for the employees both mentally and physically is too much that making mistakes and fatigue in working. The study aims to redesign the system in overcoming the workload experienced by the giving survey to the workers at the Land Agency at Langsa City.The method used is workload objectively by measuring the mental workload through the pulse, the questionnaire to know the amount of workload that affects work stress. The result of the research showed that the increase of pulse before working to the pulse after work, the average increase of the pulse of 47,9 beats / minute. Kasdiovasculer expense (% CVL) employees claimed to require repair work system with the highest CVL% is worth 55.24 beats / minute. The overrated of workload can cause work stress with the results obtained 0.9000> 0.549 the employees have stress when the workload is excessively.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health is the primary means of prevention of occupational accidents, disabilities and deaths so that the consequences of occupational accidents from potential hazards can be prevented. Companies need to develop risk management based on hazard identification and risk assessment compiled in occupational safety and health programs. Occupational health and safety risk management is an effort of hazard management which potentially pose a risk to safety and health to prevent unwanted accident. The data collected in this research is primary data and secondary data. Primary data obtained through direct observation on the floor processing RSS (Ribbed Smoke Sheet) at PT. PQR is useful to observe the potential hazards of work contained in the work area. While the secondary data taken in this study is historical data. The result of determining the risk value for each hazard source contained in PT. PQR is classified by rankings marked with the code E (extreme risk), H (high risk), M (moderate risk), and L (low risk). This is obtained by comparing the severity and probability values of each process / activity. Of the 28 activities, there are 7 activities included in the category of high risk. Process / activity that belonged to high risk is necessary to control to minimize or even eliminate the existing risks. control measures that can be performed on a high risk process / activity is to use a complete Personal Protective Equipment (APD), MSDS, using warning signs, using ladders in sheet sheets, with ergonomic work posture.Factors causing potential work hazards are workers who perform activities of inadvertent, high temperatures, and negligence of workers in using PPE. These control measures are expected to reduce and even eliminate the risk of the process / activity classified as high risk so that the number of workplace accidents can be reduced.

Abstract

The increasingly globalized changes in the modern economy have grown rapidly in all areas of life such as industry, services, property, mining, transportation and others. But behind the progress there is a price to be paid by the people of Indonesia is the negative impact caused one of them is a disaster such as accidents, pollution and occupational diseases that resulted in thousands of people injured every year. This condition is caused by the lack of concern about safety and health (K3) in the community. Health and Safety Management System (SMK3) is regulated in Government Regulation No. 50 of 2012 on Guidelines for Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health Management System. HSE Management System is part of the overall corporate management system required for the development, implementation, achievement, assessment and maintenance of OSH obligations, in the context of risk control related to work activities for the creation of safe, efficient and productive workplaces.This research was conducted at a company that produce animal feed in Medan City. The company is building a health and safety management system in the company.The result of research on the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health Management in animal feed companies that the implementation of SMK3 in the company has followed the clauses required in PP No.50 of 2012. This is shown by the small gap between Government Regulation No.50 of 2012 with the application in company.

Abstract

In realizing professional, effective, and efficient work, as well as improvement of work system, the company requires Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). SOP is a guide or reference to perform job tasks in accordance with the function and also a tool of performance appraisal company based on technical, administrative, and procedural indicators in accordance with work procedures and work system in the work unit concerned. Problems that occurred at PT. XYZ is the absence of standardization and documentation of work standards for warehousing activities resulting in non-standard work quality. The purpose of this research is to arrange Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) based on work elements in each warehousing activities in warehouse of PT. XYZ. The result of the research is the preparation of SOP for the acceptance of coffee beans, the storage of coffee beans, the delivery of coffee beans to the production, and the delivery of coffee to the consumers.

