Abstract

This study discusses library layout, especially spatial planning in the school library. The sample taken was at the Library of Junior High School Plus Provincial Level in West Jakarta. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of the Library of Junior High School Plus Provincial Level in West Jakarta and to find out whether this library was in accordance with the Guidelines for Organizing School Libraries published by the National Library in 2006. The method used in this study is descriptive method that is quantitative. The use of this method is supported by data collection by direct observation to the research site, which is then recorded on the research observation sheet. This study will assess several aspects of spatial planning from the school library. The results of this study represent the percentage of each school library, whether it is in accordance with the standard or not. For the Library of Public High School 112 Jakarta got an average score of 92.2% of the standard, while for the Library of Public High School 65 Jakarta got an average score of 76.6% of the standard, and for the Library of SMA 2 Jakarta got an average score of 86 % of standard. Thus, it can be concluded that the Library at the Provincial Level Plus High School in West Jakarta does not yet exist in accordance with the standards contained in the Guidelines for Organizing School Libraries published by the National Library of 2006. Therefore, researchers advise each school library to pay more attention. and developing the library especially in terms of spatial planning.

Abstract

Bank Indonesia (BI) Library Kediri in implementing computer networks is quite adequate. Based on research in the field, the Bank Indonesia Kediri Library has not maximized computer network facilities for users or users. This is due to the constraints of the procurement process and the development of library space which results in constraints on various library facilities. This study aims to analyze the application or implementation of computer networks at the Bank Indonesia (BI) Kediri Library. The study was conducted through a qualitative descriptive research method with a type of case study on the application of computer networks in the Kediri BI library. Network devices that are implemented at KPw Bank Indonesia Kediri are MAN (Metropolitan Area Network). The network that is implemented in the Bank Indonesia Kediri library is a LAN (Local Area Network), which is connected to the network center in the BI office itself. The application of library automation is adequate with processing activities, availability of OPAC, circulation services and library reports. Various constraints on the network in the BI Kediri library inhibit the service process in the library, so there is a need for manual services so that services in the library such as the loan and return process continue to run.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of information and communication technology at the Tulungagung IAIN Library with various obstacles. The method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach based on empirical data from the results of interviews, data reduction, analysis and conclusion. The technique of collecting data uses observation and interviews. The use of information and communication technology in the current era has spread in almost all aspects of life, including the library. The library is a place to develop information and knowledge managed by educational institutions, as well as educational tools to help facilitate teaching and learning activities of the academic community. The library has a variety of types, one of which is a college library. The college library has a role in supporting the implementation of the Higher Education Tri Dharma, including education, research or research and community service. No wonder this technology is applied in the Library. good service will influence the satisfaction of the user. In this regard the problems encountered at the Tulungagung IAIN Library, such as constraints in network systems and technology, are still not optimally utilized for students in searching online library materials. Therefore, libraries must be able to adapt and develop information and communication technology appropriately into various types of services. Technology-based service activities are expected to be one element that attracts visitors to visit and utilize various sources of information so as to enhance the image of the library

