Abstract

This study is a literary and cultural stare of the red thread Eka Kurniawan. As a young writer, Eka Kurniawan successfully spawned three novels that brought her name increasingly known in international literature. His works are also considered capable of inheriting a 'moving' literary tradition, in which the literary notions of socialist realism are echoed. As a results The language of Eka in Beauty, an elegant wound, and the wealth of his imagination provided excitement, like joy when he saw the snow falling for the first time. Ben Anderson even mentioned Eka as Pramoedya's replacement. He also mentioned Eka as the novel writer and the most original short story in Indonesia. Eka claimed to imitate Pram's discipline in making story details. Eka's comment? "I'm still far from Pram," Eka said in response to her comparison with Pramoedya. But it was precisely there that was the challenge for Eka to continue working as Ben Anderson and Pramudya had hoped for him.

Abstract

In the Indonesian context, acts of anarchism and terrorism by the Jamaah Islamiyah group and the Ansarut Daulah Congregation have a common thread with the Darul Islam movement in Indonesia, especially in relation to acts of violence that claimed human lives. In this case, religious ideology, often accompanied by violence and other forms of emotional expression, became ideological opposition is strong enough, even with a relatively small number of supporters. Indonesia's Islamic ideology in this period appeared in its roughest form: terrorism. Recognition of an act of terrorism suspects Bali Bombing October 12, 2002, a clear expression of religious emotion. Even, Ali Gufron, one of the Bali bombing terror perpetrators, a member of Jamaah Islamiyyah, had expressed his attitude to the firm and simple: as a reply to injustice and tyranny US and its allies against Muslims with the intention that they stop their tyranny.

Abstract

This study regarding the theoretical reflection of Islam-fascism and Darul Islam movement in Indonesia. History of Islam in Indonesia is also the history of power struggle (caliphate) which has not been completed until now. At that time Islam respecting plurality and respect the existing culture. The spirit of pluralism and tolerance enforced developed with enriched intellectual repertoire. Increasingly repressive and hegemonic states, bulldoze people across ethnic, class, and layers. Political regimentation of Suharto's New Order devastated spirit of nationality and humanity. Therefore, the intellectuals and the elite of Islam must find a way out of the crises of social, economic, and political ideology today, so that no reform has stagnated, so that this nation does not disintegrate. Giddens called political "third way" to emphasize the "no rights without responsibilities". In the era of the Prophet of Islam, "no rights without responsibilities" that accentuated in the Medina Charter, which guarantees the freedom, equality and justice. In the Islamic era Cordova, Spain, spirit and conception" Medina Charter" that then make their community a pluralistic, cosmopolitan, multicultural and universal, so they are willing to learn and accept everything of value from the experiences of other communities.

Abstract

The modern man comes to revolt against heaven, they have made a foundation of knowledge without and free from the light of intellect guidance (Intellectus in Latin and Nous in Greek which has higher position than reason). This article argues that, the intellect itself will enable to know who himself and enable him to access direct and immediate knowledge of himself, while reason as only a reflection of intellect itself. Denying the existence of intellect means rely on the reason only to get the data through the external sense. Modern civilization in the West has built the new concept of man but unfortunately excluding the most essential part of man himself. It can be concluded that The human as microcosm has responsibility to maintain and care to the nature. The nature is no longer regarded as enemies to dominated and exploited but as friends in a spiritual odyssey and helper for man who has the spiritual journey through the forms of the world of spirits which become the source of humanity and the nature itself.

Abstract

This study is about the red thread of the relationship between Ben Anderson and Pramudya Ananta Toer: a literary and cultural stare. Ben Anderson expressed his appreciation for the principles and views of Pramudya Ananta Toer that the existence of social and political commitments in arts and literature in Indonesia in the era of movement was more a response to the conditions of the times. Ben Anderson sees Pram's awareness as a 'patterned' writer of socialist realism ', has a strong humanitarian and popular vision, in which under Dutch colonialism, artists and writers feel a responsibility to participate in changing the fate of colonized communities. It can be concluded that they care and commit to the fate of the underprivileged, the oppressed, under-dog. In fact, from the conditions, language, real life and dialectics in the underworld, they discover the reality of humans and society as they are, authentic and inspiring. That is so. Social reality in their lives has shaped the commitment, color and character in working to rediscover humanity, justice and truth in their own way. In the end, it seems that we are restless, disappointed, hurt, angry and looking for humans. In this case, Ben, and Pram God willing, it is not alone!

