Abstract

This research is a classroom action research. The objectives of this research are: (1) to describe student's learning activity in project-based learning; (2) to describe the improvement of student learning activity of mathematics education program of St. Thomas University through the application of project-based learning model; (3) to analyze student project tasks in project-based learning. The results of this study indicate that student learning activity in cycle 1 is 41.66% active students in visual activities, 25% active students in oral activities, 47.22% active students in writing activities, 13.89% active students in mental activities. Students activity in cycle 2 is 75% active students in visual activities, 63.89% active students in oral activities, 75% active students in writing activities, 52.78% active students in mental activities. The test validity test consisted of 18 tests tested in 18 schools with a total of 90 questions in which each test consisted of 4 questions, 5 questions and 6 questions. Validity results obtained 69 problems (76.67%) valid and as many as 21 problems (23.33%) is invalid. The results of the test reliability obtained 12 reliable tests with high reliability category as many as 5 tests (27.78%) and medium relative category as many as 7 tests (38.89%) and there are 6 tests (33.33%) that are not reliable. The result of analysis of different test variables obtained 39 problem (43,33%) with bad category, 29 problem (32,22%) enough category, and 16 problem (17,78%) good category. The results of the analysis of the difficulty level of the test obtained that from 90 tested questions there are 42 easy questions, 45 problems medium and 3 difficult questions.

Abstract

Abstract. Production activity as a part of corporate organizational functions is responsible for the processing of raw materials into finished production that can be sold. Increased efficiency in production is one way that can be done by the company in order to always be able to meet consumer demand. UD.Putih Jaya is an enterprise engaged in the production of paving. In the production process the company has never made a measurement of the efficiency of the production process that has been done. Measurement efficiency of production processes in this study will use a measuring instrument in the form of method Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). DEA model used is Primal CCR model. Primary CCR is used to determine which UPK (Decision Maker Unit) is efficient and inefficient. From the calculation results obtained that UPK 1, UPK 2 and UPK 4 is an efficient UPK UPK 3 and UPK 5 into the category of inefficient UPK.Keywords: data envelopment analysis, production, efficiencyAbstrak. Aktivitas produksi sebagai suatu bagian dari fungsi organisasi perusahaan bertanggung jawab terhadap pengolahan bahan baku menjadi produksi jadi yang dapat dijual. Peningkatan efisiensi di bagian produksi merupakan salah satu cara yang bisa dilakukan oleh pihak perusahaan agar selalu dapat memenuhi permintaan konsumen. UD.Putih Jaya merupakan suatu usaha yang bergerak dibidang produksi pembuatan paving. Dalam proses produksinya perusahaan belum pernah melakukan pengukuran efisiensi dari proses produksi yang telah dilakukan. Pengukuran efisiensi proses produksi pada penelitian ini akan menggunakan suatu alat ukur berupa metode Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Model DEA yang digunakan adalah model CCR Primal. CCR primal digunakan untuk menentukan UPK (Unit Pembuat Keputusan) mana yang efisien dan tidak efisien. Dari hasil perhitungan didapatkan bahwa UPK 1, UPK 2 dan UPK 4 merupakan UPK yang efisien sedangkan UPK 3 dan UPK 5 masuk dalam kategori UPK yang tidak efisien.Kata Kunci: data envelopment analysis, produksi, efisiensi

Abstract

Abstract. The purposes of this study were to investigate: (1) Differences in mathematics conceptual understanding ability among students who are given a learning cooperative type Think-Talk-Write model with students who were given direct learning model. (2) To describe the active activity of student during learning cooperative type Think-Talk-Write. (3) To describe the accomplishing of student answers in learning cooperative type Think-Talk-Write and direct learning. This was a semi-experimental study. The population was first grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Medan. Then randomly selected two classes of six grade. The experimental class ware given learning cooperative type Think-Talk-Write model and control classes were subjected to direct teaching model. The instruments consisted of: (1) Mathematics conceptual understanding test, and (2) Observation sheet. Data analysis was performed by analysis of covariance (ANACOVA). The results showed that (1) There are differences in mathematics conceptual understanding among students who are given a model of learning cooperative type Think-Talk-Write with students who were direct instruction model. This is evident from the results ANACOVA to Fhitung = 37,457 is greater Ftabel 4,01. Constants of regression equations to model problem-based learning that is 27,027 greater than the direct learning model is 26,454. (2) The activity levels of active student has met the ideal percentage of time set. (3) the completing of students answers that are taught by learning cooperative type Think-Talk-Write model are better than students whorm are taught by using direct instruction model.Keywords: Think-Talk-Write, Mathematics Conceptual Understanding

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to determine the increase mathematical representation ability of students with cooperative learning base multiple intelligence. The lower mathematical representation ability and the difficulty in understanding trigonometry and also not facing multiple intelligences is the reason for this research. This research is a quasi experiment that compares two classes with different treatments, cooperative learning based on multiple intelligence and exspositori learning. Learning media in reasech is the RPP and LAS that is validated the expert team. The research instrument was also validated by an expert team and continued with validation, reliability, difficulty and differentiation tests. The analysis used is one-way ANOVA obtained by Fcount (4,342) Ftable (0,05) (4,026) Explained, H0 is accepted, and it can be concluded that the increased ability of mathematical representation in multiple intelligence-based cooperative learning rather than increasing mathematical representation ability in ordinary learning.Keywords: mathematical representation, cooperative learning, multiple intelligence

