Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis mengenai Paket Informasi yang mana termasuk ke dalam salah satu jenis koleksi di perpustakaan. Di masa ini, informasi salah satu aspek penting dalam kehidupan dan menjadi sebuah kebutuhan yang wajib bagi setiap manusia. Perpustakaan sebagai salah satu penyedia sumber informasi berusaha untuk melakukan inovasi, sebagai contoh yaitu melakukan kegiatan pengembangan koleksi. Kegiatan tersebut dilakukan karena informasi pasti akan selalu berkembang setiap waktu atau bisa disebut informasi pasti akan selalu up-to-date. Perpustakan sebagai penyedia informasi yang relevan sudah pasti memiliki banyak sekali jenis koleksi, yang mana koleksi tersebut berisi informasi-informasi yang dibutuhkan oleh penggguna atau pemustaka. Salah satu jenis koleksi yang tersedia di perpustakaan adalah paket informasi atau bisa disebut informasi kilat, paket informasi adalah salah satu jenis bahan referensi yang memuat kumpulan daftar isi majalah yang nantinya dikumpulan dan dijilid secara khusus. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Paket Informasi memiliki definisi dan layanan tersendiri serta memiliki proses pembuatan bagaimana paket informasi itu dikumpulkan.

Abstract

Problem. The main entry heading is one of the important aspects in cataloging where there are problems and challenges faced by librarians in determining it. Aim. The purpose of this study is to obtain an overview and analyze these problems and challenges. Method. The author uses the literature review method where the author looks for references from journals and books for later analysis according to the focus of the study. Research Findings. The author finds that leaders need to be present in the uniform perception among librarians in determining the title of the main entry in the catalog. Conclusion. The researcher concludes that in determining the title of the main entry in the catalog, it is necessary to follow AACR 2 and there are problems related to facilities and human resources faced by librarians and library leaders in determining the title of the main entry. As for the challenge, in the era of digitalization, librarians need to be adaptive and innovative in organizing the field of processing library materials, especially in determining the title of the main entry.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the collection of books in the field of general medicine at UPT Unsoed Purwokerto Library in accordance with the process of developing the collection and to map the strengths and weaknesses of the book collection in the field of general medicine. The research methodology was conducted using quantitative methods with a descriptive approach. Research data are textbooks with general medical subjects. Research data were collected by observation, documentation, collection evaluation questionnaire with conspectus and interview indicator standards. Population sampling and research sample based on the Krecjie table. While the data analysis technique is by collecting conspectus sheets, tabulations and percentages from each subject distribution. The results showed the level of depth of the collection of general medicine in UPT Purwokerto Unsoed Library in the range of 1a to 3. This means that collections in the field of public medicine at UPT Unsoed Library have supported the department of general medicine. The highest distribution of subjects was in the subject of disease science namely class number 616.1-616.9 a number of 87 collection titles. Analysis of general medical field language coverage for each class number is dominated by Indonesian. As for the chronological coverage of the field of general medicine it is said to be quite relevant to the latest information needs. Literature material published in the last five years totaling 58 collection titles or 20%. The collection of general medicine is dominated by the 2000-2009 published year with 118 titles with a percentage of 41% and the collection with the year published <1990 with 55 titles reaching 16%. Conclusion: UPT Unsoed Library immediately compiled a collection development policy manual as a guide in developing collections and establishing more intensive communication with the visitors.

Abstract

Since the COVID-19 outbreak was declared to have hit most countries, various changes in habits and new life orders have been implemented for people in the hemisphere, including Indonesia, in all fields. In an effort to break the chain of spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Indonesian government issued regulations ranging from online school learning to working from home (WFH) for workers. The impact given is felt in all circles and aspects of society. One of them is the library. Activities in the library should be minimized more than usual due to the existing social restriction policies. Libraries must be able to innovate so that the provision of information can continue efficiently even though there are social restrictions that limit the community's space for movement. The online catalog is one means that supports the efficiency of providing information in the library. It is the purpose of this paper to provide an understanding of the role online catalogs play in providing information during the pandemic. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The data collection technique used is a literature study, so that secondary data can be obtained. The results of the study show that online catalogs as information searchers can be a facility that is able to facilitate librarians in providing information as well as users in searching for information availability in the pandemic era where activities outside the home are limited.