Abstract

Workers involving in a manual task (e.g. lifting, pushing, pulling, etc.) are subject to a musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) risk. The risk is even worse should the workers are not working in a good body posture while facilities and working environment are not ergonomically designed. Thus, it becomes significant for the workers to have a normal body posture while performing tasks. In addition, they also should be equipped with facilities and working environments that are ergonomically designed. CV. XYZ is a garment industry which produces apparels and other clothes. CV. XYZ has several work stations, and one of them is a film-making (screen printing) station. There are 20 work elements in this station, where all of them are a manual task. This research aims to investigate and evaluate over working condition, facilities and working environment at film-making station which later will be quantified into MSDs risk level. For this purpose, this research will employ Rapid Entire Body Analysis (REBA) to measure MSDs risk of the worker in this station. From this evaluation, it will suggest a creation of ergonomic aid tools which aims to reduce the risk of MSDs level. Those aid tools are a desk, a chair and a lorry that are designed by considering body posture and anthropometry principles. A simulation analyisis will be performed by using a mannequin pro software so that the comparison of the MSDs risk level prior and after the improvement can be obtained. Research finding shows that after implementing the suggested solution, 15 out of 20 work elements show a reduction of REBA score, and lowering the risk of MSDs.

Abstract

Untuk mengembangkan suatu produk, dalam hal ini tempat alat tulis kantor, diperlukan suatu metode agar pengembangan dapat diketahui dengan baik, pada penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode Quality Function Deployment (QFD), dimana pengertiannya adalah suatu metode yang mencakup untuk mengetahui kebutuhan apa yang diperlukan konsumen pada suatu produk, dan kebutuhan tersebut haruslah diintegrasikan pada spesifikasi-spesifikasi produk yang dikembangkan. Hasil pendekatan dengan metode QFD menunjukan bahwa kinerja karakteristik teknik dengan nilai tertinggi adalah karakteristik teknik kepadatan cetakan pasir, kadar aluminium, kecepatan putaran mesin gerinda, ketelitian penggerindaan dan jarak semprot pilox dengan masing-masing nilai derajat kepentingan sebesar 15%, sedangkan dari sepuluh atribut kebutuhan konsumen yang memperoleh nilai relative weight tertinggi adalah variabel jumlah ruang pada alat tulis kantor dengan nilai relative weight 33,63%.

Abstract

Alternative energy is a term that refers to all usable energy that aims to replace conventional fuels without any unintended consequences. In the context of this research, alternative energy is meant as renewable energy. Renewable energy is energy generated from natural sources, such as sunlight, wind, rain, tidal currents, and geothermal, which are renewable or can reappear naturally after its utilization. Many methods, procedures and techniques are adopted by the customer satisfaction as enhanced by the design of An Alternative Energy Utilization. This study seeks an assessment of user satisfaction, which in this case is the community, to combine Quality Function Deployment and Kano's model as design techniques in product design and development by focusing on capturing and translating consumer desires into a product design. The calculation results show the most important characteristic to be immediately corrected is Technology sophistication and Production Cost with the highest cost estimate, the degree of importanceand difficulty level. From the planning matrix obtained the product attribute that is Generation Price and Durability become the priority of improvement because it has the biggest weight.

Abstract

Pengendalian kualitas produk yaitu suatu proses yang dibuat untuk menjaga supaya realisasi sesuai dengan yang direncanakan. PT. XYZ adalah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang pengolahan bijih plastik sebagai bahan baku utama untuk menjadi karung goni plastik yang digunakan untuk berbagai keperluan industri maupun infrastruktur. Dalam kegiatan produksinya, setiap bulannya terdapat persentase produk cacat sebesar 6,59% -9,67%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab kecacatan produk serta menganalisis hubungan antara cacat yang terjadi dengan kualitas produksi dan memberikan usulan perbaikan dengan menggunakan metode Six Sigma melalui tahap DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada beberapa jenis kecacatan pada produk karung goni plastik yang sering terjadi diantaranya adalah jahitan miring dan cetakan miring, yang disebabkan oleh komposisi bahan baku yang tidak sesuai, kelalaian operator, keandalan mesin dan metode kerja yang tidak sesuai. Berdasarkan hasil analisa regresi linier diperoleh hubungan yang kuat antara jumlah cacat dengan kualitas produksi masing-masing sebesar 39%, artinya cacat jahitan miring dan cacat cetakan miring memberikan kontribusi sebesar 39% terhadap kegagalan produk, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak disebutkan dalam penelitian ini.
