Abstract

The latent demand to optimize costs and customer service has been fostered in the current economic situations, characterized by high competitiveness and disruption in supply chains, placing inventories as a vital sector with significant potential to implement improvements in firms. Inventory management that is done correctly has a favorable impact on logistics performance indexes. Warehousing operations account for around 15% of logistics expenditures in terms of dollars. This article employs a method based on the Partitioning Around Medoids algorithm that incorporates, in a novel way, the application of a strategy for locating the optimal picking point based on cluster classification, taking into account the qualitative and quantitative factors that have the greatest impact or priority on inventory management in the company. The results obtained with this model improve the routes of distributed materials based on the identification of their characteristics such as the frequency of collection and handling of materials, allowing for the reorganization and expansion of storage capacity of the various SKUs, moving from a classification by families to a cluster classification. This article shows a suggestion for a warehouse distribution design using data mining techniques, which uses indicators and key qualities for operational success for a case study in a corporation, as well as an approach to improve inventory management decision-making.

Abstract

The teaching and learning process is a process that involves participants and educators. The teaching and learning process will be successful if there is interaction between the two parties. Along with the development of information technology, especially the internet in information systems, the teaching and learning process has utilized information technology both from elementary, secondary and higher education levels. Especially for higher education which requires students to be more independent and active in the learning process, information technology is considered very helpful for students. As one of the information technology-based universities, STIKOM Bali utilizes e-learning to support the learning process. Lecturers and students are required to use and utilize e-learning as a means to share information related to lecture materials, assignments, quizzes, discussion forums and others. One of the goals of implementing e-learning in lectures is to increase student learning motivation so that learning achievement will be better. It is also hoped that students will be more interested in the lecture process. One of the things that affect student learning motivation is learning media. The learning media referred to in this study is e-learning learning media. The long and stable application of e-learning at STIKOM Bali is thought to be one of the drivers of student learning motivation. The research method used in this research is problem definition, data collection, data analysis and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of hypothesis testing with H1 hypothesis regression with a significance value of 0.000 and a t-count of 4.015 proven, so that it is concluded that according to STIKOM Bali students e-learning affects student learning motivation.

Abstract

This is a comparative study on digital reading behaviors between students in Graduate Institute of Library and Information Studies (GLIS) in National Taiwan Normal University and School of Information Studies (SOIS) in University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. By making a connection between their habits and various forms of capital that may shape their reading behaviors, this study adopts a qualitative approach to focus on the four key concepts of Bourdieu’s practice theory: habitus, economic capital, cultural capital, and social capital to analyze the factors that influence digital-reading behaviors. The results indicate that the graduate students' digital reading behavior is influenced mostly by their family, school and library. Graduate students like to use electronic resources (online database and the Internet) to conduct academic research and still prefer print textbooks. When comes to digital reading, in GLIS, students with more than two digital reading devices tend to get free digital contents from various sources. However, in SOIS, students with more than one digital reading service tend to purchase digital contents from the Internet. Graduate students’ reading behaviours might be influenced by their economic capital.

Abstract

Abstract: E-commerce business requires promotion in introducing its products. One of the media that can be used is social media. There is a lot of information provided on social media, one of which is User Generated Content (UGC). UGC is a user's track record on social media that can be seen by other users. Social media analysis is needed to see the pattern of interaction between the company and its customers from UGC which is widely spread on social media. This can be used as an insight for companies in helping product marketing on social media. The method used in analyzing the interaction pattern of UGC in social media is Social Network Analysis (SNA). Social network modeling can help e-commerce businesses to understand the interaction patterns that occur on social media. The findings in this study show that the social network that is superior is the interaction social network regarding Lazada. Research also shows the key players for each e-commerce.

Abstract

This study using the multivariate linear regression model based on the ordinary least squares method (OLS) to estimate the internal factors affecting profitability of 9 listed banks on Vietnam Stock Market for the period from 2008 to 2016. A sample with 81 observations was used in study model, and Return on assets (ROA) is used to measure banks’ profitability in the study model. The results indicated that capital size and loan have a positive and significant effect on bank profitability, and asset size, deposits, liquidity risk and bad debts have a negative and significant impact on bank profitability. These findings suggest that banks can improve their profitability through increasing capital size and loan, remaining asset size, deposits, liquidity risk and bad debts reasonably. These findings allow authors to give some solutions to support Vietnam commercial banks increasing their profitability in integration era

Abstract

Customer knowledge is a valuable asset, and gathering, managing, and sharing customer knowledge can be a useful competitive activity for organizations. Successful knowledge partnerships with essential and valuable customers can strengthen business performance and create an absolute competitive advantage that is difficult for competitors to emulate. In consumer knowledge management, companies often experience significant obstacles or constraints so that sometimes many companies prevent them from managing consumer knowledge. The company or organization depends on consumers who do not need to understand the industrial field of the company or organization. This paper discusses the comparison of the application of customer knowledge management in various industries. Research findings that all organizations must apply the three essential components of customer-related knowledge within the underlying conceptual framework. Three basic components of customer-related knowledge within a basic conceptual framework: knowledge for customers, knowledge of customers, and customer knowledge, cannot be eliminated. This proves the compatibility with previous studies. In fact, to succeed, they must be applied so that it is of value to the company. Implementation of the framework can present a great opportunity for the organization or company to make new products so that this will improve the performance of the company or organization and maintain the continuity of the company or organization.

Abstract

The pandemic of COVID-19 has altered the way people learn. Learning has moved from offline to online throughout this pandemic. Predicting student performance based on relevant data has opened up a new field for educational institutions to improve teaching and learning processes, as well as course curriculum adjustments. Machine learning technology can assist universities in forecasting student performance so that necessary changes in lecture delivery and curriculum can be made. The performance of the pupils was predicted using machine learning techniques in this research. Open University (OU) educational data is examined. Demographic, engagement, and performance metrics are used. The results of the experiment. The k-NN strategy outperformed all other algorithms on the OU dataset in some circumstances, but the ANN approach outperformed them all in others.
