Dinamika Bahari: Journal of Maritime Dynamic
Dinamika Bahari merupakan jurnal berkala bidang nautika, teknika dan tata laksana angkutan laut dan kepelabuhanan yang dimiliki Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran (PIP) Semarang yang terbit 2 kali setahun, yaitu pada bulan Mei dan Oktober. Dinamika Bahari memuat hasil penelitian, ide, dan gagasan dosen, pengajar, taruna, peneliti serta akademisi di bidang transportasi laut. Dinamika Bahari terbuka bagi masyarakat umum yang ingin mempelajari hasil-hasil penelitian para dosen atau penulis lainnya. Masyarakat juga bisa bergabung menjadi penulis (sebagai akademisi), atau menjadi reviewers sesuai dengan bidang keilmuan masing-masing yang dibutuhkan oleh jurnal ini.

<![CDATA[The LPG Carrier is one of the ships that carries liquid gas cargoes below -48o C. The LPG Carrier has facilities in the form of a reliquefaction plant that uses seawater as a coolant for gas cargo. Therefore, the reliquefaction plant has an important role in the smooth loading and unloading process. If one of the reliquefaction plant particles is damaged, of course the cooling process of the polymer grade propylene gas load will be hampered. The purpose of this study is to describe the problem in the cooling process of polymer grade propylene load. The authors conducted research using a qualitative descriptive method through an interview approach, direct observation of the object of research, and supported by paper-based documents or photos. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the causes of delays in the cooling process of polymer grade propylene gas cargo, namely the influence of weather, sea water content, clogged sea water filters, clogged condenser tubes, and condenser shell tube leaks.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine whether the Vessel Traffic System (VTS) in Tanjung Emas is sufficient to provide benefits to users of port facilities. This research was conducted to determine whether the implementation of VTS as a form of technological advancement (science and technology) in the maritime world has been fully enjoyed by shipping service users. In obtaining data and filling out the questionnaire in this study using a sample of 60 people from the shipping office and ship crew (ABK). The research method is descriptive qualitative method and the sampling technique in this study is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling method. Based on the research results it can be concluded that VTS service users are satisfied with the services provided to vessels. The information system owned by VTS Tanjung Emas is quite effective in providing information related to shipping in Tanjung Emas. VTS gives a sizable economic role to the state through PNBP payments.]]>

<![CDATA[The potential of Indonesia's maritime natural resources is one of the targets desired by several countries from the international world to strengthen their economy. In addition to the natural resources it contains, Indonesia also has a strategic value for the world economy. The potential of Indonesia's maritime natural wealth demands the availability of qualified maritime security that can guard against acts of lawlessness, environmental pollution, exploitation of natural resources, navigational hazards, and territorial violations. Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) is a tool that is considered appropriate to maintain security in the maritime environment. The purpose of this study is to describe the procurement and customization of N-235 MPA in the context of monitoring and securing the EEZ and ALKI areas in Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive approach. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The result of the research is that the Maritime Patrol Aircraft with specifications in the form of a small aircraft (medium range aircraft) that is fuel efficient and does not require a long runway, to land so that it can land on an emergency runway (airship). This aircraft is suitable for reaching all sea border areas that are difficult to access in detecting suspicious activity, especially in the EEZ and ALKI areas. This aircraft has a radar with a wide range of monitors, surveillance cameras, and sophisticated weapons systems.]]>

<![CDATA[The new normal is an attempt to normalize everything new. A number of new things during the Covid-19 pandemic are related to the use of digital technology to sustain community activities during lockdowns in a number of countries. Information technology that has been used by the public to obtain and manage information is a major need in the face of this new normal. Previously people have been familiar with the pattern of work from home (work from home) that requires internet at high speed. The purpose of this research is first to find out the benefits and impacts of digitalization in the Indonesian logistics business sector and secondly to know the constraints of the use of digitalization of Indonesian logistics business. Methods of reasoning are thought processes derived from empirical observations that produce a number of concepts and understandings. The conclusions obtained in this study showed that the impact of technology helped logistics industry players to manage inventory, order processing, control supplier status. The obstacle faced is the problem of the possibility of goods experiencing damage on the road or worse not reaching the destination, and payments made by customers are not verified.]]>

