Abstract

Drug delivery system describe the journey of a drug to get the target of action. The material used in drug delivery is very diverse and according to the therapymethod. So far, the use of gelatin in the pharmaceutical is very extensive, such as material in the drug delivery system. Gelatin can be produced from the extraction of animal collagen like from skin, bone and connective tissue. They are usually taken from the products of animal slaughterhouse products such as pigs and cattles. To produce a halal material, starting from the selection of basic materials until production of a material must be appropiate with Islamic rules. Like the selection of basic materials that getting from halal animals, the slaughter process is according to Islamic law and does not contain alcohol or other non-halal ingredients. However, today the use of pig skin as a gelatin base material is preferred because of its abundant availability and ease of processing. But actually pigs are animals that should not be consumed in Islam. The large number of pharmaceutical products derivating from pigs is a problem for a Muslim because it can be non-halal product. Therefore it is necessary to look for alternative gelatin as drug delivery system. One of the alternative material that can be used is a polysaccharide which is a natural polymer with very abundant availability in nature. For example carrageenan which is a polysaccharide extracted from the red seaweed, alginate extracted from brown seaweed, and xanthan gum which is the excretion of Xanthomonas campestris bacteria. The polysaccharide can be used as a halal drug delivery system and has the potential to be developed further so that it has better quality than gelatin.

Abstract

Indonesia's population with a Muslim majority (87.18%) makes the need for halal products very large. There is a need for halal product guarantees for products entering or circulating in Indonesia. Halal guarantee in Indonesia is regulated by the Government through legislation. The halalness of a product can be determined by conducting halal certification by inspecting the product from the selection of raw materials, the production process, to the final product. The halal certification process in Indonesia has been developing. This study aims to describe the history, development, and implementation of halal certification in Indonesia, one of which is before and after the issuance of law on Halal Product Guarantee (Halal Law). Initially, halal certification in Indonesia was taken over by the Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) which is a civil society movement that has the support of the state. But after the issuance of the Halal Law, the authority for halal certification was transferred to the Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal (BPJPH) which is an independent state institution under the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. This was also followed by several changes in several policies related to halal certification. Halal certification which was initially voluntary and does not yet have strong legal legitimacy has now become mandatory for business actors. Implementation of the Halal Law began on October 17, 2019, and will be carried out in stages. In the implementation effort, there needs to be a good collaboration between the government, business actors, and the community.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is a major sector in economic activity in the province of Lampung. However, the crucial issues are still encountered in the agricultural sector, such as low productivity triggered by a narrow land ownership and restrictions on capital. Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) is one example of rural microfinance institutions that can be optimized role in improving farmers' access to financing sources. The purpose of this study was to identify the perceptions of farmers on the existence of BMT and identify factors that can increase the chances of farmers access the agricultural financing of BMT. The results of the analysis has pointed out that farmers assess the perception of the existence of BMT important role in supporting farming activities or other economic activity. In terms of employee services, facilities and infrastructure owned, as well as agricultural finance products from BMT, farmers assess it is already quite good. Farmers give agreed statements to each perception attribute with different percentages. The results of the analysis with the logistic regression model show that the significant variables to increase farmers' opportunities to access sharia agricultural finance from BMT are the distance of farmer's house to BMT service office, cost of fund, and farmer's view of the credit interest system.

Abstract

Indonesian government law No. 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance (Halal Law) states that all products circulating in Indonesia must be halal-certified. The implementation of Halal Law has implications for increasing the cost of delivering beef to consumers because each seller is required to implement a process that is in accordance with Islamic law in order to obtain halal certificate. This cost will be distributed to consumers by increasing the selling price of beef that halal-certified. The aims of this study are, (1) analyze consumers' willingness to pay on halal-certified of beef, beef prices are currently very high (Rp 120,000 / kg), (2) analyze consumer awareness on halal-certified of beef. The research sample was taken in the Bogor area. The method used to analyze consumers' willingness to pay is Contingent Valuation Method (CVM), and the method for analyzing consumer awareness is Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of this study indicate two factors that significantly influence consumer awareness: religious beliefs and halal logos. The results of this study also indicate that beef consumers in Bogor area are willing to pay more than 4-6 percent for beef that is halal certified. These results indicate that consumers from the Bogor area are willing to pay more for halal-certified beef. This shows the community's support for the implementation of the Halal Law.

Abstract

Production process of vinegar could be synthesized by chemical or microbiological. In Islam, vinegar must not be consumed if contains ethanol ≥ 1%, because it is categorized into khamr. The maximum concentration of vinegar fermentation is 1,0 %. This research was to analyze the alcohol compund that consist in vinegar. The validation method that used in this study are: selectivity, linearity, range, precision, accuracy, LOD and LOQ. The analysis instrument was gas chromatography Agilent 6890 Series GC System, with a Flame Ionization Detector (FID) and a column HP-5 (5% Phenyl 95% Methyl Siloxane), and optimal conditions were obtained by using temperature of inlet and detector of 250°C whilst the temperature of oven programed initially at 40°C, hold for 5 minutes, and raised to 5°C/min to 200°C. were used in this study. For split ratio was achieved at 50:1 and the injection volume was 1.0µl. The methods were proven selective and demonstrated linearity, precision and accuracy with r = 0.9995; 5,63% and 101,25%, respectively. On the other hand, the methods were proven that the sample contains alcohol. Finally, the result of quantitative ethanol contents analysis in vinegar from Saudi Arabia is 2,28.10-2  % v/v; and vinegar brand “x” from market in Surabaya is 1,17.10-2 v/v.
