Aloofness and don't value one against the other in their life together are generally rooted in the social and cultural structure that does not reflect the equality tribe, race, religion, culture and between groups. Pressure and oppression perpetrated by groups of the society and culture of the majority against the minority in the field of social life, culture, economy and politics will bear the tension as well as social and cultural conflicts that are not endless and very detrimental to life together. Therefore need to be encouraged and carried out concrete efforts to develop the study of the diversity of social groups, cultures and ethnicities in order to draw up an educational curriculum of multiculturalism for the elementary school students to students in College. Education of multiculturalism can erode the attitude in addition to expected life of hypocrisy, egoistic and individualistic, but also helps a person to develop the process of identification and recognition of the reality of plurality. Multicultural education not only could produce human beings who have job skills but also the ability to understand, appreciate, and implement a live up to the values of democracy, humanity and plurality.

Abstract

The first and primary educator for the child is the parents. As first and foremost educators, parents reveal the fundamental authority to educate their children. Educate children they should do, because they are parents. The task and the call of parents in educating their children is a task and a call that should not be replaced by anyone. No matter how great the other party in educating but will not be able to channel life to the child fully and intrinsically. They are unlikely to be able to fill the heart and soul of the child in building a complete relationship between the child and the parent and vice versa. The education that is the responsibility of the parent is an education that reflects a purpose. The purpose of education is essentially: the fostering of the human person as a whole, as both personal and social beings, within the framework of his final destiny. By looking at the purpose of education, it is not enough for parents to only form a child to be smart/clever, but also need to form a child's person to be a whole person. Laws that require parents to educate children, need to get support from the government well so that parents are able to carry out these obligations well too.

Abstract

Catechetic is the coaching of children, youth and adults in the faith, which is specific to the delivery of the Christian movement, which is basically given organically and systematically, The Catholic Religion teacher deeply embraces her duties and mission through her work at school. This work is the duty and mission that comes from God himself. The Catholic Religion teacher is expected to earnestly live his vocation as a religious teacher. A Catholic teacher is an educator as well as a journalist. An educator or reporter will be able to carry out his duties well if he has a clear and correct understanding of what is actually the purpose of teaching Catholicism as a means of preaching the love of Jesus. A Religion Teacher is a person whose job is to teach another person or an emulated and imitated person. It means that the word is imitated and imitated by faith and deeds by dodging the Christian life. STKIP Widya Yuwana is an institution owned by the diocese of Surabaya aimed at educating prospective catechists and religious teachers. The institute was originally founded by Paul Janssen, CM under the name AKI (Indonesian Catechetical Academy) which aims to produce a militant and powerful catechist. According to the times, AKI has changed into STKIP Widya Yuwana. As the name implies, this institution is then identified as a producer of religious teachers, and even the impression that this institution no longer exists on the path of Jansen's romance as a catechist producer, and turned into a producer of Catholic religious teachers. This research is needed to photograph what really happened to the students. Is it true that the outward impression that graduates and students are more likely to be teachers? If so, what is the motivation behind it? Is it really a catechist profession is not promising, or indeed STKIP Widya Yuwana who had already lost the spirit of the founder of its predecessor?

Abstract

Reality of the Church today requires adaptation of the Church to the world situation. Moreover, the Church as the People of God should be relevant to the situation of its members. Coaching and teaching needs to be adapted to the situation and needs of the people, so that helped people live their faith in their appropriate background. Therefore, we need a catechesis which involves the situation and needs of the people. Catechesis appropriate to the situation and needs of the people is known as contextual catechesis. Catechesis of contextual context emphasizes the people "there, and that time". What is the nature of contextual catechesis? How to build up the Church as the People of God? Globalization can make whosoever so focused and ignore the people's life around them. To overcome the individualistic attitude of the people of the Church, it needs to reemphasizes the importance of the Basic Ecclesial Communities among the people of the Churh. The Basic Ecclesial Community is a unit of Christians relatively small and easily gathered periodically to hear the word of God, a variety of daily problems, whether personal issues, groups or social problems, and finding solutions in the light of the Holy Scripture.

Abstract

Catholic teens Indonesia is part of the Church in Indonesia and the Indonesian people. Indonesia consists of thousands of islands that stretched from Sabang to Merauke. This fact opens the possibility of a fairly wide occurrence of the encounter between cultures and simultaneous cross-cultural. This diversity is certainly a logical consequence to an enrichment of civilizations and diversity (plurality), although also contains elements of the loss. Plurality of Indonesian society on the one hand can make the Catholic teens swept away in the swift currents of the community to lose our identity or conflict. However Plurality can also awaken in the Catholic teen award nature between one race to the other races, between ethnic or tribal one with the other tribes, between groups with one another. In a pluralistic society such as this, the Catholic teens called to the apostolate. Through the act of self-discovery, live in love and have a sense of tolerance of differences is the real form of the apostolate.

Abstract

Multiculturalism is difficult to define. As a descriptive term, it has been taken to refer to cultural diversity. As a normative term, multiculturalism implies a positive endorsement, even celebration, of communal diversity, typically based on either the right of different groups to respect and recognize, or to the alleged benefits to the larger society of moral and cultural diversity”. What about Indonesia? In fact, Indonesian cultures indicate the multiculturalism. Is that similar with the concept of “madani”? What about with the concept of the civil society? Which one can adapt in Indonesia? In the cultural environment of Indonesia, cultures are not only interacted or isolated. Those two strategies work at the same time and apply to different aspects of cultures to create new forms of cultures. Multiculturalism can be defined in a ways that go beyond human activities to give a vivid multi-dimensional understanding of cultural interaction, cultural isolation and phenomena between these two extremes