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know the perspective of man in Islam and Christianity. The essence of human can be comprehend only through intuitive reason which is called intellectual or the Eye of Hurt (in Arabic word ‘ayn al-qalb) rather than merely rely on discursive reason or the ratio. An effort to revive the divine dimensions in the hearts and behavior of modern man is very important to create a harmony and god relation between man and nature. Modern man has already melted in the mud of is his daily life and it’s almost impossible to be near to the Spirit of his Lord. It can be concluded that any assessments, interpretations of all events and human phenomena cannot be accepted if placing human as a marginal entity or rim. By stating that man is a small nature (microcosm) and the nature is large man (the macrocosm) which has been direct manifestation of God's names, it has a significant meaning to the perspective and the relationship between God, nature and humankind.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the philosophical reflection in controlling property and self-ownership. A crucial point about the concept is whether or not the non-separation between the owner and what is owned is plausible. There are differences between the way we exercise our rights to property in things and to property in persons. For instance, if we have rights to do anything with our property in things, therefore we also have rights to do anything with our property in persons, provided that there is no violation on others' rights. The results shows that in contrast, we can morally destroy our property in things if we could achieve our ends by doing it. In short, although we have rights either to destroy property in things and property in persons, we are not prone to exercise such rights on our property in persons.

Abstract

This paper argues that the libertarians simply cut off the contingency (between not-yet-persons and persons) into time-slice account. They do not want to deal with a problem such as: how could the structure of Self-Ownership (SO) embed in persons? Indeed, the libertarians arbitrarily ignore who the owner of not-yet-persons is if a child is not a person yet. On the other hand, if God confers people’s property in person, it consequently means that a believer of SO is supposed to also believe in God. Insofar as a believer of SO cannot explain what the source of SO is, he needs to rely on a Lockeian explanation where God confers human with a property in person. There are two general libertarian reasons for this. First of all, the libertarian notion of slavery, as Cohen encounters it. Secondly, as Narveson conceives, since each individual has separate life, therefore every interaction between individuals is supposed to be based on mutual benefits. Therefore, the more appropriate way to encounter the thesis of SO is by cutting the bridge between the notion of owning self and a matter of moral right. Instead of cutting the bridge, Cohen widens his rejection by proposing another institution. Nevertheless, Cohen does nothing to explain what the structure of the bridge consist in and what the foundation for such a bridge is.

Abstract

Suharto is known as the "smiling general", but he also had a complex character which, for most of his life, successfully deflected analysis. He was acclaimed as a man of modest origins who had taken power out of disgust at the corruption of the last years of Sukarno, Indonesia's first president, who ruled from its independence from the Netherlands in 1949 until 1967.But while Suharto become a presiden for years, he presided over a regime in which his closest friends controlled huge monopolies and lucrative concessions, while his children acquired assets worth billions of dollars.Under his rule, Indonesia became closely aligned with western interests during the cold war and was rewarded with aid and investment to foster rapid economic growth, making fortunes for his cronies.

Abstract

In developing the Business Judgment System for State-Owned Enterprises (Persero) in Indonesian Economic Law, it is necessary to elaborate on the theory of the role of law in economic development. According to J.D. Mrs. Hart has three elements that must be developed in the legal system so that the law plays a role in economic development, namely predictability (stability), stability (stabilitiy), justice (fairness). The role of the law, basically refers to the main purpose of the law, which is to create an orderly society. Order and balance in society need to be achieved, so that human interests will be protected in achieving their goals. In general, the law functions to divide rights and obligations, regulate how to solve legal problems and maintain legal certainty.
