Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine the effect of social capital on the productivity of organic farmers in the Batur Village, District Getasan, Semarang Regency. This research was conducted in February 2018 to March 2018 at Batur Village, District Getasan, Semarang Regency. Survey was used in this research. The respondents were chosen among organic Farmers in Batur village, District Getasan, Semarang in total. There were 70 respondents in this research. Data were analysed by multiple linear regression analysis. The result of the analysis showed that (1) the variables of network had a significant effect on productivity of organic vegetable farmer; (2) the variables of trust had not a significant effect on productivity of organic vegetable farmer; (3) the variables of participation had a significant effect on productivity of organic vegetable farmer; (4) the variables of norm had a significant effect on productivity of organic vegetable farmer; (5) the variables of network, trust, participation, and social norm had a significant effect on productivity of organic vegetable farmer. Keywords: Social capital, productivity, organic vegetable.

Abstract

Study of Productivity and Income of Lowland Rice Farming the Impact of Agricultural machinery Aid, Seeds and Fertilizer is implemented in Malang Regency with sample of location and sample of farmer determined purposively (sampling) in 3 (three) Subdistricts and 6 (six) farmer group who received machinery aid, seeds and fertilizers. The sample of respondents was determined by non-proportioned random sampling method with 15 farmer groups each. Thus, the number of respondents as many as 90 members of the group. This study aims to determine the production, productivity and income of lowland rice farming before and after obtaining agricultural machinery aid, seeds, and fertilizers. Measurement of production is done by weighing the weight of dry grain harvest with tons unit. Productivity is measured by a partial productivity approach that is the production per hectare. Income is analysed using financial analysis. Comparative analysis using Student’s Test. The results showed that government aid in the form of agricultural machinery, seeds, and fertilizer subsidies can increase production 0.179 tons with an average land area of 0.44 hectares, increase productivity by 0.41 ton / ha or increase 7%, and increase income by Rp2,871,465.00 per hectare or increase 28.96%. Keywords: productivity, income, lowland rice farming

Abstract

The study aims to determine the presence or no difference to the income and productivity between farmers ginger practitioners SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) and Non-SOP held in June 2015 in the village Gayamharjo Prambanan Sleman District of DIY. Data obtained from 30 respondents through interviews using a questionnaire. Farmers selected by proportional random sampling of 30 people are farmers who are members of 12 (twelve) farmer group. Data analysis was performed using t-test aimed to examine differences in the average of two samples on a variable. Results of the study that there is a difference between the income of farmers ginger practitioners SOP and Non-SOP, is influenced by the differences in selling prices and production. There is a difference to productivity between farmers ginger practitioners SOP and Non-SOP, the differences are influenced by cultivation techniques and the use of production factors. Keywords: Ginger, SOP, Income, Productivity

Abstract

The title of this research is Influence of row planting system “Legowo” on productivity. The research aim is to determine the suitable of row planting system “Legowo” to get the best yield on paddy production. The research was done in BP3K Kalibawang, region Kalibawang, which has altitude ± 175 m. The experiment started from May to November 2013. The research used field experimental methods with single factorial design that were arranged in randomized complete block design, It was 3 times repeated. The first factor 5 levels are conventional plant (P0), row planting system “Legowo” 2:1 (P1), row planting system “Legowo” 3:1 (P2), row planting system “Legowo” 4:1 (P3), and row planting system “Legowo” 5:1 (P4). The result showed the method of row planting system “Legowo” 2:1 give higher yield product on dry grain process, and the best rice quality. Keywords: Planting System, Yields, Paddy

Abstract

This study aims to determine the social capital that exists in farmer groups and analyse the effect of social capital on the performance of farmer groups in the implementation of Integrated Plants Management of Rice Paddy in Kokosan Village, Prambanan District, Klaten Regency. The method used in this research is survey. Determination of village location was done purposively, namely villages that had carried out activities related to Integrated Plants Management of Rice Paddy. The sampling technique was carried out by proportional random sampling totalling 34 respondents. Data were analysed descriptively and multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that social capital consisting of participation, trust, and cooperation significantly influences the performance of farmer groups in the application of rice paddy integrated plants management in Kokosan Village, Prambanan District, Klaten Regency with a total influence of 68.1%. Partially variable of participation directly affects a significant result of 0,020 and the descriptive study results of 78,92% with always category. Trust doesn’t directly affect the substantial result of 0,129 and the descriptive study results of 79,12% with always category. Cooperation directly affects a significant result of 0,017 and the descriptive study results of 78,73% with always category. The variables that make the greatest contribution are trust on the performance of farmer groups in the implementation of Integrated Plants Management of Rice Paddy. The results of the largest coefficients are ranking in cooperation, trust and participation. Keywords: Social Capital, Participation, Trust, Cooperation, Performance

