Abstract

The choice of majors at school is part of career exploration as preparation for entering the world of professional work. However, choosing a major can be confusing for students. This study aims to determine the effect of using trait and factor group counseling on the accuracy of majors selection. The research uses a quantitative approach with the correlational method. The sample in this study were 91 students of class XII who had made the selection of majors. Data were analyzed using regression analysis with the help of SPSS 25 for Windows. Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the effect of learning motivation on learning outcomes, the influence of learning discipline on learning outcomes, and the influence of motivation and learning discipline on learning outcomes during online learning. This research was a quantitative research with ex post facto method. The population of this research amounted to 136 students. The sampling technique used was probability sampling using a simple random sampling technique with the outcomes of 58 students. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire to collect data on student answers and documentation in order to obtain data on learning outcomes. The data analysis techniques used was multiple linear regression test. The outcomes of this research indicated that there was an influence between learning motivation on learning outcomes of 62.7%, learning discipline on learning outcomes of 37.3%, and simultaneously learning motivation and learning discipline on mathematics learning outcomes of 65.6%. The conclusion of this study shows that there is an influence between learning motivation and learning outcomes, learning discipline and learning outcomes as well as learning motivation and learning discipline on mathematics learning outcomes in fourth grade students.Kewords: motivation, discipline, learning outcomes, mathematics for elementary schoolDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jiip.v3i1.23043

Abstract

When children come to school, parents endorse them to the teachers and staff who have the duty to take care of their formation and growth while they are in school. Being in school does not only allow the students to learn formally but also to meet new people who become their classmates and friends. The home and school which are the primary places of children/students should be nurturing environments where they grow and assisted. In school, the systems are already in place in terms of teaching and learning including the emotional assistance to students. However, this remains to be seen in a virtual learning environment. The Covid-19 pandemic forced teaching and learning to be conducted in an online environment, a road less traveled in education. Though the learning continuity plan was developed and directives were issued, it was expected that there will be challenges and concerns that will emerge. Managing the challenges experienced by the students is another concern. This study aims to find out the difficulties and challenges encountered by the students as shared and observed by the teachers, and how the students were assisted by the teachers.  Based on the findings, it was found out that overload of requirements, time management, isolation, and lack of privacy are the main challenges and concerns encountered by the teachers. According to the teachers and guidance counselors, these were managed by being available online to the students, coordination of the student affairs, teachers, and guidance counselors, listening, and counseling/giving of advice. From these findings, the challenges and concerns will be addressed appropriately and lesser concerns will emerge as the online learning progresses.Keywords: conflicts, learners, online learning, students’ difficulties in virtual learning, managing students in online learning DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jiip.v2i2.21787

Abstract

This research was motivated by the phenomenon that the learning readiness of the fifth grade students of public elementary schools in the Raden Intan cluster was low. The research aimed to determine the influence of learning motivation and parents’ attention on students’ learning readiness. In this research the writer used ex-post facto research. The population of this research consisted 132 students with a sample 56 students who was taken by using probability sampling techniques, namely proportionate stratified random sampling. The data collecting techniques used in this research were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data analysis used simple linear regression formula and multiple linear regression. The results showed a positive and significant influence of learning motivation and parents’ attention toward students’ learning readiness at the fifth grade of elementary school.

Abstract

The problem in this research was the student’s result of IPA in the thematic learning at Jatimulyo Elementary School 3 are still low. The purpose of this study was to find out 1) the comparison of IPA learning outcomes in thematic learning using discovery learning models more effectively compared to those using conventional learning, and 2) the effect of group discussions in discovery learning models on IPA learning outcomes. The type of research used is experimental research with the research design is nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research were all fifth grade students of SDN 1 Jatimulyo, SDN 2 Jatimulyo, and SDN 3 Jatimulyo. The research sample was the fifth grade students of SDN 3 Jatimulyo. The sampling technique used multistage random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used observation and tests. Data analysis used simple linear regression test and t-test. Based on the results of hypothesis analysis was that1) the results of IPA learning in thematic learning that used the discovery learning model are more effective than those using conventional learning, and 2) the group discussion in the discovery learning model effected to the student’s IPA result in thematic learning.Keywords: discovery learning, group discussion, and IPA learning outcomes DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jiip.v2i1.21791

Abstract

This Objective of this research was description the effect of the animated film "Adit and Sopo Jarwo" on moral development in children of group B kindergarten Dharma Wanita Gentong Paron Ngawi Academic Year 2018/2019. This research method uses pre-experimental design with one-group type pre-test post-test design. The subjects of the study were Children of group B of the Dharma Wanita Gentong Paron Ngawi Kindergarten, with 15 children consisting of 9 boys and 6 girls. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques used parametric statistics with the t test or t-test for small samples that are interconnected. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in the average score of the moral development of children of group B before and after treatment, ie 48.21 to 70.83. i.e. shows that t_ (count) = 7.68 and t_table = 2.14 where t_ (count) t_tabel (7.68 2.14) so that the null hypothesis (H_0) is rejected while the alternative hypothesis (H_a) is accepted. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) inkuiri berbantuan PhET dalam melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Pengembangan ini menggunakan model 3-D (Define, Design, dan Develop). Produk pengembangan yang telah divalidasi dan direvisi, kemudian diujicobakan pada 44 siswa kelas XI SMA negeri di Kota Surabaya dengan menggunakan rancangan One Group Pretest-Posttest. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKS inkuiri berbantuan PhET pada materi ajar teori kinetik gas yang didukung dinyatakan valid berkualitas dalam melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA dengan peningkatan keterampilan mencapai 80%.Keywords: Critical thinking skills, student worksheets, inquiry, PhET. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jiip.v3i1.23234

Abstract

The problem in this research was the existence of verbal bullying behavior and its relation to the students’ interpersonal intelegence in fourth class Primary School state in Budi Utomo Cluster District Sub of Metro Selatan Metro City. This research aims to determine the significant relationship between verbal bullying with intellegence interpersonal students. This type of research is ex-postfacto correlation. The population is 78 students and all populations are used as research samples. The instrument for data collection is a questionnaire with a Likert scale, which was previously tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used product moment correlation. Based on the analysis conducted by the results of the study it can be concluded that there is a positive and  significant relationship between verbal bullying with intellegence interpersonal indicated by a correlation coefficient at the level of "High Enough".Keywords: interpersonal intelegence, verbal bullying. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jiip.v2i2.21819
