Abstract

In general, the advertisement created for a different purpose. The language of advertisement typically use persuasive that aims to attract the attention of consumers. This research is qualitative research namely analysis of content with interactive and converstional models. Interactive was found that advertisement maker has a point of view that all consumers have the same position. Whereas in conversationally was found that the advertisment maker has the purpose to persuade consumers as well as instill the belief in the community that the shampoo can provide best solution of consumers’ hair. The advertisments that are served to be able to master the social cultural market and manufacturers can get benefit in social cultural market.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the problem of teacher in teaching japanese writing sytem (sakubun). Write the letter of japanese, Hiragana, katakana, and kanji will be the most difficult thing. Writing skills are necessary to develop students’ practical communication abilities. Teacher is an important person in learning process. The role of the teacher is diverse and has several orientations. One important aspect is that of facilitator of student learning. The facilitator attempts to provide circumstances that will enable students to engage with the learning opportunities and construct for themselves their understandings and skills. That’s why teacher should offered how to solve a japanese students problem in writing.

Abstract

Pragmatic competence refers to the capacity to use a language effectively in order to fulfill a certain goal and to understand language in context. When people are unable to understand what is meant by what is said, the result is communication will breakdown, and so called pragmatic failure. Some factors cause pragmatic failure; firstly, failure to express or interpret speaker-meaning in which communication breaks down if either level of meanings (sense and reference) or (force or value) is not successfully produced or interpreted. Secondly, failure to observe cultural values in which social conditions on language in use are different and utterer or the interpreter fails to observe the cultural values. Thirdly, culture-specific pragmatic features; mental sets: a frame of mind involving an existing disposition to think of a problem or a situation in a particular way. The implications of pragmalinguistic failure to teaching second and foreign language teaching are that first, learners need to understand why such conventions are accepted. Second, language learners need to understand what native speakers mean when they use the language. Third, teacher is expanding students' knowledge and understanding of L2 pragmatic features regarding positive/negative pragmatic transfer from their first language (L1). Next, adult learners rely heavily on universal or L1 based pragmatic knowledge. Finally, teachers must be sufficiently socialized to L2 pragmatic practices, so that they can comfortably draw on those practices as part of their communicative and cultural repertoire.

Abstract

This study is a qualitative research on implicatures entitled” a pragmatic analysis of Implicatures Used in The Sport Column of The Jakarta Post newspaper”. It answers the categories of Implicatures Used in The Sport Column of The Jakarta Post newspaper, aiming at finding their types and functions. Data of this research are qualitative in type and sentence containing Implicatures taken from The Jakarta Post. In gathering the data, this research used metode simak (observing method). Extraingual method was used to analyze the data to find out the principles or rules of implicature types. This research shows that there are three types of implicatures most frequently used in the Jakarta post headlines published on June 2013 namely conventional and conversational implicature. Conventional implicature tells the non-truth conditional in the sport column of The Jakarta Post newspaper which inferences that are not derived from super ordinate pragmatic principle like the maxims, but are simply attached by convention of particular lexical items or expression. Abstract

Sebagai negara kepulauan yang memiliki puluhan hingga ratusan suku, Indonesia memiliki ragam jenis upacara pernikahan yang berbeda. Setiap daerah memiliki upacara pernikahan yang unik, sehingga siapa saja yang melihatnya bisa jadi ingin segera menikah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan makna ideologis serta esensi ideologi yang terkandung didalam Mangan Merangkat pada Suku Sasak Lombok Tengah. Metode yang digunakan dalam proses pengambilan data sampai pada proses interpretasi data adalah dengan mencoba untuk melakukan penetrasi budaya kepada masyarakat dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari analisa ini adalah pada acara mangan merangkat kita tidak hanya melihat nilai materi yang dibawa masyarakat akan tetapi ada hal yang jauh lebih penting yaitu yaitu patuh dan taat pada Allah. SWT, pimpinan dan aturan yang ada. Ada dua idiologi utama yang terkandung didalam mangan merangkat suku sasak di Lombok Tengah bagian selatan, yaitu pertama; Adanya bentuk kerjasama yang sangat mendasar sebagai bentuk kepedulian masyarakat terhadap sesama. Hal ini sejalan dengan perintah Allah dalam Al qur’an: “tolong menolonglah kamu dalam hal kebaikan dan taqwa dan janganlah kamu tolong menolong dalam hal keburukan”. Hal ini tercermin dalam kegiatan mangan merangkat. Tanpa diminta, masyarakat dengan penuh kesadaran gotong royong atau biasa dalam bahasa sasak kami berikan istilah beriuk tinjal. Kedua , ada pula nilai lain yang dapat diambil dari acara ini yaitu; laki-laki ingin menunjukkan keberanian dan kesetiaannya sebagai calon suami yang siap mempertaruhkan nyawanya demi sang calon isteri.