<![CDATA[To improve the academic ability of a cadet, it is necessary to apply the principles of shipping with the use of computer technology which is accommodated by existing shipping programs on board. In the implementation of a voyage, it always uses a passage plan to make it easier to navigate either flat or electronically. A cadet must really be equipped with the ability to calculate manually and the ability to understand the use of shipping tables and be able to apply it in a computer program. The research method is descriptive. Data collection was carried out by manual calculation of the concept of Flat Sailing using a Mercator map and comparison of the results of calculations with programs on the ship, observation, structured interviews, documentary studies and library research. The purpose of this study was to compare the results of manual calculations and by using shipping programs carried out by cadets in the implementation of the Passage Plan. The results showed that the cadets still did not understand the application of cruise calculation formulas on the projection of the mercator chart or mercator map. Cadets in entering data in a program are still wrong and less thorough so that it will affect the implementation of the passage plan.]]>

<![CDATA[Shipping companies engaged in services are very concerned about service users. One of the companies engaged in services, especially on passenger ships, is very concerned about the satisfaction of service users for the sustainability of the company. This study aims to find out how the passenger service at PT Atosim Lampung Pelayaran is implemented at the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang. It is hoped that with good service, passenger service time will be faster and more efficient. However, in the process of serving passengers at PT Atosim Lampung Shipping Semarang branch is still experiencing several obstacles that affect the service of prospective passengers. These obstacles are caused, among others: lack of understanding of ticket buyers in ordering tickets and checking schedules online, ineffective health services at PT Atosim Lampung Shipping Semarang branch. The research method used is a qualitative research method by conducting interviews, observations and literature studies. This study found that in order to improve services to prospective ship passengers, PT Atosim Lampung Pelayaran developed an online ticket booking system and improved health facility services.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesia is an archipelagic country with 17,508 islands. Therefore, transportation by sea is very much needed to support trade flows in reaching areas between islands with one another through national and international waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimization of the implementation of the MLC (Maritime Labor Convention) on ships and to determine the effect of the implementation of the MLC (Maritime Labor Convention) for the welfare of seafarers. The data collection method is survey and interview methods. This research is included in qualitative research. The results of this study indicate that the 2006 MLC regarding the welfare of seafarers onboard KM Bukit Siguntang has been implemented well, but the rest time is not optimal so it is necessary to pay attention to its optimization. The implementation of the 2006 MLC had a major impact on the welfare of seafarers on board.]]>

<![CDATA[The world Maritime Education and Training Institute (PPM) under the International Maritime Organization (IMO) plays an important role in producing ideally skilled and competent seafarers. Developing countries, especially Indonesia, are challenged to be able to improve the quality of PPM institutions in developing their competencies that are globally oriented and based on a high level of excellence, so as to be able to maintain industrial competitiveness and overcome further globalization which causes economic growth in developing countries. This type of research uses descriptive research with a structured interview method. The main objective of this study is to assess the quality of maritime education and training from the perspective of seafarers in Indonesia. The result of this research found that a national strategy was needed for professional development for the cognitive development of seafarers.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation model of the Master of Applied Transportation program. The applied master program chosen and modeled is the PIP Semarang with the consideration that there is no special Applied Master Study Program that is directly related to the shipping industry held in Indonesia. In addition, from the results of the needs analysis, the results state that there are more than 90% of graduates who have not received information related to the Master's study program which is linear with the study program they have taken and the relationship with the current scope of work proves the need to open a Master of Transportation Applied Study Program at PIP Semarang. This study uses a combined method (mixed method). Quantitative data were obtained by filling out questionnaires by 539 respondents, of which 28% of respondents were civil servants including teachers and lecturers, 25% of respondents were private employees. As a deepening of the results obtained from the questionnaire, a quantitative descriptive analysis was carried out using the PIP Semarang education management documents. The results showed that 57% of respondents stated the need for maritime specificity in the implementation of the applied master's education program in transportation. This research concludes that PIP Semarang has fulfilled the readiness of the required resources for the development of the Applied Masters study program which includes 8 National Education Standards.]]>

<![CDATA[Technology in the digitalization era and the Covid-19 pandemic has changed systems and patterns of life, including character education for cadets. Digital era has brought various good changes as a positive impact that can be used as well as possible. But at the same time, digital era also brings many negative impacts, so that it becomes a new challenge in human life in this digital era, especially for the Level I cadets of the PIP Semarang. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the digitalization era as proxied as social media, online learning and emotional intelligence on the ethics and behavior of Level I cadets of PIP Semarang. The method used in this research is quantitative. The population in this study was 412 cadets, while the sample was 274 cadets. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. The F test in this study indicate that social media, online learning and emotional intelligence together affect the ethics and behavior of the Level I cadets of PIP Semarang. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the digitalization era has an effect on the ethics and behavior of Level 1 cadets at PIP Semarang.]]>