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to determine whether using the TPS learning model by using LKS can improve student learning outcomes in the material system linear equation two variable in class X Senior High Public School 2 of Pematangsiantar. The type of research used is classroom action research with 2 cycles. Subjects of class X-IPA 7. On the implementation of the first cycle of action, the result of the analysis of tests of students at the moderate (≥ 65) category in a classical manner were still not achived because only 52.78% of students were completed, with a grade average 65.00. After the implementation of the second cycle of action, the learning outcomes of students in the medium minimum category (≥ 65) have been achived classically, namely 86.11% with an average value 73.75. The increase in students’ mathematics learning outcomes from cycle I to cycle II was 21.11%. Based on the result of the above research it can be concluded that the application of the TPS learning model using LKS can improve student learning outcomes.Keywords: Laerning Outcomes, Think Pair Square (TPS), LKS

Abstract

Communication skills focus on the importance of speaking, writing, describing and explaining mathematical concepts. In achieving that success is by using cooperative learning model. This model is an effective teaching strategy in improving student achievement and socialization while contributed to their changing of attitudes and perceptions of the importance of learning and cooperation, including for their understanding of their peers from different ethnic backgrounds. This research was conducted at SD IT Faza Azkia Kelurahan Hutaraja, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatera Province. This research uses quasi experimental research method. This study aims to describe how to improve students 'mathematical communication skills before and after using cooperative learning model, and also to know the effectiveness of using cooperative learning model in improving students' mathematical communication ability. Based on the results of the study concluded there is an increase in the mathematical communication skills of students before and after using cooperative learning model. And the cooperative learning model is effective for teaching count number operations. This is shown by: the effectiveness of student learning activities, the ability of teachers in managing learning is effective, students 'responses to learning is positive and mastery of students' mathematical communication skills reach 100%.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw, meliputi: (1) kadar aktivitas aktif siswa selama proses pembelajaran, (2) tingkat kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran, (3) respon siswa terhadap komponen dan proses pembelajaran, (4) pencapaian tujuan belajar siswa dilihat dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah baik secara individu maupun klasikal. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI-IPA6 SMAN 7 Medan sebanyak 40 orang dan objek penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat efektivitas proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, lembar observasi kemampuan guru, angket respons siswa serta tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Perangkat pembelajaran yang digunakan sudah memenuhi tingkat kevalidan, demikian pula untuk tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan koefisien realibilitas untuk pretes sebesar 0,867 dan postes sebesar 0,911. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh diketahui bahwa penggunaan bahan ajar berbasis kooperatif jigsaw telah dapat memenuhi efektivitas proses pembelajaran, dimana: (1) kadar aktivitas siswa telah memenuhi batas toleransi waktu ideal dengan pemanfaatan LAS yang baik dalam pembelajaran, (2) nilai kemampuan guru (NKG) pada ujicoba sebesar 3,20, termasuk kategori cukup baik. (3) respons siswa terhadap bahan ajar dan proses pembelajaran sudah positif, (4) persentase ketuntasan belajar pada saat postes telah mencapai batas ketuntasan minimal, yaitu 77,5% siswa mendapat nilai lebih dari 2,66 (B-). Kata KunciBahan Ajar, model kooperatif, jigsaw, dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah.

Abstract

Abstract. This research is based on the students' mathematical communication ability at SMP Negeri 1 Pasir Penyu which is still low. To overcome the problem is applied learning model Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR). This study aims to determine the ability of students' mathematical communication using the learning model of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR). This research type is quasi experiment research. The research design used was randomized subjects posttest only control group design. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. After the sample was taken randomly, the students selected VIII.6 class as experimental class and students of class VIII.5 as the control class. The instrument in this research is a test of students' mathematical communication skill. The data analysis technique used Independent Samples T-Test (t-test) test. Based on hypothesis test results obtained that tcount = 5,065 ttable = 2.002 with (df = 60) and a real level of 5%. Reject H0 if thitung value is ttable. So it can be concluded that the mathematical communication skills of students using the learning model of Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) is better than the students' mathematical communication skills using conventional learning model. Keywords: Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR), mathematical communication.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine students' mathematical communication skills using the Circuit Learning learning model. This research is a Quasi Experiment study with the design of the Randomized Subjects Posstest Only Control Group Design. The study population was all students of class X SMA N 1 Pasir Penyu. The sampling technique uses random sampling. The instrument used was a mathematical communication ability test in the form of a description. Data were analyzed statistically by the Independent Samples T-Test. Based on the results of the t test, tcount in the rejection area of H0 can be concluded that the mathematical communication skills of students taught with the circuit learning learning model are better than conventional learning.Keywords: Mathematical Communication, Circuit Learning.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to find out: (1) Is the increase in mathematical critical thinking abilities of students given the guided discovery method assisted by Geogebra software higher than students who were given guided discovery method learning without Geogebra software, (2) Are their interactions between learning with students 'initial mathematical abilities towards improving students' critical thinking skills. This research is a quasi-experimental study. The population of this study is that all classes in the fourth-semester mathematics education study program are approximately 120 people. Randomly, two classes were chosen from four classes. The experimental class was treated with Geogebra assisted guided discovery methods and the control class was treated with a guided discovery method without the help of Geogebra. Data analysis was performed by analysis of two-way variance (ANAVA). The results showed (1) Improvement of mathematical critical thinking skills of groups of students who obtained guided discovery method learning using GeoGebra software was higher than the group of students who received learning through guided discovery methods without GeoGebra software. (2) There is no interaction between the learning model and the initial ability of students in improving students' critical thinking skills in mathematics.Keywords: Critical Thinking Ability, Guided Discovery Method, Geogebra
