Muslim scholars matched many scientific studies with the Qur'an statements which had taken place 1400 years ago. They find many surprising facts that the physical mountain according to modern geology shows the mountain as a peg or nail of the earth serves to strengthen the existence of the earth, has been hinted by the Prophet Muhammad through the glorious Qur'an. This has proven that the Qur'an is not only seen as a mere doctrinal book, but a holy book that can be proven with the scientific method and scientific facts in the field.

Systematical way was used for guidance to children, while the cultural way was applied to adult mualaf. The training problems were; 1). Poverty had implication in learning interest which was very low and inferior, 2). Their character gathering in group affected the training. 3) The arrival of "new people" periodically disrupted the guidance system, 4). Abstract

There had been a research of antibacterial extract of white pumpkin leaves (Lagenaria cineraria) activity towards some pathogen bacteria. The objective of the study was to present the antibacterial activity of extract of white pumpkin leaves, commonly called Lagenaria siceraria, against some 8 pathogen bacteria such as (Escherichia coli, Vibrio sp, Streptococcus mutants, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella thypi, Pseudomonas aeroginosa, Bacillus subtilis, and Staphylococcus epidermidis). The research was conducted by extracting the white pumpkin leaves and using 96% ethanol liquid. Afterwards the screening test was performed using microbe test and ethanol extract of white pumpkin leaves with 0,5% concentration and 1 % (b/v) with negative control of disc piper. It was found that the 0,5% concentration could prevent 4 pathogen bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Streptococcus mutants, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus epidermidis. After conducting the screening test followed by the mutant prevention concentration (MPC) test and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) test, in which the result was the ethanol extract of white pumpkin leaves with 0,5% concentration could prevent 4 pathogen bacteria which was obtained from screening test 2 % concentrationagainst extract of white pumpkin leaves that are able to kill 4 pathogen bacteria. Another test was performed with inhibitory test through agar diffusion method so that some blocking pathogen bacteria to screening result (Escherichia Coli, Streptococcus mutants, Staphylococcus Aurous, and Staphylococcus Epidermidises) against 0,5%, 1% and 2 % concentration. Moreover the chloramphenicol is as positive control. The result which was obtained respectively was the biggest obstacle zone diameter towards Escherichia coli, Streptococcus mutants, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria were 2,2 cm; 4,1 cm; 2,43 cm and 3,73 cm.

Abstract

Muslims as the majority in Indonesia has not contributed properly in the writing of the Indonesian National History. The role of Moslems covered by the hegemony of national historiography, even in the previous era. It must be admitted that Islam has played an important role in the Indonesia's archipelago and national history. Islam once became a super political force by the existence of Islamic kingdoms in various islands of the archipelago. In the modern era, Islam has transformed into a reckoned political force. However, in reality, the discussion about this issue cannot be found. Therefore, the authors apply independent approach to study Indonesian Islamic historiography that focusing on Indonesia Muslims literary culture and its periodization. Writing process of historiography in each area would give a birth to new various perspectives. Indonesia's post-colonial historiography carries a heavy burden in the writing process of Indonesia's struggle realities for independence at that time. The emergence of Indonesia center perspective was unable to complete the historiography mission. Moreover, the historiography has deteriorated the Muslims’ roles in the nation struggles. This claim is proven after Sejarah Umat Islam (History of Muslims) book is published. The book does not depict any roles of Indonesia Muslims except their political power. Furthermore, when the book discusses religious aspects, it only offers sections about Islamic kingdoms, pesantren and Kyais; as if there are no other interesting issues related to Indonesia Muslims.

Abstract

The present article constitutes an update on the findings of earlier researchers. Its strong point lies in its interrogation of issues by employing social science theories of power in addition to theories of religion at appropriate places. In the process, triumphs and problems relating to da‘wah are revealed. There is also the incongruity between the commitments demanded by Islam and the existential truth of Muslims. This applies particularly to governance and democracy issues. Despite shortcomings, da‘wah continues apace. Possible solutions to these problems are presented at the end of this article.
