Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of adding butterfly pea flower juice to changes in its physical and chemical properties. A completely randomized design with 3 levels of butterfly pea flower juice (3, 6, and 9%) and control treatment was chosen as the experimental method. The hedonic test (taste, aroma, and color) showed the panelists' preference level which was not significantly different in taste and aroma but the addition of 6 and 9% butterfly pea flower juice resulted in a blue color favored by the panelists. The addition of butterfly pea flower juice significantly affected the dough's swellability, texture, moisture content, and fiber content. After the effectiveness test, the addition of 6% telang flower juice is the recommended treatment from the results of this research

Abstract

The study was to examine the application of sonic bloom and refugia plants to increase growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). This study used a Factorial Time Series Randomized Block Design (FTSRBD) with 3 replications. The application factor of refugia plants (R) are 3 levels: R0 = control, R1 = Ocimum basilicum, and R2 = Zinnia elegans with different locations consisting of (S0) = no sound, (S1) = heavy metal music with a frequency of 21 -14000 Hz and (S2) = classical music sound with a frequency of 21-13500 Hz. Data analysis was continued according to Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% confidence level.  The results showed that the application of sonic bloom with classical music influenced plant growth and yield through parameters of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of chlorophyll and number of stomata. Refugia plants with the type of plant O. basilicum affect the growth and yield of plants through the number of leaves parameter. The application of sonic bloom with rock music affects the growth and yield of plants through parameters of pest attack intensity. The interaction of sonic bloom application and refugia plants did not have a significant effect on the observed parameters measured.

Abstract

The use of coriander seeds as acooking spice in a number of food processing is widely found and damage to coriander is known to be cause by Stegobium paneceum (L), which cause a decrease in a decreased fruid weigth, an unattractive fruit shape, and a musty smell, which is a form of decreased fruit weight, qulity and quantity of coriander seeds. Based on the observation of the biological aspect, the egg phase is 6-12 days, larvae is 10-140 days, pupa is 7-12 days, and 25-37 days. In the treatment of differences in water content to coriander, the mortality value of Z1 was 16,2%, Z2was 12,6%, Z3 was 5%, and Z4 was 1% at 30 day after observation. The shrinkage that occurred in coiander seeds was 0,14% (Z4), 0,04% (Z3), 0,02% (Z2), and 0,02% (Z1).

Abstract

Local beef is known for its low-fat content/lean meat. The fatty acid profile of beef could affect the meat quality, related to its texture, taste, and nutritional value. This study aims to determine the fatty acid profile of Rancah and Ongole Grade beef. This study used fourteen samples of meat from Rancah cattle 1.5 – 2.5 years, which were extensively reared with forage feed, and nine samples of Ongole Grade beef with forage and concentrate feeding as much as 2.5% dry matter of body weight.  A fatty acid profile was analyzed from the longissimus dorsi muscle area, between the 12th and 13th ribs. The fatty acid profiles identified are saturated and unsaturated fatty acids (MUFA and PUFA). The fatty acid analysis used is the Gas Chromatography (GCMS) method. The data were analyzed descriptively and fatty acid composition differences of Rancah and Ongole grade beef were analyzed by T-test. The results showed that the fatty acid composition of Rancah and Ongole grade beef is relatively the same as the beef of other breeds. Saturated fatty acid in Ongole Grade beef is higher than Rancah beef, but the content of unsaturated fatty acids, PUFA/MUFA: SFA ratio in Rancah beef is higher than Ongole Grade.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of different mixtures of bioslurry and catfish manure on the growth and production of hybrid maize. This research was conducted on the experimental field of the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Agricultural Innovation, Universitas Ichsan Gorontalo, for 4 months from February to May 2022, which was conducted to examine the best formula for a mixture of organic fertilizer made from bioslurry and catfish wastewater manure through experiments. The field experiment design was arranged based on a Randomized Block Design (RAK) which consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replications, resulting with 15 experimental plots. The results of this study showed that the combination of treatment of bioslurry with catfish wastewater manure had a significant effect on the variable length of corn cobs in treatment B1 (75% bioslurry combined with catfish wastewater 25%), and was the best treatment for the variable number of leaves, cob length, cob diameter, wet shelled weight and dry shelled weight of corn.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the adaptability of varieties and spacing of shallots in the rice fields of Sleman Regency to yield. The study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Block Design with 5 replications. The first factor is Variety (V), consisting of V1 = Head, V2 = Crok Kuning, and V3 = Srikayang. The second factor is Planting Distance (J) consisting of J1 = 15 x 15 cm2, J2 = 15 x 20 cm2, J3 = 20 x 20 cm2, and J4 = 25 x 20 cm2.  The results showed that the spacing of plants did not significantly interact with all parameters. The use of shallot varieties significantly affected plant height at 3 and 5 WAP, tuber diameter, and stover productivity in wet and dry conditions but had no significant effect on the number of tillers per clump and stover weight per clump in wet and dry conditions. Spacing treatment significantly affected agronomic characteristics, especially weight of stover per clump in wet and dry conditions; stover productivity in wet and dry conditions, but had no significant effect on plant height 3 and 5 WAP, number of tillers per clump, and diameter. The Srikayang variety produced lower productivity than the Crok Kuning and Tajuk varieties. Increasing the width of the spacing will reduce the productivity of shallots.

