Abstract

Annular ring antenna concept has been utilized in many applications. This paper presents the adoption of annular ring concept on a dual-band microstrip antenna. The antenna is designed to operate at 1.9 GHz and 2.1 GHz operating frequencies. The objective of this research is to observe the method potential of combining two patches operate at different frequencies as a single dual-band antenna. While the purpose of the annular concept is to enhance the bandwidth of an antenna, analysis from this work shows that for a dual-band antenna with operating frequencies close one to the other, the obtained bandwidths are relatively narrow, down to of about 5%. Nevertheless, the antenna is capable to operate at both designated frequencies with good return losses down to -24.40dB.

Abstract

Digital broadband communications require a fast, functional and efficient system. In a digital communication system, a long sequence of bits '0' or '1' will inherits the loss of bit synchronization, and hence it can cause the false detection on the receiver. To avoid this, long sequence of bits will be randomized first so that long sequence of bits '0' or '1' can be removed. This randomization process is called scrambling and the circuit that works for the process is a scrambler. In the receiver there is a descrambler that serves to return the bits to their original information. This paper presents a design of scrambler and descrambler using a combination of Linear Feedback Shift Register (LFSR) with 15 registers, XOR logic gates, and Pseudo Random Binary Sequence (PRBS) generator structure with polynomial 1 + x14 + x15. One of the two main parts of LFSR is the shift register while the other is the feedback. In LFSR, the bits contained within the selected position in the shift register will be combined in a function and the result will be put back into this register's input bit. Feedback also makes the system more stable and no error occurrence. Then special tap is taken from a certain point in XOR and returned as a feedback register. The system is implemented on FPGA board Altera De0-Nano EP4CE22F17C6 Cyclone IV E. Resource memory required <1% of available memory. Bit rate that can be achieved with clock speed 50MHz is 335570.47 bps.

Abstract

Farmers empowerment is an effort to improve farmers' ability to conduct better farming through education and training, counseling and mentoring, development of Agricultural products and marketing system, consolidation and guarantee agricultural land area, ease of access of science, technology and information, and institutional strengthening. Support Information Technology is not only making it easier regarding resources but become media marketing agricultural products for farmers in Indonesia. Currently, the chain of commerce for the sale of agricultural products is still very long. That causes the price of agricultural products is quite high. However, when the farmers sell the product, the hat price is still relatively low. To reduce the chain of commerce is needed a system that can provide information as well as a marketing place for agricultural products and can also use for direct purchase by consumers. The system that can meet those needs is e-commerce that built Marketplace based. Based on the findings of e-Marketer, the business to consumer (B2C) e-commerce market in Indonesia has the largest growth record in the Asia Pacific through 2017. There is potential to improve the welfare of farmers in Indonesia using information technology for marketing as well as direct transactions with consumers. In this paper will be proposed Android Application for Marketplace Agricultural Product Base Android. This Application will development by Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Prototype method with Java and XML programming languages and database management will be used MySQL. This Application will provide information on agricultural products, facilitate farmers to market their agricultural products, and facilitate farmers to conduct direct transactions with consumers.

Abstract

Computer technology has been used to support the learning process at the university. Learning process, generally involved students and teachers in order to learn about materials on subject courses and also evaluate student competencies regularly. Teachers can evaluate student competencies or knowledge by e-assessment. E-assessment is one of the domains of e-learning which involves the use computer in assessment, includes: setting, delivery, marking and reporting of assessments. The Major benefit of the e - assessment system is its flexibility in term of global access and devices used to access. When developing an e-assessment system, we have two focuses on multi-dimensional approach, such as user friendly and student centric nature. Because of its complexity, software architecture need to define so software developer will develop software properly. By designing software architecture, view of the system that includes the system components, the behavior of those components, and the ways the components interact could clearly define. Architecture Description Language (ADL) has been used to describe software, because it provides a concrete syntax and formal framework for characterizing architectures. As the result, the design of e-assessment system architecture can meet the needs of attribute quality. The use of notation to explain ADL is able to provide a complete description than simply explaining ADL is using text. Furthermore, the e-assessment system architecture design is expected to be used as a reference for software development in establishing an e-assessment system.

