Abstract

This research is motivated by the finding when the toll gates on the Cipali toll road do not provide transaction service satisfaction and services that are not in accordance with customer expectations such as the availability of substations at the gate which in reality cannot meet the surge in customers, especially during working hours and on holidays. In addition, the availability of ramps is also not proportional to the number of vehicles exiting the Cipali toll gate. This shows that there are problems regarding transaction services which have implications for the low transaction speed of toll road customers. To test these variables, researchers used hypothesis testing using simple regression and quantitative methods using correlational techniques. The data analysis technique uses a simple regression technique. The results showed that the influence of PT.Lintas Marga Sedaya's service quality on consumer satisfaction in using the E-Toll Card on the Cipali toll road was in the very strong category. This is based on the value of rcount = 0.937 which is in the correlation interval 0.800–1,000 with a very strong category. In order to determine the significance level at = 0.05 (5%) the value of tcount = 26,216 and ttable = 1.66105. Thus, tcount > ttable, which means that there is a significant effect between variable X on variable Y, where the contribution of service quality to satisfaction is large. consumers by 87.9% and the remaining 12.1% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of interests, attitudes, and knowledge on the entrepreneurial skills of Hamzanwadi University students. The analysis technique used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis, using a saturated sample, that is, the number of population is equal to the number of samples. The results of this study indicate that the interest variable has no significant effect on entrepreneurship skills seen from the observation t value (0.032) < t-table (1.98), then the attitude variable has a significant effect on entrepreneurship skills because the observation t value (0.232)> t-table (1.98), and the knowledge variable has a significant effect on entrepreneurial skills as seen from the observation t value of (0.267)> t-table (1.98).

Abstract

The literature on the nexus between trade openness, income inequality and poverty appears conspicuously and of diverse outcomes. Perhaps, the mixed findings may be attributed to the methodology and economic structure of the country in view. The current study examines the trade openness on income inequality and poverty in Nigeria between 1981 and 2019 using Autoregressive Distributed Lags (ARDL) methodology. Our findings show that trade openness had different effects on inequality and poverty in Nigeria in the short and long run. While its relationship with inequality is a short-run phenomenon, it had a long-run relationship with poverty. Overall, trade openness had a declining effect on inequality and poverty. In the former, its impact was not statistically significant. However, the gains of trade openness on inequality and poverty were reversed when inequality influenced trade openness. In essence, with the influence of inequality, trade openness had an increasing effect on poverty. As a result, this study makes several recommendations to policymakers. To begin, a policy framework must be established to ensure that Nigerian trade is integrated with the rest of the world. Evidence from this study has suggested that policies such as restricting trade through border closures must not feature as a policy option as long as one of the goals of the economy is poverty reduction and reduction in inequality.

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to study the impact of perceived desirability and perceived feasibility on entrepreneurial intentions and also identify the difference in intentions of gender and the moderating impact of social media. For this quantitative research, a study survey was conducted in March 2021 in the universities of Pakistan. The target sample for the study was 500 including both male and female graduate students. The results of the study reveal the positive impact of perceived desirability and feasibility on entrepreneurial intentions. Both males and females are ambitious to start their own entrepreneurial ventures but there is a difference in intentions and the direct influence of social media is identified. The study is limited by its cross-sectional data and it is difficult to inspect the business intentions because such intentions are developed inside the people’s minds. It holds important implications for policymakers and educators to enhance self-efficacy and outcome expectations. The research took all three approaches of entrepreneurship into account for exploring the positive relation between perceptions and entrepreneurial intentions. By incorporation of social media variables into the study framework, it focuses on issues not presently discussed in the entrepreneurial literature. For future research, the study would suggest exploring the moderating role of other sociological and personal characteristics. The attitude of both genders toward entrepreneurship has remarkably changed and this independency because of social media can give them a better understanding of the practical world.

Abstract

Purpose — To examine the impact of tourism on economic growth in Thailand.Research method — This study was conducted using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) bounds testing approach, performed between 1995 and 2018.Result — The analysis finds out that there is a long-run cointegration in the data. The ECM approach is applied, and the results conclude that the long-run cointegration exists. However, the model depicts that there is not any significant positive relation between FDI and economic growth. The study results showed that the positive impact of tourism in the short term is extremely low, relative to that of the long term. The study results indicate that tourism's optimistic short-term effect is slightly smaller than in the long-term. This can be because certain government restrictions and other exogenous factors hinder the arrival of visitors in Thailand in the short term. Therefore, the government needs to resolve these constraints concerning trade, transportation, taxes, allocation of capital, and environmental risks to attract further tourism visitors and thus improve Thailand's economic growth.