Abstract

The library as an information resource is a reference for the advancement of an institution, especially educational institutions. One type of library is the college library. The library provides a variety of services to meet the information needs of users, for example reference services that provide various collections which are collections of general reference sources. The library provides various collections in the form of books or digital collections, one of the publications in the library is the encyclopedia. Encyclopedias contain various kinds of objects accompanied by information and comprehensive and complete information relating to the objects discussed in the object discussed in the encyclopedia are objects or material from various things of science. Utilization of an encyclopedia for the academic community has an important role. This study is about the use of encyclopedias in the Tulungagung IAIN Library using a qualitative descriptive approach to research methods by means of interviews with informants that are thoroughly described. The qualitative descriptive approach method is a method of processing data by analyzing factors related to the object of research by presenting data more deeply to the object of research. Based on this study the use of encyclopedias in the Tulungagung IAIN library is still rarely used by users. This can occur because the lack of user knowledge of the benefits of the encyclopedia to improve reference services needs to be developed through promotion.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the end encourage librarians to increase the use of ICT within the administering College Library. His goal was to be able to run the College Library functions with either IE as the brain knowledge and supporting the learning process through the availability of existing collections in the library. Librarians are beginning to understand that the service given by the library against pemustakanya can continue to improve in so well that pemustaka especially in access to information. The purpose of access to information in the era of the revolution Indutsri 4.0 at this time is how information can be received by pemustaka in quick time effectively and efficiently. Implementation of the virtual library on the College Library has the ability in solving problems, information explosion of the presence information and the influence of development of information technology. College Library's needs clearly felt it is important to use the right information technology, so that it can access a variety of information from around the world.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang begitu pesat membentuk tiga paham dalam masyarakat dalam memandang kemajuan teknologi itu. Ketiga paham itu, yakni distopian,teknorealis, neo-futuris, dipetakan oleh Mark Slouka berdasarkan empat objek kritik, yaitu konsep realitas, identitas, komunitas, dan ruang. Mark Slouka sendiri adalah seorang novelis dan esais (penulis esai) berkewarganegaraan Amerika Serikat. Keempat kritik Mark Slouka digunakan untuk membahas film The Matrix yang menggambarkan paham distopian dalam masyarakat masa depan atau masyarakat cyberspace.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The college library has played an important role in the process of scientific communication over the past 150 years. In the last discussion, they have been supported by an open access movement to support and develop their own community research, and develop their institutional repositories. However, evidence shows that even though there is considerable investment in the college library towards these repositories, scientists and researchers have not fully demonstrated the same commitment to Open Access. Because the main problem in the repository is ensuring that it does not violate copyright or other intellectual property rights. This study uses qualitative methods with library research, data collection techniques are documentation and analysis techniques, namely content analysis.The results of this study provide the best solution in establishing an open access information policy for institutional repository services by giving authors exclusive rights to the library, but the authors can also disseminate it. The next policy, namely the first owner of the copyright in the scientific work remains with the author, unless it has been assigned by the relevant university or funding contract that can claim ownership. For users outside of campus, access rights or downloads are subject to certain fees, according to the rates set by the institution concerned. The fee is accumulated at a certain time and submitted to the author. At present, a large number of colleges and research institutions accept open access as a policy that requires the retention of scientific work in an open access repository system. ABSTRAK Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi telah memainkan peran penting dalam proses komunikasi ilmiah selama 150 tahun terakhir. Dalam dekade terakhir, mereka telah didorong oleh gerakan akses terbuka untuk menyebarkan dan mempromosikan karya komunitas penelitian ilmiahnya sendiri, dan berupaya mengembangkan repositori institusinya. Namun, bukti menunjukkan bahwa meskipun ada investasi yang cukup besar di perpustakaan perguruan tinggi terhadap repositori tersebut, para ilmuwan dan peneliti belum sepenuhnya menunjukkan komitmen yang sama untuk Open Access. Karena masalah utama dalam repositori adalah memastikan bahwa tidak melanggar hak cipta atau HAKI lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan studi kepustakaan, teknik pengumpulan data adalah dokumentasi dan teknik analisis yaitu analisis isi. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan solusi terbaik dalam menetapkan kebijakan informasi akses terbuka terhadap layanan repositori instutisi dengan cara memberikan hak ekslusif penulis kepada perpustakaan, tetapi penulis juga dapat menyebarkannya. Kebijakan selanjutnya, yaitu pemilik pertama hak cipta dalam karya ilmiah tersebut tetap pada penulis, kecuali telah ditugaskan oleh perguruan tinggi bersangkutan atau kontrak pendanaan yang dapat mengklaim kepemilikannya. Untuk pemustaka di luar kampus, hak akses atau unduh dikenakan biaya tertentu, sesuai dengan tarif yang ditetapkan oleh lembaga bersangkutan. Biaya tersebut diakumulasikan pada waktu tertentu dan diserahkan kepada penulis. Saat ini, sejumlah besar perguruan tinggi dan lembaga penelitian menerima akses terbuka sebagai kebijakan yang mengharuskan penyimpanan karya ilmiah dalam sistem repositori akses terbuka. Abstract

The scope of higher education in the era of Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) is one of the complex, dialectical studies and becomes an opportunity that has the potential to change society for the better. IR 4.0 is accommodated by artificial intelligence in the form of technology that will change the work environment from tasks with conventional characteristics to digital technology-based. This condition requires far more numerous teaching, research and interdisciplinary innovations. One of the skills that is an important concern in the realm of higher education in the IR 4.0 era is the information literacy skills that must be possessed by students. Information skills are concentrated on cognitive and transferable skills, such as problem solving, evaluation and communication skills. Information Literacy (IL) deals with the ability to access, evaluate, organize and use information to study, solve problems, make decisions in the context of formal and informal learning, at work, at home and in the educational environment. The purpose of this paper is to discuss what happened to the education system in the era of IR 4.0 and the skills that must be possessed by students in dealing with education in the era of IR 4.0.

Abstract

Learning at the Elementary School level is dominated by information gathering activities to build students' knowledge. The concept of learning is related to constructivist learning theory and requires students to have a high reading interest. Based on interviews with SDN teachers 19 Nan Sabaris revealed the findings that students' reading interest was still low, this was confirmed by the fact that the learning methods that were often used were lectures. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of using the Play-Think-Pair-Share model to increase students' reading interest. This type of research is quasi-experimental, with a sample of fifth grade students at SDN 19 Nan Sabaris in the 2018/2019 school year. The data collection instrument used is the student interest reading assessment sheet, with the data analysis technique chosen is paired sample t-test. Based on the results of data analysis it was found that the sig 2.tailed value was 0.0000 smaller than the value of ? = 0.05, so it can be concluded that there were significant differences in reading interest between before and after the use of Play-Think-Pair-Share models in elementary school learning.

Abstract

This study discusses the process of formation and pattern of literacy movement activities at Forum Literasi Sumedang (FLS) as a catalyst of literacy based on society movement in human development effort. The purpose of this study is to know how the process of forum formation based on literacy, as well as the pattern of literacy movement activities implemented by the FLS as a catalyst of society movement based on literacy. This research uses qualitative method with case study approach. Technique of collecting data is done by observation, interview, literature study or documentation, and triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the formation of FLS begins with the motive to combine literacy activists to build a network (connection), so the opportunity for the development of literacy movement in Sumedang Regency grew larger. The FLS creation process consists of problem identification, FLS concept formulation, preparation, and launching. The literacy movement activity model at Forum Literasi Sumedang has two patterns, first the FLS as the center or the center of movement, and the second is the FLS as the support system of the initiator community.
