Abstract

Authentic assessment becomes a crucial impression in its implementation in which teachers should comprehensively implement it in every teaching and learning process. The curriculum implementation needs some supporting factors including teachers' familiarity of the curriculum being implemented and their professional competence (Lengkanawati, 2004). However, a number of teachers still have lack understanding about the concept of authentic assessment impacting its implementation. 1) How comprehensively this assessment has been implemented by teachers (tools mostly used, aspect mostly assessed and the level of comprehensiveness of its implementation)? and 2) what problems are encountered by teachers? By employing mixed-method, this study revealed that less than 40% teachers have comprehensively implemented this assessment and most of them still face difficulties in implementing authentic assessment: lack of comprehensive knowledge and understanding about authentic assessment, their low readiness, low support and cooperation from stakeholders and time limitation. Hopefully, this study can be used as a scientific reflection and information for teachers and stakeholders to improve the quality of curriculum implementation.

Abstract

Not every child book is good for children, even a book was written by children. It needs adult supervision in choosing a book to read. The content inside the book rarely contains the information which continuing gender stereotype. This study aims to see the meaning inside KKPK works, Car Free Day by Alma. Semiotics (Pierce) used to find the meaning of the work. With triangular meaning by pierce (object, sign, and interpretant ) will help us to find the conceiving meaning inside the text. While gender and performativity (Judith Butler) use to assess the meaning. This research is a qualitative study. The data consist of words and pictures. This research found there are three female stereotypes: feminine symbol, woman and hedonism, and weakness of woman.

Abstract

Redewendungen is a group of words that have an idiomatic meaning. This study discusses the using of Redewendungen contained in several sentences from Brigitte magazine and der Stern magazine as a semantic review. From the analysis that writers have done on the advertisement script, it can be concluded that Redewendungen has an idiomatic meaning. In the analysis found some meaning idiomatic, the are (1) metaphorical Redewendung, (2) orthonymische Redewendung, (3) allusive Redewendung, (4) remotivier bare Redewendung, (5) emotional Redewendung.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan meneliti makna simbol dalam ritual perkawinan suku Sasak di pulau Lombok ditinjau dari perspektif semiotik. Agar tercapai tujuan penelitian, peneliti mengajukan satu pertanyaan menyangkut makna tanda yang ada pada properti yang digunakan dalam prosesi sorong serah aji kerama masyarakat Sasak, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif etnografi kualitatif. Sampel yang digunakan dipilih secara purposive informan menjawab interview dan angket yang terdiri dari tiga bagian. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tiga instrumen yakni: melakukan survei, tanya jawab, dan menyebarkan angket. Jawaban terhadap dari tanya jawab dan angket (kuesioner) dianalisis dengan menggunakan semiotik Pierce. Penelitian ini mengungkapkan makna tanda pada properti atau piranti yang dipergunakan dalam ritual perkawinan suku Sasak di pulau Lombok seperti benang rajut, emas, perak, keris, uang bolong, kain dsb. Properti atau piranti tersebut harus ada dalam perkawinan masyarakat Sasak sebagai simbol penyerahan tanggung jawab orang tua mempelai pengantin perempuan kepada mempelai pengantin laki – laki.

Abstract

Keberadaan iklan sebagai salah satu media promosi tidak hanya memberikan dampak positif tetapi juga negatif. Iklan kecantikan memiliki pengaruh yang besar dalam memengaruhi dan merekonstruksi persepsi publik, khususnya tentang makna kecantikan. Kecantikan didefinisikan sedemikian rupa sesuai dengan selera dan kebutuhan pasar, sehingga menyebabkan definisi cantik mengalami penyempitan. Pemaknaan cantik hanya pada sebatas kecantikan fisik belaka. Iklan dijadikan sebagai alat dominasi dan hegemoni melalui ideologi yang disebarkan dalam representasi kecantikan versi mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ideologi dalam teks iklan Ponds yang dimodeli oleh Raisa Andriani sekaligus mendekonstruksi makna cantik itu sendiri. Penulis menggunakan teori AWK Fairclough dengan pendekatan SFL Halliday dan teori Dekonstruksinya Derrida. Dari analisis disimpulkan bahwa ideologi yang terkandung dalam teks iklan tersebut adalah ‘cantik itu putih’. Dekonstruksi yang dihasilkan adalah cantik itu tidak selalu putih.

Abstract

One of the popular genres that taught at school is narrative text. Mostly, narrative text is delivering in three main aspects as already set in the 2013 curriculum; language feature, generic structure and social function. However, this paper will add a set of SFL (Systemic Functional Linguistics) that also become a measurement of students’ tasks. This paper is to employ descriptive qualitative. From the data, it found that the mostly mistake is the infinite term. Meanwhile, the three aspects (orientation, complication, and resolution) of the generic structure of a narrative story is completely stated in this narrative story. Furthermore, this paper will elaborate a new set for teaching narrative text that is called a problem-based approach (PSA) as the combination of task-based learning and problem-based learning.

Abstract

Language functionate as interaction means in various fields, one of them is the education field. Education as part of the teaching in the learning process. Thus language as a means of communication, teaching and learning process occur an interaction between lecturer ad learners in the education field. In this case, the educator is a lecturer and the students are college students. In interacting, involves norms of verbal and non verbal behavior. Verbal behavior manifested in the form of invitations, orders, until prohibition on learners. Verbal imperative will differ based on the background of the educator and the learner. In this study, the writer describes the form of imperative sentences generated by educators at the Master's Degree in Indonesia Language Education Class at Mataram University and the level of politeness. This research used qualitative and quantitative data. The method used in this research is listening with basic techniques tapping and notes taking, The results of the analysis are presented by formal and informal methods, while the theory used is speech act

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the derivational and inflectional affixation in Menu- Meni dialect of Sasak language. It includes in a qualitative research. The data are collected through interview, note-taking and self-introspection. The researcher also provides informants from the native speakers of Menu-Meni dialect in Tebao. The data collected are then analyzed using some steps- classifiying the data, identifying the forms of affixations, identifying the types of affixation, selecting the derivational and inflectional affixes and explaining the affixation on Menu-Meni dialect. The results show that there are three types of derivational and inflectional affixation in Tebao, namely prefix, suffix and confix. Derivational prefixes are /m-/, /ng/, /pǝ/, /bǝ/, and /n/. Derivational suffix include /-in/ and /-ang/. Derivational confix are /pe-q/, /be-an/, /pe-an/ and /kem-an/. Inflectional prefix includes /n/,/ng/,/m/, /te/, /be/ and /se/. inflectional suffix involves /-an/ and /-ang/ and inflectional confixes are /te-ang/,/te-in/, /be-an/, /pe-an/, /be-q/ and /kem-an/. Each form of derivation and inflection in Menu-Meni dialect has its own function.

Abstract

Many countries throughout the world use more than one language such as English, Arabis, and Mandarin as their daily communication. In Indonesia, English as a foreign language becomes a compulsory subject in Junior High School and Senior High School. It shows that children or society are encouraged to learn and/or use more than one language that is called bilingual. Besides that, most parents support their children to learn English because they assume that English is able to shape a better future for their children. However, related to the theory, children who acquire two or more languages simultaneously will get confusion called the Unitary System Hypothesis. However, some scholars believe that acquiring more than one language at the same time will not undergo confusion for the children or it is called Dual System Hypothesis.
