Abstract

Before the Reformation Indonesia used the 1994 curriculum. However, after the reform of the 1994 curriculum it was replaced with the 2004 curriculum because the details of the subjects students used in the 1994 curriculum were too many and the teacher and students were less interactive. After the 2004 curriculum was created, details of subjects used by students were made simpler, fewer and teachers with students more interactive. One of the strengths of the 2004 curriculum is that it develops student-centered learning. However, after using the 2004 curriculum there were some weaknesses so they were replaced by the 2006 curriculum (KTSP). According to (Sanjaya, 2011) there are a number of weaknesses in the 2004 curriculum, including among them the teacher did not try to find out students 'abilities earlier, the teacher never taught students' way of thinking, the teacher did not try to obtain feedback. Therefore, the 2004 curriculum was replaced with the 2006 curriculum (KTSP) which was expected to become a curriculum that could improve the quality of Indonesian education

Abstract

Sufism is a philosophy that emerged among Muslims in 9th. Century A.D. It emphasises on the concept of bathiniya (esoteric) in the practicing of Islam. Among several figures propagating Sufism, two of them were Al-Hallaj in Middle East and Sheikh Siti Jenar in Indonesian Archipelago. Both were accused of spreading ideas of Panhteism (i.e. belief in Allah and his creations as one entity), which consequently resulted in Sufism being considered ‘Heresy’ and a ‘Stray idea’ by the orthodox Muslims. Sheikh Abdus Shamad Al-Palimbani, a Sufi Ulema born in Palembang (1737 AD) wrote critiques for Sufism in his three writings. The first book called ‘Kitab Hidayatus Shalikin’ in which he said that Allah is different with his creation. The second book, ‘Kitab Tuhfah Ar-Raghibin’ in which he rejected the concept of ‘Hulul’ (i.e. the belief that Allah is in creation), and lastly the ‘Kitab Siyarus Salikin’ that explored human’s awarness of their ‘lust’ which he believed is a gateway to understand the distinction between Allah’s divine reality and human existence.

Abstract

The Javanese war which erupted from 1825-1830 was one of the events that became the starting point of the beginning of colonialism in Java. The Javanese war became one of the major changes in the world in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. For the Javanese, especially in Surakarta and Yogyakarta, these periods were times that showed a decline in the Javanese order, especially in the palace. In addition, Dutch interference which was increasingly uncontrolled further worsened the situation. In Yogyakarta where Prince Diponegoro grew up to become a prince, this deterioration was increasingly apparent before the seconds of the Java War erupted. In the Java War, Prince Diponegoro served as one of the most important historical actors. Diponegoro who led the course of the Java War with his attitude and resistance to the colonial deserved high appreciation. In his resistance, Prince Diponegoro gained popular support as well as considerable involvement from the court which showed that Prince Diponegoro had considerable influence in the social life of society and the kingdom at that time. This rebellion was the first event of resistance faced by the Dutch Colonial Government which succeeded in changing the face of Java almost as a whole. The strategy and sacrifice given by Prince Diponegoro cannot be doubted. Although in the end the Prince Diponegoro succeeded in being defeated by the Dutch Colonial, this event had succeeded in fostering a spirit of unity and nationalism in the Javanese community.

Abstract

This paper tries to examine "cultural existence" which is one of Bung Karno's "Trisakti" concepts delivered in his speech on the 20th birthday of the Republic of Indonesia, August 17, 1965. This ideology was deliberately brought up by Bung Karno in response to the practice of neo-colonialism. imperialism (nekolim) in the form of Western cultural hegemony towards Indonesian culture which is felt to be very detrimental in the future development of its people. Existence in a culture is actually a cultural identity, is the identity of a person as a citizen of a nation that is obtained from birth through the process of interaction that is done at any time in his life and then forms a special pattern that radiates characteristics to the person concerned. The Indonesian nation is a multicultural nation, a nation of diverse ethnic, cultural and religious diversity. This diversity has contributed to the formation of this nation, but when symptoms of disintegration occur it is often accused of being a source of conflict. Being in culture is an inspiring ideology that is absolutely needed by a multicultural nation such as Indonesia in anticipating various dynamics in society including dynamics due to globalization.
