Abstract

Classical theology is a legacy from past theologies in the span of Islamic history and has apologetic characteristics (long debates on the area of mortal sin, eschatology, heaven and hell and the eternity of the Qur'an) and romantic remembers and longs for the greatness and excellence of past theologians without filling and preparing for global competition to be faced, while the style of modern theological thinking is to prioritize substance rather than form, and function Islamic values to overcome concrete community problems such as ignorance, poverty, unemployment, and social backwardness and develop science and science within the framework of prosperity and the peace of mankind on this earth. The two theological styles that exist in society make the color of the paradigm of Islamic theology must be able to be dialecticized by adherents of more moderate theology, so that abandoning classical theology does not mean leaving totality but changing the construct of thinking towards the substance of ijtihad in accordance with messages of humanist values.

Abstract

Very important in humans. Science is a way of thinking of humans and is used to separate Science helps humans to orient themselves in the world and solve various life problems. Problems that make them do not know how to develop themselves. Therefore, knowledge is humans from other creatures. process of human thinking and is used as a barrier between humans and other living things. In the beginning, everything that humans did was because human nature in their life has a noble purpose in life that is higher than mere existence. That's why humans always try to develop science. The philosophy of science can be used as a perspective in the idea of Islamization of science because at this time what has developed lately is one branch of philosophy that aims to realize the relationship between science and philosophy. By making the Philosophy of Science as a perspective, benchmark, or establishment in order to analyze and develop the framework of Islamic science, using the approaches and methods that exist in philosophy. Only used for the Islamization of knowledge.

Abstract

Generation is marked by the increasing use of digital media and technology.  With the progress of the development of the global world has caused a change in perspective.  The level of perspective of the millennial generation is more progressive about religion.  This is developing in line with advances in technology for easy access to information.  The results of the study show 1) The diversity of adolescents is seen from five elements.  a) The subject's faith admits that he believes in the existence of Allah, Allah as his Lord and protector.  God who gives health and sustenance.  b) Knowledge and understanding of religious teachings, the subject knows about Islam from the pillars of Islam.  c) Ritual worship, all subjects have performed ritual worship, namely prayer, fasting, zakat.  d) The subject's religious experience has felt his religious experience such as feeling very happy to pray, pray midnight, dhuha and make fortune always smooth.  e) Consequences of faith, subjects have solidarity among friends in the form of helping each other, being polite to older people, working together, and helping each other among friends is a form of worship that they consider important in life.  2) The origin of diversity in the millennial generation, the subject gains knowledge of the basics of different religions.  Most get religious knowledge from their parents, and get religious education from certain institutions.  In the millennial era, it is not only family, educational institutions, friendship circles, and organizations that are factors that influence the process of religious learning for young Muslims.  Social media actually contributes to student religious learning as a Go-Jek partner.  Because of current technological developments, those who used to take part in studies by coming to mosques in this millennial era, students only watch studies via the internet or YouTube channel. After conducting research, this research focuses on the religious spirit and religious origins of adolescents in the Titi Kuning Village, Medan, Johor.  This study uses the theory of Starkan an Glock, namely diversity with five dimensions: ideological, ritualistic, intellectual, experiential and consequential.  This research method uses a type of qualitative research.  Data Collection Techniques using Interview Methods or interviews, observation, and documentation.  Miles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis technique.

Abstract

Woman’s problems are still an interesting phenomenon to study. How is the discrimination in the distribution of roles and positions between men who are seen as more valuable than women. This study aims to present information about women in the novel Cantik Itu Luka by Eka Kurniawan using the Schleiermacher hermeneutic approach. This study uses a qualitative research method with a review of Schleiermacher’s hermeneutic, namely by analyzing grammatical and psychological interpretatons. The data used in this study is a type of library (library research) by reading and researching topics that are relevant to this research. The finding from this study are that women are interpreted as human beings from a biological and physical perspective, women cannot choose their own lives.the role of women in the domestic sphere is to take care of their children properly and with courtesy. Even in earning a living, women would only works as concubines and prostituses. Not infrequenly when a married women, apart from taking care of her children, there are several women who have to participate in earning a living to stabilize the economy. Women in the novel will always be second class humans where they will receive inappropriate treatment, such as sex harassment and rape.

