Abstract

This research is a classroom action research with the aim of increasing HOTS in data presentation material by applying the RME learning model. The subjects of this study were 28 fifth grade students at SDN Bayan No. 216 years 2018 / 2019. The research was carried out in two cycles of action. Data collection techniques used tests, observation and documentation with data analysis, source triangulation and content validity. The percentage of HOTS Ability conditions in class V students in classically in pre-action showed 32.24%, the first cycle in the first learning resulted in a percentage of 42.86%, the second learning was 57.14%. The research continued with the second cycle with the percentage of achievement in the first learning amounting to 78.57%, the second learning was 82.14%.

Abstract

Abtract. The aim of this research are (1) to improve the ability of energy sources by implementing CTL with diorama; and (2) to describe of implementing CTL with diorama on students of class IV SD Negeri Triyagan 02 Sukoharjo in 2018/2019. The design of this research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research were 28 students. The methods of data collection were documentary, observation, interview, and test. Those data were analyzed with two-ways (1) qualitative technique by using interactive model from Miles and Huberman; and (2) quantitative technique by using mean calculation in each cycle and categorization of the analytical ability based on normative referenced assessment. The result of this research showed there was an improvement mainly the ability of energy sources in second cycle. Pre-test, the classical completeness was only 10,7%. First cycle, the classical completeness had improved 46,42%. Second cycle, the classical completeness had significantly improved 82,14%. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that implementing Contextual Teaching and Learning Model with Diorama can improve the ability of energy sources on students of class IV SD Negeri Triyagan 02 Sukoharjo in 2018/2019.Keywords: Contextual Teaching and Learning Model, Diorama, The Ability of Energy Sources, Elementary School Students

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve mathematical word problems solving skills through the use of REACT strategy in IV grade students at SDN Soropadan No. 108 Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year. This study was a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consisted of 2 cycles and each cycle was held in two confluences. The subjects of this research were teacher and students in IV grade, which amounted to 37 students. Observation, interview, test, and documentation were used as the data collecting techniques. The data validity techniques were content validity and technical triangulation. The data analysis techniques were descriptive comparative, critical analysis, and interactive analysis model Miles & Huberman. The result of this research showed that the average score of mathematical word problems solving skills on pre-action was 36,04 with 2,7% of classical completeness. The average score of first cycle was 68,69 with 51,35% of classical completeness. The average score of second cycle was 85,54 with 83,78% of classical competeness. It concluded that the REACT strategy can improve mathematical word problems solving skills in IV grade students at SDN Soropadan No. 108 Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year.Keyword: mathematical word problems solving skills, REACT strategy.

Abstract

The objective of this research to improve students’ ability in finding main idea in a discourse text in fifth grade students’ of elementary school at SD Negeri Pelemrejo, Boyolali 2018/2019 academic year through Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R) Learning Model. The subjects in this research were a teacher and 17 students. This research was conducted in three cycles. The research data were collected using interview, observation, tests, and document analysis. The data validity was tested by data source triangulation techniques and methodological triangulation technique. The data obtained in this research consisted of quantitative data and qualitative data. The quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive comparative analysis techniques and the qualitative data were analyzed using interactvie models. The first cycle, classical completeness to 41,18%. In the second cycle improvement has increased with classical completeness of 70,59%. The improvement in the third cycle has increased again with classical completeness of 82,35%. Based on the findings as presented above, it can be concluded that the students’ ability in finding main idea in discourse text in fifth grade students’ of elementary school at SD Pelemrejo 2018/2019 academic year can be improved through SQ3R learning models.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve student motivation by implementation of Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model on multiplication and division learning. The type of this research is class action research that consist of 3 cycles. The subject of this research is 32 students of 2nd grade of SDN Prawit I No.69. Data collection techniques are conducted by questioner, observation, and interview. Data analysis technique that used  is interactive analysis that consist of data collection, data reduction, data display, and verification. To determine the result of student learning motivation, this research used source and method triangulation. The result of this research shows that multiplication and division learning motivation of the students are increase. First cycle result is classical pass percentage reach 37.5%, it increase at second cycle become 68.75%, and in the last cycle reach 84.38%. Based on the data analysis result, the conclusion of this research is Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model can improve multiplication and division learning motivation of 2nd grade student of SDN Prawit I No.69 in the academic year of 2017/2018. Implication of Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model was conducted by five steps. Abstract