Abstract

Low soil fertility rates and not yet intensive crop cultivation have an impact on the declining trend on tomato production in the eastern multiplication. Low productivity of tomatoes due to low quality of seedlings and pest and disease attacks. Efforts to increase tomato production have been carried out, among others, by improving cultivation techniques, namely by improving the physical properties of the soil by adding organic materials and adding nutrients using inorganic fertilizers. The design of this study is; Complete randomized design with factorial analysis 2 x 4 and repetition as much as 3 times.  In the first factor, the media mixture consists of 2 levels, namely T0 = Soil, T1 = Mixture of soil, manure, and chaff (2:1:1). The second factor is the combination of fertilizer K and P consists of 4 stages, namely: P0 = without fertilizer, P1 = 5gram KCL and 15grams SP-36, P2 = 10 grams KCL and 15 grams SP-36; P3 = 15 grams KCL and 15 grams SP-36. The number of polybags in the study is 24 with a per polybag size of 30 x 40 cm. The results showed the addition of manure and chaff gave clear results to the growth and production of tomatoes. The application of KCl and SP-36 fertilizers affect the high growth of plants but does not affect the production of tomato plants. Recommendations for the use of organic materials and KCL fertilizers, SP-36 is applied separately

Abstract

This study aims to determine technically the implementation of organic growing media processing business on PO. 2 Tia Agri. To find out economically the large costs, revenues, profits and business feasibility of processing organic growing media on PO. 2 Tia Agri.  In its implementation, the business of processing organic growing media on “PO. 2 Tia Agri” in Banyu Irang Village, Bati-Bati District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province in general has been running well. Production activities consist of several main stages, namely material preparation, mixing all ingredients, fermentation process, packaging, and delivery. With a production capacity of 20 tons (20,000 kg) of organic growing media for 1 (one) production cycle with a selling price of Rp.1,000 per kg.  The income obtained in one production of organic growing media processing business is an average of Rp. 20,000,000 and a total cost of Rp. 16,396,506,47 and the profit obtained in one production is Rp. 3,603,493.53.  The RCR value of Organic Planting Media Processing Business is 1.22 so it is feasible to cultivate

Abstract

Rice productivity in tidal land is still low due to the chemical, physical, and biological properties of the soil. The research was carried out in January-May 2020 on tidal land type B, Maluka Baulin Village, Kurau District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The aim of the study was to determine the best combination of fertilizer doses in increasing rice productivity. The treatments included (A) farmer treatment (200 kg urea + 150 kg phonska + 500 kg dolomite)/ha; (B) farmer treatment + liquid fertilizer (6 liters/ha); (C) (200 kg urea + 300 kg phonska + 1,000 kg dolomite + 100 kg KCl + 100 kg SP-36 + 500 kg crumb fertilizer + 6 liters of liquid fertilizer)/ha; and (D) (200 kg urea + 300 kg phonska + 1,000 kg dolomite + 100 kg KCl + 100 kg SP-36 + 250 kg crumb fertilizer + 3 liters of liquid fertilizer)/ha. The treatment used a nested design with four replications. M400 rice seeds were planted with the Jarwo 4:1 system. Observations were made on the chemical properties of the soil before planting, growth and productivity of rice. The results showed that all parameters, except the number of tillers aged 60 DAP and before harvest were strongly influenced by the treatment. The highest productivity resulted from treatment D.

Abstract

The rice milling business that was most widely used by the community in the Busang sub-district was the Rice Milling Unit single phase. This study aims to test the performance and economic analysis of a single-phase rice milling business. The research method was descriptive using secondary data from the rice milling business and primary data obtained from interviews. The data parameters in this study were: work capacity, yield, efficiency, grain quality, stripping quality, and economic analysis. The rice varieties used in the performance test were kawan and sumping rice varieties. The results of the performance test of the single-phase rice mill is that the average working capacity of the kawan rice variety was 260.9 kg/hour with a yield of 65% and the sumping rice variety was 254.2 kg/hour with a yield of 59%. The stripping efficiency value of the kawan rice variety was 39.27% while the sumping rice variety was 34.78%. Milled rice was not yet the criteria for medium rice (SNI 01-0224-1987), this was due to the milling process that is carried out repeatedly so that it produces rice groats were high. The economic analysis of the rice milling business in Long Lees Village has an NPV value of Rp. 42,536,000, a B/C ratio value of 1.67, and an IRR value of 37% which indicates that the rice milling business was feasible.
