Abstract

Spacing is one of the technical factors that affect the growth of Sargassum sp. because of its relationship with the absorption of interrelated nutrients. Differences in spacing in the cultivation of Sargassum sp. has a function to find out what distance between plants is the most appropriate so that the growth of Sargassum sp. more optimum. This is closely related to the competition of each seaweed for nutrients as food. Spacing is one of the technical factors that affect the growth of Sargassum sp. because of its relationship with the absorption of interrelated nutrients. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different spacing on the growth of Sargassum sp. with the basic peg method. This research was conducted in November-December 2020 in the waters of Labuhan Ijuk village, Moyo Hilir sub-district, Sumbawa Regency using an experimental method with a completely randomized design (RAL) with a maintenance period of 30 days. The results of this study showed the growth of Sargassum sp. the highest was in treatment P0 (spacing 30 cm) with an average absolute growth of 159 grams, specific growth of 3.16%, followed by P1 treatment (25 cm spacing control) with an average absolute growth of 124 grams, specific growth was 2.16% then followed by P2 treatment (20 cm spacing) with an absolute growth rate of 103 grams, specific growth averaging 2.35% and then the lowest was obtained in treatment P3 with a spacing of 15 cm with an average absolute growth value of 65 grams, specific growth 1.64% with an initial planting weight of 100 grams. Keywords: Seaweed, macro algae, aquaculture, brown algae, alginat.

Abstract

AbstractThis study uses a quantitative experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 2 treatments and 3 replications. The palm fibers composite was made by following the compression test standard of SNI 03-3958-1995 and the tensile test standard of ASTM D3039. The hand lay up method is used in the manufacture of composites by applying resin to the mold with a roller brush. The compression and tensile tests were carried out using the Gotech Testing Machine (GT 7001 LC 30). The results of the compression test of the palm fiber composite 909.19 Mpa, the tensile test 10.82 Mpa, based on the test results, a comparison was made with the BKI (Indonesian Classification Bureau) standard, it is known that the fiber composite can only meet the minimum standard of compressive strength determined by BKI 100 Mpa, while the value of the tensile strength has not been able to meet the minimum standard specified by BKI 150 Mpa.Keywords:  Fiberglass, palm fiber composite. compression test

Abstract

AbstractThe existence of alpheid shrimp species in Indonesia is not too much found in the latest scientific publications. Alpheid shrimp species can be used as an indicator to assess the quality of the environment in mangrove areas. The discovery of shrimp species from the Alpheid group adds to the list of biodiversity in the mangrove area of Kuala Langsa. Biodiversity of a high number of species in this group of shrimp is usually found in mangrove areas with muddy sand beaches. This is because, this type of shrimp has a habit of living in muddy areas. The living zone of this type of shrimp is almost the same location as the type of crab that is wrapped like the Scylla serrata group. Mangrove area kuala langsa although it has mangrove biodiversity that is relatively high. Kuala Langsa mangrove forests are dominated by the Rhizoporaceae group, which is a type of vegetation that is effective as a sediment trap from the direction of the river estuary while holding abrasion from the direction of the sea. In the current year there is also a condition of decrease in the number of large trees. This is caused by the harvest of mangrove wood to produce charcoal for fuel purposes. This condition will slowly make the function of the ecosystem decrease. Where the role of ecosystems provide living niches for aquatic organisms is decreasing. Land clearing of certain areas of the mangrove area for physical infrastructure purposes such as the construction of restaurants, settlements, roads, small aircraft runways, reduces the ability of the region to maintain the function of its ecosystem. The next thing is the ecological pressure for aquatic biota that has living niches in mangrove areas.Keyword: alpheid shrimp, alpheus, mangrove, ecosystem, kuala langsa, aceh

Abstract

Various problems are found in aquaculture activities while decreasing production due to fish disease attacks and slow growth. Various alternatives can be applied by cultivators, one of which is the use of prebiotics. Coconut pulp contains galactomannan which serves as prebiotic and belongs to agricultural waste usually used as animal feed. This study aimed to determine the level of growth and survival rate of saline tilapia (O. Niloticus) after given coconut pulp extract. A completely randomized design (CRD) was emplyed. This study consisted of three treatments with three replications. Treatment A (maintenance of saline tilapia without adding coconut pulp extract), Treatment B (rearing saline tilapia with the addition of 1% / kg of feed with coconut pulp extract), and Treatment C (rearing saline tilapia with the addition of 2% / kg of feed with coconut pulp extract). The parameters observed were growth, survival and water quality. The results of growth and survival parameters on this study were not significantly different among each treatment. Daily growth rate (DGR) was obtained in treatment C, namely LPH 1.28%. The highest survival rate was obtained in treatment B, namely 80%.Keywords: nile tilapia, coconut pulp ekstract, galactomannan