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) Pengaruh jenis bahan alam ZPT terhadap hasil dan kualitas umbi bawang merah dan 2) Pengaruh konsentrasi ZPT alami terhadap hasil dan kualitas umbi bawang merah. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Sendangtirto, Berbah, Sleman. Penelitian direncanakan dilakukan dari bulan Agustus sampai Desember 2017.  Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 3 ulangan. (A= Air kelapa, H = ekstrak kecambah dan R = Ekstrak rebung). Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi ZPT yang terdiri 1 = 100 g/liter bahan alam, 2 = 200 g/liter bahan alam, 3 = 300 g/liter bahan alam. Parameter pengamatan terdiri tinggi tanaman 4 dan 5 MST, jumlah daun 4 dan 5 MST, jumlah umbi per rumpun dilakukan menjelang panen, bobot basah dan kering per rumpun, bobot basah per umbi, diameter, tinggi umbi, susut bobot jemur dan total padatan terlarut (TPT). Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan DMRT pada taraf 5 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jenis bahan ZPT alami dan konsentrasi ZPT alami berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 4 dan 5 MST, jumlah daun 4 dan 5 MST, jumlah umbi per rumpun dilakukan menjelang panen, bobot basah dan kering per rumpun, bobot basah per umbi, diameter, tinggi umbi, susut bobot jemur dan total padatan terlarut (TPT).Kata Kunci : bahan alami, konsentrasi, hasil dan kualitas umbi

Abstract

The Ministry of Agriculture have enacted a special effort to escalate rice, corn and soybean productions since 2015 through the program of “Rice, Corn and Soybean Self-Sufficiency”. The manifestation of this program is facilitated through various activities including: tertiary irrigation improvement, land optimal, pre/post-harvest agricultural machinery aids, seed and fertilizer aids, integrated crop management movement, planting season arrangement using KATAM, and integrated escort and assistance by extension officers, universities (students) and the Army (BABINSA). The Program implementation requires farmers’ participation in several activities. Farmers’ participation indicator in this program can be observed through their involvement in four implementation stages: preparation, management, observation, and utilization. Research showed that the Program implementation in Padangsidimpuan was successful, indicated by the realization of planting area target of RJIT and OPLA programs at 100%. The farmers’ participation level in this Program scored 24.10 or 80.33%, the influencing factors related to the high level of participation were the farmers’ training quantity, their status in terms of land ownership, and assistance by extension officers and students. Problems in the Program implementation includes the limited number of extensions officers, the famers’ knowledge varied in technology implementation, and coordination among the related institutions was not optimum. Keywords: farmer, pajale self-sufficiency, participation

Abstract

This study aimed to know the role of institutional bureaucracy in the implementation of integrated pest management. The study was conducted in April 2012 in central Java. IPM institutionalization efforts in Indonesia influenced by a lot of constraints such as constraints conceptual, institutional structures, program priorities, ego-sectoral and ego-discipline and empowerment of farmers. Strategies undertaken by the government is the institutionalization of plant protection, the development of management information systems, strengthening forecasting and observation, the provision of appropriate technology and site-specific duna, provision of protection and stabilization of pest control. The role of institutional bureaucracy in the implementation of IPM in central Java is not optimal because of weak cooperation and coordination among stakeholders as well as good organizational structure has not stabilized both central and local levels as a result of regional autonomy policy. Collaborative efforts and networks need both locally, nationally and globally. Cooperation and networking will provide additional information as a result of the activities of the exchange of information related to IPM. Keywords: institutional bureaucracy, integrated pest management (IPM)

Abstract

Oyster mushroom is one of the horticultural commodities that has high economic value and is very popular by the community because it is beneficial for bodily health. Content of oyster mushroom typical chemical compounds efficacious treat various human diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, excess cholesterol, anaemia, increase the body’s resistance to polio and influenzas attacks and nutritional deficiencies. Viewed from the health aspect, oyster mushrooms are nutritious food ingredients with medicinal properties which are cheaper than modern medicine. Oyster mushrooms are perishable food, where the damage can be caused by microorganisms, biochemical reactions (enzymatic browning) and chemicals (non-enzymatic browning) and physical damage. Therefore, after harvesting, it is consumed immediately or processed into various types of side dishes or snacks such as nuggets, chips and others. The implementation phase of this research is the making of nuggets, making chips, organoleptic tests and farming analysis. In making nuggets with two treatments, namely with boiled and not boiled mushrooms, while in making chips is the use of a mixture of wheat flour and rice flour and tapioca flour. The results of the study showed that in making nuggets both flavour, taste and texture are preferably boiled mushrooms, while the colours of boiled and not boiled mushrooms are equally preferred. In making chips, colour and texture are preferred by using a mixture of rice-tapioca lour, while the flavour and taste are equally preferred. From the results of farming analysis, the making of nugget and oyster mushroom chips is beneficial with the B / C ratio of 1.65 and 1.84, respectively. With the diversification of oyster mushroom preparations and profitable farming analysis results can support the creation or development of agroindustry. Keywords: Processing technology, farming analysis, oyster mushroom, agroindustry

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of extension agents to improve farmer’s skills. The study was conducted in December 2017 in Sidomakmur I farmer group Pati District Pati Regency. The method used in the study was survey. Sample was taken by purposive sampling method with the number of respondents as many as 50 farmers. Data were analysed by multiple linear regression. The result simultaneously and separately the role of extension agents as facilitator, motivator, educator and communicator had significant effect on farmer’s skills. Keywords: the role agricultural extension agent, farmer’s skills, farmer.