Abstract. The objective of this research are improve problem solving skills mathematic in stories matter of plane geometry by applyying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This research in Classroom Action Research with three cycles. The subject of this research were students of III class at SD N 1 Kedaleman Wetan Kebumen in the 2018/2019 academic year, totalling 26 students. The research uses data collection techniques were interview, observations, tests, and documentation. The data analysis in this research are source trangulation, technique triangulation, and content validity. Result of thorough were in the intitial conditions of problem solving skills of III class students showed 15,38% clasically. The first cycle began with the first learning resulting in a percentage of 26,93% in classial, the second learning was 42,31% in classical. The second cycle began with the first learning resulting in a percentage of 53,85% in classical, the second learning was 61,54% in classical. The study continued with third cycle with the percentage of  achivement at the first learning amounting 76,92% in classical, and the second learning was 88,46% in classical terms.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of research design was to improve the understanding about concepts the struggle to defend Indonesia's independence by applying Group Invetigation models. Two cycles was used in this research design amount teacher and 5th grade of primary school of SD N Pulisen Boyolali conduct of 35 students as the subject research. The data collecting techniques were test, observation, interview, and documentation. And the analyze data used interactive technique. The average score of class before action (pre-cycle) is 31, in cycle 1 the average score increase become improves 64,8, and in cycle 2 increase 75,1. The conclusion was drawn that applying GI model can work up the understanding about concepts the struggle to defend Indonesia's independence in 5th grade of primary school of SD N Pulisen Boyolali 2018/2019.Keywords: Group Investigation, understanding about concepts, the struggle to defend Indonesia's independence, Elementary School.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the ability of profile teachers from elementary schools. The subjects were 14 teachers taken from all the teachers in Elementary Laboratory School of Benguet State University in Philippines. This was a mix methode of qualitative and quantitative research. The instrument used had 15 items with HOT Levels that were comprised of C4 (Analyze) represented in 5 items, C5 (Evaluate) referring to 5 items, and C6 (Create) referring to 5 items. The result of teacher’s ability to analyze is showed by two category, there are: 1) the category based   the subject of teachers, and 2) the category based on the item object questions. The level that could be analyzed by the teachers with the highest percentage of 93,33%. Meanwhile, the lowest percentage that could be analyzed by teachers is 33,33%. While the category based on the object items in C4 level is 77,51%, in C5 level is 58,94%, and in C6 level is 67,41%. Based on the result, it could be concluded that in analyzing HOT questions the ELS teachers could analyze the questions correctly, the ELS’s teachers were classified in the good category in analyzing the HOT science questions.Keywords: HOT (Higher Order Thinking), analyze questions, teachers, and elementary laboratory school

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this study was to improve the ability to analyze the properties of light using the Predict Observe Explain learning model in fifth grade students of Totosari Elementary School No.102 Surakarta 2018/2019. This research was performed as classroom action research (CAR) were carried in two cycles. The research subjects were teacher and  fifth grade students of Totosari Elementary School No.102 Surakarta, totaling 32 students. Observation, interviews, documentation, and tests were used as data collection techniques. The data validity used were triangulation source and technical triangulation. The data were analyze by an interactive analysis model. The results of this classroom action research show that the class average score in the pre-action is 45.20 with the class achievement percentage of 0%. In the first cycle, the average score of the class increased up to 65.41 with percentage of class achievement of 31.25%. In the second cycle, the average score of the class increased up to 81.35 with percentage of class achievement of 84.38%. The conclusion of this study showed that through the Predict Observe Explain (POE) learning model can improve the ability to analyze the properties of light in fifth grade students of Totosari Elementary School No.102 Surakarta 2018/2019.Keyword: Analysis Ability, Properties of Light, Predict Observe Explain (POE)

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are essential skills for 21st-century life. Creative thinking skills are closely related to the ability to produce creative ideas to compete globally. The purpose of this research was to improve creative thinking skills using the Creative Entrepreneurship Learning Model-Based Discovery Skills (CEL-BaDiS). This type of research is classroom action research with the implementation of three cycles and each cycle consists of two meetings. Each consist of four steps there were planning, action, observation and reflection cycles. The data was collected by using several techniques such as observation, interview, documentation and creative thinking test. The interactive model was used to analyze the data. The assessment of research showed that both students' creative thinking and teacher's performance increased continuously. Based on the results, it can be concluded that trough double lo-problem solving models based on experiment enhancing the student's creative thinking skills of heat and transfer for grade IV students.