Abstract

The limited radio frequency spectrum that can be used for transmission leads to bandwidth and power efficiency being a key requirement in the development of wireless access technology from 3G to 5G today. Data communication technology also requires this as mentioned on high speed network standards such as DSL, WLAN and WMAN with its products ADSL, WiFi and Wimax. In the last few decades we have seen the evolution of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) modulation technique used in the technologies mentioned earlier to this day. This technique is regarded as a standard technology for broadband wireless access technology. In hardware implementation, the most preferred by many researchers is the Field Programmable Gate Array chip, as it can be reconfigured. The OFDM technique can be easily implemented because it uses Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithms that are coding and programming capable of reducing the computational time of Discrete Fourier Transform. This paper discusses the implementation of the memory-based 1024-point IFFT / FFT for BWA communications. The design is focused on synthesizing and implementing the system block FFT 1024-point radix-4 using Decimation in Frequency (DIF) method. Implementation for IFFT / FFT 1024-point resource usage slice number 1%, the number of slice flip-flop 1%, the number 4 LUT (Look Up Table) 1%, and the number of IOB 27%. of the FPGA are used.

Abstract

Many of researches in SLAM are targeting desktops or laptop computers. Mounted in a robot platform such as Pioneer, these high computational power hardware do all the processing in SLAM. Still others, SLAM algorithms exploit GPU power to provide deep details in map reconstruction. Yet, it is desirable to deploy SLAM in a small robot without advantages from high computational power hardware. Single board computer with limited power supply and low computational power is frequently the main board available in a small robot. Therefore, it is important to consider the design solution of SLAM that targets such a system. With this in mind, current work presents a survey paper of SLAM in low-resource hardware. The main question to be answered with this current work is "How researchers deal with hardware limitation when implementing SLAM?" Classification based on a method to tackle the problem is presented as the conclusion of this paper.

Abstract

Vocational High School (SMK) is established to prepare productive and competitive labor. Each SMK has the vision to be the best school that provides the best service to the stakeholders in generating the smart and competitive Indonesian people. The achievement of the mission would be succeeded by building an integrated information system at school. Currently, many SMKs do not have an information system development plan that suits the core business aspect as the primary drivers, such as the organizational issues, human resources, environment, information technology, and application development aspects. Therefore, the design of enterprise architecture model is needed to generate data architecture, application architecture, technology architecture, and direction of the implementation plan for the school. In this study, the authors designed the enterprise architecture for SMK that can build the achievement of school goals. The method used is Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP). With the design of enterprise architecture, the development of information systems in SMK would have an appropriate and effective direction for achieving the goals.

Abstract

Information systems (IS) audit contains a proper review of risks associated along with the organization of information systems and processes. Also, an assessment of whether enough quality control will ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, and security of organization data and assets of the information system. An IS / IT audit is a coordinated process that specializes in high-risk areas in the organization. Selection of the areas can arise with the board of directors, the board of directors, audit committee, government agencies, or external audit organizations. Generally, it audits help organizations monitoring and evaluation of how the business is work and give protection to the interests of managers, workers, customers, and investors. Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (COBIT) is a detailed resource that consists of all the information organizations have to be compelled to adopt its governance and control framework. COBIT delivers good practices across all domains and process frameworks in an easily manageable and rational structure to assist in optimizing investments that support it. COBIT optimizes investments that support IT and ensure that IT successfully meets business requirements. In this paper, we find that paper about IT/IS audit using COBIT is had a different perspective. Base on the review from twenty papers, there is 85% with a title IT/IS Audit, but the content is about Maturity or Capability Level. The discussion paper is expected to provide new knowledge to other researchers who focused his research on the area of information systems audit. This paper is expected to provide new enlightenment that information system audit is different from the maturity/ capability level, which is also examined in the COBIT 4.1 framework.

Abstract

Indonesia has an enormous number of endangered species of flora (plants) as well as fauna (animals). Several factors influence endangered species such as lack of early education in this problem. Whereas, children, especially in school ages, have the most potential role in the future to solve this problem. To influence the behavior and attitudes of children towards wildlife, Conservation Education is the solution. By providing appropriate and effective conservation education, future conservation behavior can change in a positive direction. To address this opportunity, we proposed FloNa, a mobile app to educate children about Indonesian endangered species. FloNa is empowered by augmented reality to help children imagine and observe the real form of endangered plants and animals. Furthermore, we conducted experiments to analyze the efficiency of this app to overcome this problem. The alpha testing result shows that FloNa has a robust design and implementation. Moreover, from the beta testing result, we could conclude that FloNa could significantly support and promote endangered species conservation education for children in Indonesia.
