Abstract

This paper discusses the behavior of political party in Deputy Governor election (Pilwagub) at Riau Islands Province (Kepri) 2017 with rational choice and cartel politics approach. The DPRD of Riau Islands Provincial decision to to choose and assign Isdianto as Deputy Governor requires controversy, it is caused by the domination of one coalition over the other in the 2015 Governor election. This study argues that the motive for power in inter-party relations at the local level, especially those who have seats in Parliament of Riau Islands Province, tends to influence DPRD’s decision. Political parties effort at the local level through electoral changes are characterized by the pragmatism of political parties. The parties that competed in the 2015 Pilgub challenged reconciliation since the 2017 governor election. The findings of this study are those that discuss cartel policy through unseen agreements that are reflected in the DPRD's plenary decision by acclamation.

Abstract

Lots of studies argue that company development is determined by innovation, adaptability, and institutional dynamism. This study aims to explain the development of islamic value-based companies in digital startups, whereas the success factor of company is not only determined by innovation, adaptability, and institutional dynamism, but precisely caused by role of islamic values which was developed by the companies. Through qualitative approach, this results of study show that the islamic values which are the foundation of the company in carrying out to all operations of institution are Tauhid, Qonaah, competent, and moral. These islamic values at PT. Badr Interactive is built through the regulatory, normative, and cognitive cultural pillars. In general, islamic values play a role in four human resources, marketing, social responsibility, and corporate culture aspects. The influence of islamic values in these aspects produces an output of good quality product applications, good teamwork, strong employee resilience, employee spiritual needs, planned marketing strategies. These indicators are digital startup companies sources of success.

Abstract

In da’wah, the Jama'at Tabligh offers a more friendly and polite format of Islam, because in their da'wah they have the principle of ikram al-muslim or glorifying fellow Muslims. In addition they are also known as organizations that avoid the problem of khilafiyah. However, the stigma is violated because they internal conflicts. This study aims to examine the internal conflicts of Tablighi Jamaat. This study focuses on looking the background and the dynamic of conflict that occur in the internal of Jamaah Tabligh. This study uses qualitative methods and conflict triangle theory developed by Johan Galtung. The findings of study indicate the conflict is caused by the problem of leadership or determination of amir. This leadership conflict made the Tabligh Jamaah split into two groups namely the Syuro Alami group and Nizamuddin. The Natural Syuro group made the Muhammadan Mosque in Pondok, Padang as headquarters, while the Nizamuddin group made the Madinatul Munawarah Mosque in the city of Padang as headquarters. At present what happens between the two groups is throwing accusations at each other and berating each other.The conflict caused mutual accusations and verbal abuse between the two groups.

Abstract

The objective of this article is to explain the challenges that occur in establishing customary villages. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. This study uses thematic analysis, which aims to identify patterns and determine themes. Data collected using interviews and documentation. The results of the study found that there were four challenges in making regional regulations for the establishment of customary villages: first, the drafting period for the determination of customary villages was carried out in a short period. Second, not prioritizing socialization. Third, local wisdom is considered less critical for the sub-district government. Fourth, there is no follow-up from the local government to establish local regulations. The results of this study have implications for the miscommunication of local governments in understanding the village law no. 6/2014. As a result, local governments have not fully rearticulated the village law regarding the establishment of customary villages.

Abstract

Several studies stated the role of government is one of the keys that influence success in overcoming diversity in a plural society. Through the case study in Sudiroprajan village, this study aims to explain the success of overcoming the problem of diversity not only because of the role of the government, but through community involvement. Using a qualitative approach, the results of this study show that the Sudiroprajan community collective awareness is an effective way to overcome the problem of diversity that has the potential to cause conflict. Collective awareness is built through socio-economic similarity, historical experience, needs and acceptance, interaction and negotiation. The building of collective awareness in the Sudiroprajan community is able to produce diversity products in the form of the Grebeg Sudiro tradition. The Grebeg Sudiro tradition has become a symbol of the Sudiroprajan village diversity as well as a medium of diversity for people outside the village.

Abstract

Islamic banks provide mudharabah financing to foster the business. This service is offered to various scale of business, encompassing smaller or larger ones. However, the amount of mudaraba financing is less prevalent than the murabaha financing, in which the latter aimed for consumptive purpose. This paper aims to determine the constraints of Islamic banks in promoting mudarabah and optimizing it as one of the means to proliferate individual financial independence through owning a business. The study  uses a field research which is descriptive qualitative in nature. The findings are corroborated  using SWOT analysis to discover internal and external factors related to Mudharabah. Primary data  are obtained interviews with related parties in Islamic banks. Secondary data is also utilized  and obtained through literature studies. The results show that the strategy established by Islamic banks in optimizing mudharabah financing by implementing the linkage program. Islamic banks cooperate with BPRS and Cooperatives using mudharabah contracts, then BPRS and Cooperatives distribute the fund to the  public in, improving the economc activities.