Abstract

In the context of global society and the social changes that occur in the current era of globalization, ethical challenges such as discrimination, promiscuity, hedonism and other forms of moral crisis arise. One of the factors that causes this behavior is a lack of understanding of the individual's creed or religious beliefs. The presence of Islamic beliefs and moral values in the midst of modern life is considered capable of alleviating various forms of moral crises that occur. Therefore, attention to faith, ethics and moral issues becomes increasingly important to study. This article aims to reveal the relationship between faith, ethics and moral values in Islamic teachings. The method used is literature study or literature review by collecting and observing theories, data and information from various trusted written sources. The results of this research reveal that there is a significant relationship between religious beliefs and Islamic moral values. These relationships will mutually influence each other and will have implications for individual behavior in life.Keywords: Creed, Ethics, Religious Beliefs, Moral Values, and Islam.

Abstract

This article is of the view that the presence of philosophy in cyberspace, especially YouTube, has eliminated the "heavy side" of philosophy. Philosophy is constructed in an entertainment style that is easy to watch, even though it cannot necessarily be understood and interpreted as it should be. The emergence of philosophy on YouTube has succeeded in establishing the authority of philosophers for the individuals who popularized it. Research data was explored from Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar's YouTube channel. To facilitate research, the research question was asked about the process of "becoming a philosopher" in the world of YouTube. Research findings suggest that the process of becoming a Muslim philosopher on YouTube is formed through the number of followers and consistency in discussing philosophy. Then, authority is strengthened by social attributes, such as educational background, social status and knowledge of Islamic philosophy. Lastly, the authority of Muslim philosophers formed through YouTube makes philosophy not express its true form because it exists as entertainment which is contradictory to the orthodoxy of Islamic philosophy.Keywords: Muslim Philosopher, Youtube, Authority and Husein Ja'far.

Abstract

This research uses a qualitative approach because it seeks to provide a description of the influence of social layers and age in shifting and applying customary rules such as manners and rituals to the Javanese community in Mangga Dua Village. While this type of research is philosophical sociology because the object under study is the community group with the continuity of interaction in it, the existence of an applicable value system, and especially the deroutine of the old value system and social reproducibility through the recurrence of social practices. The study revealed that; 1) the ethical values of manners in the Javanese family environment consist of, namely; a) tolerance, (ethics of understanding), b) prioritizing the process of developing self-maturity, c) attitudes and choices are determined by the expectations of society, d) good and bad are relative, e) being subtle, f) being prudent. As for the ethics of manners, the most important thing is to be selfless which means accepting his own place, and fulfilling obligations which means doing what each human being should do according to his place in the cosmos. 2) the forms of shifting etiquette ethics in the Javanese family environment of Mangga Dua Village, Tanjung Beringin District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, are as follows; a) manners in communication: people have rarely used Javanese in interactions between individuals in their daily lives. In addition, in the family environment, communication between parents and children is dialogue or discussion, compared to the past which is listening and obedient. b) manners in social interactions: in this case there are still old values that continue to be maintained to this day are still in force, although the rules in this manners are not as strict as in the past. c) dressing: the Javanese people in Mangga Dua village only wear kebaya clothes during certain occasions.Keywords: Shift, Manners, Ritual.