Abstract

Mastery of foreign languages, especially English is very important for every people. English is an international whose existence is needed in everything, especially in the world of education. Nursing students were not free from demans of mastering the English language caused many factors. The various needs mastery of English language by nursing students, English teaching materials should be developed and matched with their needs, one of them is to develop multimedia-based material models that used video, audio and image.The method of this research used research and development method. The population of this research were nursing students of STIKES Surya Global Yogyakarta. The technique and collecting data used observation, questioner and interview. Analysis of the data used central terdency measure.From the results obtained that the learning media is very interesting for students and make them motivated to learn more english language. The media can also help their language skills such as listening and speaking especially pronouncation. But there were still deficiencies in the facilities and tools of language laboratoty that inhibits in giving materials, and also the limited time of trial test so that the result of edia development has not been maximized.

Abstract

This research is trying to describe about auf as a preposition. The aim of this research to describe the meaning of auf as a preposition and then trying to describe the equivalent meaning in Indonesian. Theories which are used in this research are the theory of Gouvernment-Binding (GB) in order to describe the auf as a preposition related with the case which causes by the auf preposition. The method of this research is a descriptive analysis method. Data in this research is written and oral data (taken from the informan). The written data is taken from several novels using German language and German dictionary. The oral data is taken from three native German university students which are used to support the data. The result of this research shows that the auf preposition in German language which has meaning as a propositional to describe a space can influence accusative and dative cases. The prepositional auf can control the accusative case in pointing a direction (Richtung), in describing a movement (Bewegung) and describing a goal (goal). The auf preposition which has accusative case is expressed by the preposition of ke in Indonesian language. The auf preposition can also control the dative case if it is describes a situation or position in some place. The description of auf preposition with dative case is expressed by the preposition of di in Indonesian language.

Abstract

Authentic assessment becomes a crucial impression in its implementation in which teachers should comprehensively implement it in every teaching and learning process. The curriculum implementation needs some supporting factors including teachers' familiarity of the curriculum being implemented and their professional competence (Lengkanawati, 2004). However, a number of teachers still have lack understanding about the concept of authentic assessment impacting its implementation. 1) How comprehensively this assessment has been implemented by teachers (tools mostly used, aspect mostly assessed and the level of comprehensiveness of its implementation)? and 2) what problems are encountered by teachers? By employing mixed-method, this study revealed that less than 40% teachers have comprehensively implemented this assessment and most of them still face difficulties in implementing authentic assessment: lack of comprehensive knowledge and understanding about authentic assessment, their low readiness, low support and cooperation from stakeholders and time limitation. Hopefully, this study can be used as a scientific reflection and information for teachers and stakeholders to improve the quality of curriculum implementation.

Abstract

Not every child book is good for children, even a book was written by children. It needs adult supervision in choosing a book to read. The content inside the book rarely contains the information which continuing gender stereotype. This study aims to see the meaning inside KKPK works, Car Free Day by Alma. Semiotics (Pierce) used to find the meaning of the work. With triangular meaning by pierce (object, sign, and interpretant ) will help us to find the conceiving meaning inside the text. While gender and performativity (Judith Butler) use to assess the meaning. This research is a qualitative study. The data consist of words and pictures. This research found there are three female stereotypes: feminine symbol, woman and hedonism, and weakness of woman.

Abstract

Redewendungen is a group of words that have an idiomatic meaning. This study discusses the using of Redewendungen contained in several sentences from Brigitte magazine and der Stern magazine as a semantic review. From the analysis that writers have done on the advertisement script, it can be concluded that Redewendungen has an idiomatic meaning. In the analysis found some meaning idiomatic, the are (1) metaphorical Redewendung, (2) orthonymische Redewendung, (3) allusive Redewendung, (4) remotivier bare Redewendung, (5) emotional Redewendung.