Abstract

The University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) library is led by Lasa H.S. He has served as the Head of Library of UMY Yogyakarta since 2012 until now. So much various achievements on his leadership in the library and UMY librarians. Lasa H.S be come the Head of Library of UMY during these three periods became the focus of this study. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method using data from interviews, literature studies and documentation. The informants of this study were the head of the UMY library and librarian. The results of this study indicate that the leadership of Lasa H.S. included in the situational leadership style, which fulfills 4 (four) indicators, namely telling, selling, participating, and delegating. Lassa H.S. is a leader who has the characteristics of firm, ambitious, tireless in work but still considers the abilities of his subordinates. lassa. H.S. always provides motivation and support to his subordinates and is ready to help if there are things that are not understood by his subordinates.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed all aspects of life, from social behavior, economy, health and education. Libraries, which are institutions that support higher education, have also experienced the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Limitations in face-to-face and on-site service become a challenge on how to remain able to carry out the work of an employee. This became the rationale for the Biology Faculty Library to innovate entitled Online Media Optimization to Support Library Performance in the New Normal Era of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The purpose of this service innovation activity is so that the Faculty of Biology Gadjah Mada University Library can continue to provide optimal services to users in the midst of a pandemic that is strict on health protocols and physical contact. This innovation is in the form of optimizing services through communicative online networking media such as WhatsApp, Instagram and YouTube to provide a real picture and guide, especially for new members/new undergraduate and postgraduate students. The research method used is qualitative research case study approach. The study was conducted from September 2020 to April 2021. The results of this study show that the optimization of the utilization of online media has an impact, among others, libraries can improve communication skills digitally, direct users get more experience in improving e-literacy soft skills and how to access digital information sources, library institutions are able to improve the quality and Quantity e-Services by maximizing library resources and spurring creativity and innovation opportunities on an ongoing basis. With this innovation, the library will become an inspiring destination, especially for the Library of the Faculty of Biology, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The conclusion of this research is that the Library of Biology Faculty Gadjah Mada University can still provide optimal services to users in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic through innovations related to optimizing online media.

Abstract

Folklore is a form of children's literature. Libraries can provide a collection of folklore for children among users in introducing local culture and language. So folklore has been researched by several researchers from various countries. This study aims to determine the development of children's literature in folklore in the library. The research method used a qualitative approach through the content analysis method. The references studied were from seven references which were then mapped into several categories. Based on analysis 7 reference, all the folktales characters can psychology and phisic analysis. Folklore can retall to stundents at the school through storytelling and folklore reproduction on modul at school. Folklore is representation of culture at the region. The collection of folklore is the one of unique collection at the library. Based on seven reference, the most widely written folklore research is the theme of storytelling which is researched from 3 references. The research method that is widely used is the literature study method used from 3 references. Types of folklore that have been studied are folk stories written 6 times, poetry written 5 times, epic stories (struggles) and songs written 3 times, animal tales, legends, historical stories, myths, proverbs and written utterances respectively. 2 times, and other types of folklore are written once. The conclusion of this study shows that folklore can be researched from a variety of sciences, folklore as an effective learning medium in schools and libraries, folklore reproduction enriches children's literature in the realm of education.

Abstract

Information technology is now unstoppable, this is the impact of the continued development ofscience. To support this, the library must also be designed to follow the progress of the times, this is done to support the need for digital information. The formulation of the problem raised focuses on regulatory, funding, and technology aspects in creating a technology-based librarywhich is the main concern so that it can be seen in terms of what needs to be improved in the future so that the library that is run will continue to develop according to the needs of generations Z and Alpha. This research uses the literature study method by looking at Law No.43 of 2007 concerning Libraries as a basis. The results obtained from this research are that libraries in generation Z and Alpha need to be designed in such a way according to the regulations in law no. 43 of 2007.

Abstract

The reading interest of the Indonesian people is the lowest in ASEAN. The government and society should pay more attention to the crisis of culture and interest in reading in Indonesia. One of the efforts realized by the government and the community is to establish various kinds of reading places for the Indonesian people, one of which is the Jenny Bookstore Community Reading Garden. This study aimed to determine the role and constraints of Jenny's bookshop community in developing the people's interest in reading. This study used descriptive methods and by qualitative approach. The data in this study was collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research results, it was known that Jenny's bookstore is a place to meet and exchange ideas with library concepts. Programs or activities carried out by Jenny's bookstore in developing people's interest in reading were established some program like KBJamming, menangisi akhir pekan, sajakkan saja, buka buku, books publishing, and happy stage program. The obstacles faced in growing people's interest in reading were operational funds, limited room, and lack of volunteers.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has attacked various levels of society from all parts of the world, including Indonesia. Many of the people affected by Covid-19 have begun to adapt to the new situation in various ways. Libraries as sources of information are required to adapt to the needs of their users. The author uses literature studies or literature reviews in compiling this paper. The role of technology in the pandemic period provides convenience in using the library. Librarians adapt services online: consulting services, digital source tracing services, plagiarism checking services, and building digital libraries. The role of technology in libraries in providing services during the Covid-19 pandemic requires librarian skills in understanding the tools used. Media Zoom, GMeet, WhatsApp, Youtube, Instagram, library websites are indispensable in disseminating information. The purpose of this paper is to explain how the role of information technology, especially from online services in libraries, in order to meet the information needs of users. The results of this paper can be concluded that libraries have an important role in disseminating information through the role of technology during the Covid-19 pandemic.