Abstract

Intellectual pluralism which refers to a variety of views and approaches in understanding Islamic teachings, which allows different interpretations of certain aspects of Islamic beliefs and philosophy which focuses on the concepts of "time" and "eternity" which over time have decreased in the Islamic philosophical tradition includes interpretations of philosophers and theologians from various schools of Islamic thought by identifying differences and similarities in the views of figures such as al- Kindi, al- Farabi, Ibn Sina (Avicenna), and al- Ghazali, who represent interpretations in understanding the relationship between time and eternity in the context of Islamic metaphysics. Pluralism as part of the tradition of Islamic thought links between Islamic metaphysical concepts in a wider cultural, social and historical context. The concepts of "time and eternity" in the understanding of the relationship between finite universes refer to the time dimension of temporality and eternity which posits the existence of matter and divine reality. Time is an aspect related to changes and events in a finite universe, the universe has a beginning and an end in a sense. Time is also related to dimensions where a dimension is not complete if there is no time. The concept of eternity refers to a divine dimension or eternity that exists beyond the finite time frame of the universe. In Islamic thought, God is considered as an eternal entity that is not limited by time. This concept reflects the eternal and infinite nature of God in the Islamic theological tradition. Relationships between dimensions can create a finite temporal dimension of the universe and an eternal dimension of eternity. In this view, the universe is in a time frame while God as the creator of the universe exists outside the time dimension. This relationship can be interpreted as the relationship between the finite and the infinite, between the temporary and the eternal. Through this relationship it provides a basis for explaining how material reality and divine existence interact in different ways. This raises questions about the origin and the purpose of the universe as well as the role of humans in this scheme of relations. Overall, the concept of "time and eternity in the understanding of the relationship between finite universes reflects an attempt to cover up the complexity of the relationship between time, temporality and eternity in the context of Islamic thought. Interpretation and understanding of these concepts can vary, and philosophical and theological thinking plays a role in develop a deeper understanding of the relationship with the universe.

Abstract

This paper aims to find out: (1) What is the role of MWC NU in broadcasting Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar to Muslim Youth in Kotapinang District (2) What are the factors and obstacles of MWC NU in broadcasting Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar to Muslim Youth in Kotapinang District (3) ) What is the ethics of MWC NU in broadcasting Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar to Muslim Youth in Kotapinang District. The type of research conducted is field research with qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach to religion. This data collection method uses observation, interviews, and documentation. The benefits of this research can provide and increase knowledge about amar Ma’ruf Nahi munkar. The results show that the role of MWC NU in broadcasting amar ma’ruf nahi munkar for youth has gone well with the strategy developed by MWC NU Kotapinang District. Muslim youth and what are the ethics in broadcasting it. In addition, it is necessary for all of us to contribute, not just the government, educational institutions or community organizations to be more active in developing Islamic teachings from all corners of life, especially amar ma’ruf nahi munkar so that Islamic values can characterize Muslim youth so that amar ma’ruf nahi munkar will be carried out not only as a term but will become a habit.Keywords: Nahdlatul Ulama, Amar Ma’ruf Nahi Munkar, Youth.

Abstract

Discourses related to the history of classical Islamic figures, especially the study of the construction of scientific fields and their thoughts, are very complex. This is motivated by the large scientific networks owned by classical Islamic figures who have an influence on the major themes in their work. Al-Farabi was one of the Islamic scientists and philosophers who was very productive in giving birth to various scientific disciplines. So that from various scholars in the following periods various opinions and debates emerged regarding differences in understanding regarding studies, especially those that focus on biographies and works. Al-Farabi experienced a period of growth in unfavorable socio-political conditions, namely living during the second period of the reign of the Abbasids. However, this did not really affect the development of Al-Farabi's knowledge. In his teens he had mastered grammar, literature and religious sciences (fiqh, tafsir, hadith science, basic arithmetic and knowledge of the Koran). The exact chronology of Al-Farabi's work is difficult to determine. He wrote treatises devoted to the explanations of Plato and Aristotle. Al-Farabi also developed his own philosophical thought that united metaphysical and cosmological views with psychology and political philosophy. The existence of Al-Farabi's thoughts is proven by the influence of his thoughts on science and philosophy for several centuries and is widely considered to be the second teacher after Aristotle in the knowledge of his time. Al-Farabi contributed a lot in the field of philosophy and several other scientific disciplines, such as logic, psychology, metaphysics, politics and several other scientific disciplines.Keywords: Socio-Political Conditions, Existence of Thought, Scientific Contributions.
